Damn well guaranteed that the people who think Jonathan and Erina had no interest in each other, that their relationship was forced, would ship them HARD if Erina had been a male platonic childhood friend instead.

#and besides that I fundamentally disagree that they had little to nothing going on between them #the denial is PALPABLE #not saying Araki is great at indepth character writing or romance writing #not at all #but it's weird seeing a minority of jjba fans talk down to jonathan and erina's bond specifically #(especially compared to other canon m/w pairs in the series)#and i usually see this in tandem w/trying to canonize m/m jonathan ships like jonathan x speedwagon #to make this clear like whatever you like obvs and any attempt at ship warring these pairs #(or ship wars in general) is useless and pathetic behaviour #but I have seen this sentiment enough times KNOWING that y'all would be diehards if erina was a man w/little else changed #suddenly their bond would be this unshakable Truest Love shit or whatever #don't get me started on people who unironically use terms like ''comphet''#or that one bland jojo yt vid i watched that tried to handwave jonaerina in an attempt to boost the series' queer bonafides #(which yikes m/w relationships aren't counter to queer existence or queer experiences bi-specs/mspecs & straight trans people exist #and its presence in jojo's doesn't diminish the rampant queerness that the series portrays)#jjba #phantom blood
