I do feel like I should note that from maybe day 1 of playing Dark Parables (and there's a definite chance this was unconscious projecting on my part) I've seen the detective as a trans man. I say unconscious projecting bc I hadn't come to the conclusion of transness yet. I also somehow completely missed that novelization in Briar Rose. so.
#i feel like in games where you can customize the character appearance i tend to make/use fem ocs bc they tend to have more options#and ones where you can't do that I'll lean towards masc/male ocs#anyways. love my gay depressed ray of sunshine disaster detective#he and briar are besties#until sky kingdom and then leonard joins their trio#he (leonard) gets a crush on one of the red riding hood sisters and john happily takes on the role of encouraging older brother#john is both friend shaped and brother shaped#he Does not care if someone is older than him. he will be big brother if he needs to#and then ballad of rapunzel happens and he has his breakdown and finally goes to therapy#and after that he takes on a mentor role with belladonna bc they both have touch/hand based powers#that are largely dangerous to people around them#anyways im rambling and need to sleep#potato talks#potato rambles in tags#i need to get back to my dark parables fics
