It is vital that the visions of Lestat that haunt Louis are seen first and foremost as shards of Louis’ own fractured psyche. These scenes are emotive hallucinations, a visual representation of the way that Louis feels unable to escape his past, as well as how he directly draws on those experiences as he tries to move forward. It is only Lestat in the sense that Louis has cast blended memories of the man to perform the role of Louis’ own doubt, misery and regret.

#a vision has appeared before me too and it is of a lot of misaimed discourse #there has already been a lot of chatter which frames it as though this is the actual character #and or Louis' remembrances of Lestat à la the first season #I am looking forward to analysing what each of these scenes represents about Louis' thoughts at that point in time #bringing us closer to Louis' conflicted emotions than he ever wanted the audience to get in the first season #but which can only be done by Louis almost completely disassociating from them #also this could be a good set up for Claudia to haunt Louis as a ghost #because he would mistakenly believe that she is likewise another reflection of his misery #the symbolism of which I'm sure would not escape Claudia #Louis de Pointe du Lac #Lestat de Lioncourt #Interview with the Vampire #Jagged Jottings
