The big talking point is losing Brennan Johnson. However, with the quality Forest have brought in it certainly softens the blow. Elanga has hit the ground running and I'm excited to see how his partnership with Awoniyi pans out. Him and Callum Hudson-Odoi cost less than half of Brennan's transfer. On paper thats pretty good business but time will tell. Sangare, Murillo, Domiguez, Monteil and Omobamidele are really solid defensive signings and the level of quality throughout the squad has been elevated. When was the last time Forest had a World Cup winner in their squad? You can see with the quality level of the outgoings in that other than Brennan all have gone to Championship or other leagues that aren't in the big European five. 25 players off the books for this season is a staggering amount and is definitely a residue of last seasons over zealous recruitment. Still out of that 25 there's only 3 players that I'd like to have retained. Brennan, Dean Henderson and Lodi. But I'm not too down about not retaining them because I actually think, as a squad, Forest are far stronger compared to last year.
