love how the language in 8x01 changes so suddenly it goes from sam saying "I thought you were dead" multiple times to dean being like "we told each other not to look for each other but then of course we always ignored that" as if dean didn't know exactly where sam was after s5 (so not a matter of looking) and as if sam didn't think dean was just dead after s7 (so also not a matter of looking) like don't we even care about the truth anymore!!

#not saying spn viewers don't have their head up their ass but sam getting to remind them that he thought dean was dead in future #conversations especially to dean's stupid face might have helped #but it was like the writers didn't care because of course dean's word is law even if he's contradicting himself (which he does often)#anyway this isn't a “nooo sam obviously tried” kind of take it's an observation of how often dean gets to flip the script #and how often they let him #conversations regarding the gadreel arc after the purge aired anyone!!!
