Ugh. The Final Fantasy fandom can often be so horrible. I'm glad that even though I'm a huge Final Fantasy fan--it's always been one of my favorite fandoms and is probably my second favorite fandom--I've never really interacted with the fanbase in a lot of cases.

Or, at the very least, I've never gotten into "which game is better" conversations with people. Because that whole thing is stupid and it all comes down to opinion, anyway.

I've also gone on record many times saying that I think people who think there are set rules that Final Fantasy has to follow to be a "true Final Fantasy" are often off base, since Final Fantasy has always been about reinventing the wheel with each new installment.

#like this guy makes this video about how he IS excited about ffxvi and ffvii both (and how he grew up with ffvii) and about the different #reasons why for each one. but then concludes that at this point in his life he's slightly more excited for ffxvi #and while there are a lot of respectful comments okay with that and echoing that sentiment #of course there are a ton of them hating on him or that idea. or saying how ffxvi isn't a “true ff” and how it's going to fail -sighs-#like this should be a happy time for the fandom. we're soon to get two major releases of triple a games in the series that look GREAT #but no. we always have to have this stupid in-fighting #why do huge fanbases always have to be the worst?#i also wanted to make this one happy post about something we'd get to see in ffvii rebirth. but then realized 'oh wait. i'd better not.#because the fandom won't be normal about it. but will rather lose their minds over it.' sheesh #and then there are the people who aren't fans of the changes in ffr continuing to blame everything on nomura. don't even get me started #on them
