unfortunately, I couldn't find any gifs of what I think might be my favorite scene in Black Orpheus, which is when the distraught Orpheus makes his way to the Office of Missing Persons and encounters no one but Charon the janitor. The janitor is sweeping up, but he gestures to the mountains of paper on badly-lit desks and tells Orpheus he's welcome to look.

In the film, he obviously takes pity on Orpheus, and ushers him past Cerberus to the Candomblé ritual. Nevertheless, there's something about that scene, with two men standing in the badly lit hall, detritus spilled across the floor, all those papers stacked so high....
