rip to the random viera who had the misfortune of dying in the seventh umbral calamity and immediately having their body hijacked and appearance altered by a barely conscious melpomene
#the irl reason they're a viera in the unsundered au is because i wanted them to be androgynous#and viera are arguably the most androgynous playable race aside from maybe lalafells and i don't want to play as a lala version of them#the in lore reason they're a viera is that shortly after the seventh umbral calamity for reasons not entirely clear melpomene's soul began#to wake up and it made a beeline for the nearest available body#and before they gained consciousness it altered the body's appearance to be their old appearance except not all the way#so melpomene's look in the game is nearly how they looked in ancient times just with viera features#which i'm not sure how that'll work for things like the elpis arc but we'll cross that bridge when we get to it#i should commission art of how mel actually looked one of these days
