sometimes a take i disagree with is so removed from the source material that instead of being annoyed i get properly confused as to how it is even possible that the person read the same book as me.
#truly will never forget coming across someone being disappointed with katniss ending up with peeta#because gale was obviously who katniss wanted and desired#because he was the only one she was safe and relaxed with#because she yearned for him to comfort her#and so i genuinely feel that this person read a copy where peeta's and gale's names were switched#because how do you get that from the text???#and this not me arguing that it's forbidden to view katniss and gale's relationship romantically#i'm not personally convinced but i can understand how someone could be#it's more that if you think she has feelings for him then how can you think she also doesn't have them for peeta#and also like *more* of them#if their moments seem romantic then how are the cave or the eyelashes or the nights on the train or the roof picnic#not objectively more romantic#it's more that if katniss never feeling anything when kissing gale doesn't bother you in reading her feelings as romantic#then how is the beach kiss nothing to you#i understand preference and not feeling something but you can't ignore how the book was written#like maybe you're not buying it but everlark objectively has more romantic moments#idk i was so genuinely surprised and confused by that post#everlark
