Photo slides of Mattel prototypes from 81, which were shipped to vendors/artists working on their promotional material.

“During last Thursday's stormy power outage, I used the flashlight app on my iPad (in white screen mode) to illuminate the room. While looking at it, I wondered if that app could pass for an artist's/photographer's light table. So this morning, I put it to the test...When I was a kid, Mattel shipped some slides to my Dad for a promo job he was illustrating for the original 80's release of the 'Masters of the Universe' toy line. The slides were Mattel's photo sessions of prototypes for the original 7 toys released. They came in a little slide viewer that fascinated me as a kid -- similar to 'View-Master' you would hold them up to the light & advance through each slide. I used those slides to test on my makeshift iPad light table, and here are the results. Not professional quality by any means - since the iPad light source is made up of pixels, they create a pixelated image when illuminating the slides. But for makeshift fun purposes, it works pretty dang cool!“
