i truly do love speculative biology for fantasy, like if i sat down and actually put time into it i could make a series exploring how different fantasy races would work. but it would genuinely be so long with me just explaining how i'd think the worldbuilding would work it's crazy

#eden mrraps.#and plus i genuinely cannot talk about society worldbuilding without first explaining #1: all of the humanoid races we see likely evolved from the same few ancestors. think like we didnt kill our fellow neanderthals in the #stone age because of uncanny valley #2: culture. oh my god culture and perception of others its so fucking important you have no idea #i can ramble on and on but it would just fucking sound like the first song in the normal album with vampire culture bassboosted #3 that most fantasy races are terribly underdeveloped and racist as hell. sorry the drow have “darker than dark” pruple skin because they #were weird about darker skinned people and didn't wanna properly explore what an underground society of nature loving elves would be like #surrounded by a whole new fauna. yeah the whole “their skin becoming dark” thing i dont think bilogically makes a lot of sense #only because. 1: hoooww would that happen. 2: bitch are they the radioactive frogs from cherynobl. is the fucking underdark radioactive.#thats the only thing off the top of my head no prior research to it that i can think of that'd cause their skin to go darker. radiation #poisoning.#<- also i proved my point. i love speculative biology #writing tag #nerd tag
