...Iโm really not sure what this movie was trying to say.
#it billed itself as a 'social issue drama' by being an allegory using superheroes#but like........which issue? was it just general 'oppression is bad'???#because there weren't any parallels to racism it can't have been talking about misogyny because they only mentioned that like once#and there were some parallels in regard to being neurodivergent/disabled but ultimately the takeaway was 'these pills are suppressing your#true powers and also your therapist is evil also you will never be able to live in normal society' which like. if you were trying to make a#commentary on how we treat neurodivergent and/or disabled people.............you failed REALLY badly.#it's not about poverty/capitalism either because any potential money struggles had no significant impact on the plot????#or like...generational trauma or war or any ACTUAL issue like WHAT WAS THIS MOVIE ABOUT?????!!!#I was so excited to watch this one too!!!! but alas#mc13 watches stuff#like. you can just have a movie. you don't have to advertise it as a social commentary or profound statement on humanity like you#can just have a superhero movie I promise it's okay not every story has to have a Grand Moral Messageโข
