Among their many other fine qualities, I really appreciate the Arrows of the Queen books (all of Mercedes Lackey's books, really) for not falling into the not-like-other-girls trap.

#i'm trying to read another fantasy novel with a Girl Hero written around the same time #and perhaps it's just that i have no attention span right now #but it's getting on my nerves #another character literally describes her as ''less silly than any of the other court women''#I'd kind of forgotten how much of a thing that used to be #and still is really. i just haven't been reading in this genre much #gillianthecat reads books #arrows of the queen #mercedes lackey
