taking their picture.
summary. taking the picture of various genshin and hsr characters.
trigger & content warnings. none applicable.
tropes, pairings, fic length, & other notes. fluff. pantalone & reader, baizhu & reader, venti & reader, dan heng & reader, himeko & reader. 0.5k words. no gendered pronouns used for reader (you/yours).
author's thoughts. no thoughts today. only vibes (<- is feeling unwell). i hate the 2nd person pov but it's the easiest one to use in this format HELP
Tumblr media
pantalone isn't a fool, really. he's impossibly perceptive, even if it may not outright seem that way, especially on the days where he appears to be functioning on autopilot. he is no fool. he knows that something is going on when you seem to sneak around a bit more one day... and the click of a camera only confirms his suspicions. he can only smile fondly at your antics as he turns towards you, saying, "if you so desperately wanted a picture of me, dear, all you had to do was ask." he doesn't mind much, though. being the man he is... it's something he's used to, but he finds it to be sweeter when it's you taking his picture.
baizhu knows what you're doing, much like pantalone, but he doesn't mind. he's a bit flattered if anything. really, if you wanted a keepsake of him, you only would have had to ask and he would have been more than happy to oblige... but if you want to sneak pictures of him while he's in his element, focused on writing or preparing a perscription, he genuinely doesn't mind. you are never a bother—not to baizhu... not as long as you're polite and mindful, of course. he does need to get work done, after all.
venti, oh, venti... once he catches wind of your antics, he'll gladly entertain you! he might tease you a bit, though. he's your dear friend! if you wanted to have a picture of him, you should've just asked instead of being so sneaky <3 he wouldn't have said no! he'll pose for you and smile widely at the camera any time he sees you aiming it his way (though i feel as if, at first, you would have to thoroughly explain the concept to him... he is quite the old archon now, after all). if you manage to catch him off guard though, perhaps when he's performing or resting under windrise... the picture you'll get of him is very befitting of the archon he truly is.
dan heng doesn't visibly react much, but deep down, he finds it quite endearing. he won't entertain your antics; he won't turn your way and smile when you're about to take the picture, nor will he pose much beyond throwing up a casual peace sign as he's done at march so many times before... come to think of it, that's probably why he's so unbothered. you wouldn't be the first to take surprise photos of him. he wouldn't be surprised if you picked up that habit from march, actually.
himeko doesn't mind at all! she won't shy away or ask you to delete any photos you take of her. she thinks it's sweet, really, that you want to have pictures of her that you can hold dear when and if she's ever away. if you missed her so badly, you could always just... text her. or call her. she understands the sentiment of pictures, though. she'll always smile and even pose for you if you wanted her to. all of her photos come out remarkably beautiful, even if you catch her off guard. she's photogenic in that way.

What would Kaveh’s reaction be to when his kid got the vision?
Tumblr media
how would kaveh react to his child getting their vision?
summary. how would adoptive dad kaveh react to his child getting their vision?
trigger & content warnings. referenced past trauma, villain!focalors (this was written before fontaine's release).
tropes, pairings, fic length, & other notes. hurt/comfort. adoptive dad!kaveh & reader. 0.3k words. they/them pronouns for reader.
author's thoughts. a random thought unrelated to the fic but i feel like kaveh would be a very affectionate parent. his kid gets all the kisses and hugs in the world fr!!! im super surprised that multiple anons are so interested in my silly lil adoptive dad kaveh series hejekdjln but i very much appreciate the interest! it means a lot <3
Tumblr media
kaveh would feel very conflicted, i think.
on one hand, he is overjoyed. his child's ambition was enough to move the gods above? his child's? the pride that swells in his chest is very much comparable to the pride he felt when the palace of alcazazaray finally came together properly. he's proud of them. the gods above should be moved by his child! maybe that's just his pride as their father talking, but still. he thinks they deserve the gods' recognition and more.
on the other hand, however...
kaveh understands why they're so angry. it's a hydro vision. of all the seven elements, it just had to be that one. he knows why they're so furious about it, he does. even though he's proud and overjoyed that their ambition was so great that the gods above acknowledged it, their happiness is his priority. their wellness is his priority. kaveh knows better than most that visions aren't always blessings. he understands very well that they can be curses, curses that bring nothing but pain and suffering upon the wielder. there is nothing to be done about it, however. this is not something that can be changed. he does wish, though, that he could take away the pain they were feeling. he can't, much to his dismay.
the best he can do is kiss away their tears and whisper gentle, kind reassurances while holding back tears of his own.
"my love..." he murmurs softly against their temple, pressing a small kiss there as his calloused fingertips traced random shapes and patterns on their upper arm. "you don't have to use it if you really don't want to. you don't. if it's going to weigh on you this heavily..."
"i just..." they cried harder into his neck. "what does she want from me?! she already took my family, what else does she want?!"
"shh... i know, honey. i know."
once they're calm enough, he'll take them out to puspa cafe and buy them something sweet and comforting... with alhaitham's mora, of course <3
please consider reblogging, it helps me out quite a lot! adoptive dad!kaveh taglist: @kaoyamamegami, @zeldadou, @bebobeboben. send a non-anonymous ask to be added.

general friendship headcanons (sumeru).
summary. what is it like being friends with some of sumeru's citizens?
trigger & content warnings. brief & hypothetical mentions of people being creepy towards you.
tropes, pairings, fic length, & other notes. fluff. alhaitham & reader, collei & reader, cyno & reader, kaveh & reader, nahida & reader, nilou & reader, wanderer & reader, tighnari & reader. 0.9k words. no pronouns for reader.
author's notes. just a lil filler post while i continue working on requests <3 should i make this into a series? i think i will HSKDHDLD sometimes i need things to post in between requests, especially when i get a wave of longer requests.
Tumblr media
alhaitham is the kind of friend you can just... sit in the silence with. it's not uncomfortable silence whatsoever—it's, on the contrary, rather comforting and calming. he'll let you sit right up against him if you so please as he reads a book of his. you want to take a nap on him? go for it, he doesn't mind. i like to think that alhaitham finds the weight and pressure to be soothing (neurodivergent alhaitham my beloved...). you want to read your own book? that's fine. maybe you're doing something else—crocheting, knitting, drawing, writing... he really doesn't mind. whatever it is you choose to do, you're welcome to curl up against his side while you do it.
collei is another one you can sit in comforting silence with. she finds it nice just to spend time with her friend! if either of you aren't really interested in doing anything in particular, or if one or both of you aren't feeling great mentally or physically, she's totally cool with sitting in the calm quiet and cloud-gazing together. if you do want to do something, however, she's up for that too! she would also take you on patrol with her, i think, even if you need special accommodations. she'll figure it out. if you want to go with her, she'll find a way c: she's also the kind of friend that would enjoy trading easy & convenient recipes with you.
cyno is definitely the card game friend. you will learn to play tcg. you have no choice. it is your fate. /lh but i also like to think he's a considerably protective friend! he's the one to ask all the questions if you let him know you're planning on going out. he wants to know all the details. are you going with someone? yes? who is it? where are you planning on going? he literally just wants you to be safe, so sometimes it might come off as overbearing or infantilizing, but he really doesn't mean it that way! he genuinely just wouldn't forgive himself if something happened to you that he could have prevented.
kaveh is the kind of friend you could stay up until atrocious hours of the night talking to. also 100% the gossip friend. he'll sit there doing your hair, makeup, nails, or skincare routine—regardless of your gender, whatever you're comfortable with! kaveh genuinely doesn't care as long as you're happy and content—and tell you all of the terrible awful drama he overhears. he's also somewhat protective, but not to cyno's level. he'll inquire about your plans and will then tell you to be safe and have fun! he would feel really bad if something happened, though. really bad. will definitely, 100%, without a doubt tell off any creeps bothering you. he can pretend to be your brother or your boyfriend, whatever you need. he'll do it.
nahida is the therapist friend, in a way. she doesn't completely understand human emotions and thought processes, but she is totally happy to listen to whatever you need to get off your chest! it helps her understand you and other people better, and it (hopefully) helps you feel better. her advice is a little difficult to understand, admittedly... she tries her best though! if you don't understand, feel free to tell her. she'll try to be clearer. it may or may not work, and she has a chance of making her point even more confusing, but she really does try.
nilou is the kind of friend who's happy to do activities with you. she's happy to do anything as long as it's with her friend! she'll take you out to the shopping (only for you two to inevitably return with a ridiculous amount of free gifts for nilou, namely from the grand bazaar vendors...) if you'd like, or she can get you guys tickets to some of her favorite performances! she'd also love to teach you her style of dance if you'd be willing to and are able to learn. if you're not able, though, that's okay! she really doesn't mind. i like to think she'd also be super supportive of you and all your pursuits.
the wanderer is, quite simply, the begrudging friend. he will NOT admit that he cares about you and will claim the exact opposite. he'll say that he absolutely does not care whatsoever (but will then, in the same sentence, berate someone for so much as glancing at you in a way he deems to be wrong). he's a bit emotionally inarticulate—and rightfully so—but he really does care. his ways of showing it are just a little odd and unconventional. he acts like every display of affection ever is such a terrible burden that should not have been put on his shoulders, but secretly really loves holding your hand or giving you a hug. also really likes being held. like. he would die before admitting that but he... he just needs to be held, you know?
tighnari is the kind of friend who tells you all sorts of things—he shares his knowledge so freely with you, it's sort of like a love language. he'll tell you all about the local flora, explaining what plants you could eat in the case of an emergency and what ones you should never even touch. also as his friend you are allowed to touch his ears and tail. imagine habitually fidgeting with them while tighnari doesn't even flinch because, as long as you're always careful and gentle, he trusts you enough for that kind of thing. i bet he is very soft. anyway, i can't explain it, but i just know his hugs are warm and comforting and protective. he definitely gives really good hugs.
please consider reblogging, it helps me out quite a lot!

i’m in love with the kaveh disaster dad au you have and i would love to see alhaitham becoming closer with kavehs kid. like mr stoic over there having no idea where those books and supplies about that very niche thing they were talking about yesterday came from
newfound fondness.
summary. alhaitham grows a little more fond of the orphan kaveh insisted on adopting.
trigger & content warnings. no applicable warnings.
tropes, pairings, fic length, & other notes. fluff. alhaitham & child!reader. 0.9k words. they/them pronouns for reader.
author's thoughts. hello dear <3333 i really needed a shorter request to write bc all of my other requests are a bit more lengthy and i'm in just a little bit of a burnout state so i am delighted by this request. i love my adoptive dad kaveh series...... i also realize now that i don't really talk too much about alhaitham and his relationship with [name] compared to how often i talk about tighnari and kaveh's relationship with them. also cyno???? i have neglected him too??????
Tumblr media
at first, alhaitham wasn't keen on bonding with kaveh's adopted child; a child would only disrupt the comfortable life he has both built for himself and worked so hard to maintain. of course... he ended up being wrong. terribly wrong.
all throughout [name]'s first few months of being integrated into their new family in sumeru, they don't spend much time—if any at all—in kaveh and alhaitham's shared house. most of their time is spend in gandharva ville or in sumeru city, the latter being either on the weekends with kaveh or throughout the week with tighnari (if he happens to need something from the city and decides to let them tag along). given this fact, it's not at all a surprise that they didn't really know much of alhaitham, aside from the casual mentions of him from their other sumeru family members.
later on, as kaveh slowly grows into the vacant father role in their life, filling the empty space, they start spending weekends at his house... which is really the scribe's house, but at the time, that detail meant nothing to them. alhaitham never bothers to correct them, either. it doesn't really matter.
sometimes kaveh has to run errands and doesn't want to take them out in the glaring midday sun; they didn't grow up in sumeru, and they're already having a hard time adjusting to the heat (not that he's any better at handling it), so he doesn't want to risk exposing them to the sun at the peak of the day. sometimes he has to go meet one of his clients for a consultation and can't take them with him. who knows? either way, kaveh always makes these trips as quick as possible. his weekends belong to no-one but his kid. his clients find his doting behavior very cute, thankfully, so he hardly ever takes long.
alhaitham is always home during these occurrences (kaveh forbids him from leaving, since he wouldn't so much as dream of leaving his child home alone at such a young and vulnerable age—not that the scribe would leave them home alone, but still). naturally, this led to unavoidable meetings.
alhaitham quickly picked up on the many odd behavioral patterns kaveh's child displayed.
they were quiet—with him, at least. they were happy and expressive like most other children their age with kaveh or tighnari or collei, but with him? they never said a word, only speaking when spoken to, quietly shuffling around the house without so much as a peep... but more importantly, he sure as hell noticed the way they'd peek around the wall and shyly watch him as he read. they never got closer than that, though, and they'd run off if they realized he had seen them. based on this, he simply came to the conclusion that they were shy.
...or anxious, he supposes, but there is a vast difference between anxiety and shyness, and what he sees in them is not necessarily anxiety.
eventually, he does get sick of it. it's not like he worried about coming off as intimidating, no. it's just that if [name] maintains a poor image of him, it would eventually be an inconvenience for him. yes, yes, that was all. he just needed to kill a potentially dangerous rumor at its source before it got vastly out of hand. that's all.
"come here."
the way he sounds when he beckons them over is admittedly a little harsher than what he meant to be, so he's very much glad that they still do come over to him, timidly fidgeting with their sleeves.
"since you seem so interested... sit down, i'll read to you."
"h— huh? really?"
"hurry up before i change my mind."
as alhaitham reads to them, he points out words they may not understand and explains what they mean, also going as far as to help them pronounce some words that they mentioned having trouble with back at gandharva ville.
"oh... tighnari showed me that word, but i can't get it right."
they also can't pronounce tighnari's name correctly, which makes alhaitham's lips quirk upwards ever so slightly.
"here... i'll show you. which word is it that you're having trouble with?"
though it is something of a tutoring session, alhaitham finds that there's something... calming about it. he doesn't bother moving them away as they gradually get closer, only adjusting to accommodate them.
he also doesn't say anything when their weight falls a little heavier on his chest.
...did they really feel safe enough to fall asleep, just like that? the thought makes a fond warmth spread in his chest. he has no intention of telling kaveh or anyone else, though.
kaveh comes home later to see his child curled up asleep in the scribe's arms.
(the second he points it out, which of course he does, alhaitham's cheeks flush a slight pink and he coughs, telling kaveh to come get his kid and claiming that they wouldn't leave him alone.
the architect has never rolled his eyes harder than he did at that.
alhaitham's newfound fondness is obvious, but kaveh decides to leave it alone for now.)
from then on, they are just as excited and bubbly when they see alhaitham as they are when they see any of their other family. he's even gotten accustomed to hoisting them up, balancing them on his hip, and just... carrying them around.
oh, and alhaitham has no idea where those hobby supplies came from. he's got no clue where those books on a hyper-specific topic that they mentioned offhandedly the other day came from. he has no clue. none in the slightest.
...
maybe alhaitham is a little soft for them. just a little.
please consider reblogging, it helps me out quite a lot!

i’m thinking about kaveh first dropping off his kid in ghandarva ville. he did a good job explaining to them that he’ll be back before they know it and that he’ll alway be there for them. before he leaves he feels little hands clutching onto his leg as they just whisper “you promise you’re gonna come back? you won’t leave me, right? you promise you won’t leave me?”
i'll be back.
summary. kaveh finds the strength to leave his child in gandharva ville.
trigger & content warnings. fear of abandonment, references to kaveh's backstory.
tropes, pairings, fic length, & other notes. comfort, soft angst. adoptive dad!kaveh & child!reader. 0.9k words. they/them pronouns for reader.
author's thoughts. wow you just woke up today and chose gentle violence huh anon /LH i love soft angst. hard angst? yeah, it definitely hurts, but soft angst like this? idk. it hits different sometimes!!!
Tumblr media
kaveh did not want to resort to this. he didn't.
the architect truly, sincerely had tried his very best to think of any alternate solutions—maybe he could convince alhaitham to give [name] a chance? no, caring for a child he impulsively decided to pick up off the streets isn't his roommate's responsibility and it really never would be unless the scribe himself decided to take it on, but some people have spontaneous changes of heart! why would alhaitham be any different?
(unfortunately, said man was not going to budge anytime soon. a child would disrupt the comfortable life he had put so much effort into building. kaveh had no choice but to accept that fact. well, really, he knew from the beginning! he was just hoping alhaitham might change.)
in the end, he managed to come up with nothing. he could not think of a single good or attainable option that would allow him to keep them. as much as he hated to admit it, only alhaitham's solution was a viable and reasonable one.
so, here he is, standing in front of tighnari's home in gandharva ville motionlessly with his child held securely in his arms. there were no words in any language that kaveh knew of that could describe what he was feeling. he wordlessly rubs soothing circles on their back.
the silence is impossibly loud.
tighnari does not rush him. he does not so much as even think of complaining. he simply waits quietly with collei at his side, the girl bouncing on her heels slightly in a nervous fidget. she wants to be a good caretaker to [name]; tighnari knows the prospect alone of having to care for them is making her nervous.
kaveh's slightly wavering voice finally breaks the silence:
"you know why i have to leave you here, right?"
they nod quietly, little hands clenched in fists raising up to rub at their watery eyes with their palms—they hope it looks like they're tired and not like they're about to cry, which they are. they hope he doesn't know they're about to cry. they hope he just thinks they're tired from the long journey. they hope he doesn't know the truth.
kaveh knows, of course.
he doesn't say anything about it, though, and only tries to swallow back his own emotions. he tries his best to repress the nauseous feeling stirring in his gut. he tries his best to repress the crawling of his skin. he tries his best to repress the thoughts that this is so impossibly wrong, so impossibly cruel of him.
he hasn't known this child for long, but...
he felt like he was abandoning them.
he felt like he was abandoning his flesh and blood.
absentmindedly, kaveh wondered if this was how his mother felt when she left to fontaine. he hopes not. this feeling is vile. he wouldn't wish it upon his worst enemy.
"and you also know that i'm going to come back all the time to see you, right? and i'm always going to be here if you need me?"
their voice cracks slightly. "yeah."
it's not at all that kaveh doesn't trust tighnari and collei; he does, and he knows they'll take good care of [name], but... still. he wants to be the one taking care of them. he wants to keep them.
he can't.
kaveh then kneels down, and their heart sinks in to the pit of their stomach, despite the fact that they already knew this was inevitably going to happen. just as they dreaded, he sets them down onto their own two feet.
they're reluctant to release their tiny grip from his shirt, but they do so regardless of their hesitance. a slight whimper rises in their throat when kaveh's warmth is gone from them.
kaveh hasn't ever really had to comfort children before.
he's... not sure what to do from here, quite frankly, so he does the first thing that comes to mind.
he leans forward, pressing the smallest, most hesitant of kisses to the crown of their head.
then, he stands up.
he doesn't get very far before one of their little hands is clutching his pant leg, and he inhales sharply, turning back to face them. "[name]..."
kaveh cuts himself off.
their eyes are wide, glittering with the sheen of unshed tears, and their bottom lip is split and cracked—they've either been picking at it or biting it, kaveh notes. how did he not notice before?
in their moment of sadness and stress, their accent peeks through a bit more heavily. it's in a shaky voice on the brink of breaking that they ask, "you promise you're gonna come back, right? you won't leave me, will you?"
...
kaveh earnestly believes he might cry about this when he gets home. oh well. alhaitham will simply have to deal with it.
for now, though, he doesn't cry. he can't.
the architect kneels back down to their height, wiping away the single tear that slid down their cheek with his calloused fingertips. "of course."
"you— you're not gonna leave me, right? you're not leaving me?"
"no. never. i promise, okay?" he whispers. "i'm here, okay? i'm always here if you need me. you just need to tell tighnari. he'll tell me you asked for me and i'll come back here. anytime."
kaveh briefly wonders if he'll regret making such a promise—his clients may suffer if they ask for him at a bad time—but then again...
he can't really say he ever will, not with the way they look at him with such vulnerable trust.
he can't regret it when they're putting their damaged trust into his hands.

Here's how i view the hashira as:
Mitsuri is the bestest big sister ever no i don't accept no everyone loves her and there is a reason
Kyojuro would be the cool big brother along with tengen (his wives would love to take care of you as well)
Sanemi is the mean insane looking uncle that's actually soft for you and only you (he's still mean tho )
Obanai is kinder to you in comparison because mitsuri loves you and he doesn't want to make her sad (he grows to love you but is too shy to accept it)
Muichiro and giyuu are your silent siblings that you go to when you need to be alone but not completely alone y'know like they don't talk much so it's perfect for some quality time
(i don't know enough about gyomei to make an assumption rn)
I was bored so um,,, here you go?
the hashira as a big found family.
summary. the hashira, but with found family dynamics.
trigger & content warnings. no applicable warnings.
tropes, pairings, fic length, & other notes. found family, fluff. mitsuri kanroji & reader, kyojuro rengoku & reader, tengen uzui & reader, sanemi shinazugawa & reader, obanai iguro & reader, muichiro tokito & reader, giyuu tomioka & reader, gyomei himejima & reader, shinobu kocho & reader. 0.7k words. no pronouns for reader.
author's thoughts. 100% agreed!!! i had to make a post based on this ask, it was super cute to me hehe <3 thank you for the idea!!
Tumblr media
mitsuri is the kind and supportive big sister. she is well beloved for a reason, indeed. she's the one you can go to if you need encouragement. oh, some people said that you're bad at your hobby? that you're bad at your job as a demon slayer, if you happen to share her occupation? don't listen to them! you're doing your best, that's all that matters. she won't rudely confront anyone being mean, but she will confront them if necessary. she's just very kind about it, about everything she does <3
kyojuro and tengen are the guy equivalents of mitsuri. kyojuro is so so supportive, just like mitsuri! tengen is also very supportive, but he's the one to lovingly bully you (and later get scolded by his wives for it. he looks like a kicked puppy every time they yell at him LMAO). he's also one of the "no-one can bully them except for me!!" types. it's okay, though. if tengen's being too mean, just go hide behind kyojuro or tengen's wives! kyojuro will laugh joyously and just... hoist you up and run away. he probably takes you out to eat! the wives can and will bully tengen back if you choose to run to them.
sanemi is definitely that uncle. the words he spits towards you in front of everyone else are mean and cruel, but behind closed doors, he's much gentler. gives you little headpats. he feeds dogs with you as a pastime. also he is SO protective man. if someone fucks with you, just go to sanemi. he will chew them OUT. he'll tear them a whole new asshole. he's the second "no-one can bully them except for me!" type.
obanai is an interesting one, i think. on on hand, he is kind of like sanemi in that he's a little mean and harsh with you, but he's generally much gentler than sanemi. he's kind of like a reserved older cousin. you don't see him much, and you don't talk to him as much, but he loves you nonetheless. he's just too shy to admit it. bro also doesn't want to make his wife mitsuri sad, so yeah, he's a lot gentler with you than sanemi is. he will also be so mean to anyone who harasses you.
muichiro is definitely the quiet, absentminded brother. if you just want to quietly watch clouds or listen to the wind, feel free to sit beside mui when he's doing it! you don't even have to bother announcing your presence. he knows you're there. he doesn't mind. mui is also a bit possessive. you're his sibling!! do not ignore him pls, he will be sad. probably clings to your sleeve, regardless of if you're older or younger. another one who will be VERY mean to anyone who harasses you.
giyuu is the reserved brother. he's another one you can go to if you need quiet time. he might offer to share food with you, maybe he'll ask what's on your mind. he's awkward with showing that he cares, but he really does! he cares a lot. he's like... the quiet guardian. he's nicer to anyone who bothers you, but he will confront them and will be very firm about it. he won't bully them back like sanemi or obanai, but he won't be kind like mitsuri.
gyomei is the father of the group. as the oldest hashira, he is the one that has to stop any shenanigans going on. you want to do something stupid with tengen? no. do not. you will make gyomei sad if you get hurt :c he seems like he would give really really good hugs. also, if you fall asleep on his arm, it's okay. he'll stay there with you for a bit, or he'll carry you to bed. he watches out for everyone's health and safety!
shinobu is the responsible big sister. she is ON TOP of your health and will absolutely tear you apart if you fail to take care of yourself. also she is SO mean LMAO... she bullies you lovingly. she also falls into the "no-one can bully them except for me!" category. if someone is mean to you? oh man. oh boy. they had better beg for her forgiveness. an angry shinobu is a scary shinobu. she can be very sweet, though. if you're having a bad day, she will definitely hug you tight and tell you it's okay to feel angry or sad (hypocrite...).

What if hashira reader gets hurt on a mission and when they come back, muichiro finds out? (İ love angst to comfort)
what if hashira!reader was hurt on a mission?
summary. muichiro has kept track of the days with impressive precision for someone with such poor memory. he knew for a fact that it had been far longer than usual. his mentor was gone for much longer than usual.
trigger & content warnings. non-graphic depictions of injury, crying.
tropes, pairings, fic length, & other notes. hurt/comfort. muichiro tokito & hashira mentor!reader. 0.8k words. they/them pronouns for reader.
author's thoughts. this post is an expansion of out of all the clouds in the sky, you are my favorite. DELICIOUS. thank you for the idea anon <33 me too. i love hurt/comfort, it is one of my favorite tropes tbh. so i made this a little angstier than what you mightve meant and made it so that its implied that [name] had an encounter with an upper moon (in my mind, it was upper moon one/kokushibo) bc i am silly like that
Tumblr media
it's been two weeks.
muichiro has kept track of the days with impressive precision for someone with such poor memory. he knew for a fact that it had been far longer than usual. his mentor was gone for much longer than usual. worst of all, he's heard nothing from them. they've replied to not one of his letters. it was as if none of the letters ever arrived to them, as if the messenger crows could not find them. half a month was a very long time to not have the well-beloved cloud hashira around. it was a long time to not hear anything from or about them.
in that time, he's been on a variety of missions himself, all of which were concluded within a day or two.
it's when muichiro is coming back from his last mission within the two week period that he finally gets some kind of news regarding his mentor's whereabouts. the news comes in the form of his crow.
"tokito-sama," his crow caws, batting her ridiculously long eyelashes as she settles on his shoulder, "[surname]-sama has been found and has been escorted back to the butterfly estate."
his heart stutters in his chest at her ambiguous statement. that told him nothing. what he needed to know was if they were breathing or not; either way, he'd be at their side in an instant. he would much prefer the former, though.
"...are they alive?"
"yes, but—"
that's all the confirmation he needs to speed off in the direction of the butterfly estate.
muichiro gets to shinobu's estate within the hour, his crow having long since abandoned him out of fear of getting blown away from the speeds at which he was running. the insect hashira is gentle when she tells him that the cloud hashira is unconscious. she's even gentler when she describes the severity of their gashes and cuts to him.
"they've lost a lot of blood," she had said. "there is... unfortunately, no way to know if they will pull through or not. only time will tell."
muichiro sits at their bedside for days.
surprisingly, he hasn't been called away for a mission. he wonders if oyakata-sama knew that he'd be rendered so... helpless by his mentor's injury. would they scold him if they were awake? probably. he should be out on the field, but he is not. in his defense, oyakata-sama has not assigned him anything. he'd most likely be able to function if he had to, and yet... he hasn't needed to. oyakata-sama has not forced him to do so.
muichiro sits at their bedside for what feels like an eternity, absentmindedly watching the slow rising and falling of their chest. as such, he's there when they begin to stir.
he nervously clasps one of their hands between his, leaning over their body and quietly calling their name. they stir even more, eyelids twitching. he calls out to them again.
relief rolls over him in waves when they open their eyes.
"hehe..." they laugh hoarsely, tired eyes crinkling with fondness. he feels their fingers shake slightly in his hands, and suddenly they're holding one of his hands back, giving it a weak squeeze. "hi, mui-kun."
"who did this?"
"wh— what?"
"who did this?"
their breath catches in their throat. they're taken aback by the sheer rage burning in his eyes; it's as if he's been blessed with a brief moment of clarity from the never-ending haze in his mind. they're hardly even awake yet, but they can see his fury clear as day.
then, their expression hardens slightly.
"i will not tell you."
he looks betrayed, like a kicked puppy. they almost falter.
"[surname]-sama... please, i—"
"no." they remain firm nonetheless. the sheer authority in their tone triggers a heavy wave of nostalgia to wash over him, though he cannot quite explain why. who was the last person to be so hard on him..? he can't recall. "this conversation ends here. you will not ask me again. do you understand?"
"i..." he trails off. his throat tightens. "why?"
"because you'll get yourself killed if i tell you." he goes quiet. then, they gingerly reach up to his face, tenderly brushing their knuckles across his cheekbone. the moment of firmness is gone in an instant, and their eyes are soft again. "i have to be hard on you. you won't listen otherwise. you understand, don't you? you're a stubborn one. you don't listen if someone isn't firm."
his mentor's soft touch snaps him out of the daze he was in. it's then that he realizes he had been crying.
"shh... it's alright. don't cry. come here."
their arms open for him. he gladly accepts their invitation, cautiously kneeling down and laying his head on their chest. to properly hug them would be forcing them to sit up; he doesn't want to disturb them anymore than he already has. they've just woken up and they're already having to console him.
a visceral sob tears from his throat. his shoulders shake.
how humiliating.
their hands smooth over his hair with such love and care that it overwhelms him.
"it's okay, mui-kun," they murmur kindly. "i'm okay."

So I JUST got this idea after reading your mist recent adoptive dad!Kaveh piece and now it WILL NOT leave my mind. You emphasized on how his child's emotions are his emotions and how he's much more empathetic when it comes to them. So naturally, as a connoisseur of all things angst, I keep thinking how Kaveh will handle it when his child has their first heartbreak! Being so emotional himself will he be able to hold up or will he cry with them? and I wonder what the rest of them will do, there's just so many possibilities
how is [name]'s first heartbreak handled?
summary. how does [name]'s platonic co-parenting family respond to their first breakup?
trigger & content warnings. gaslighting, tough breakups, abusive behavior, lots of tears, & medical malpractice (briefly and pretty non-seriously).
tropes, pairings, fic length, & other notes. hurt/comfort. tighnari & reader, alhtiaham & reader, adoptive dad!kaveh & reader, cyno & reader, collei & reader. 1k words. they/them pronouns for reader. this post is an expansion of what if kaveh adopted a child?
author's thoughts. THIS IS SO TASTY THANK YOU FOR SENDING THIS.... ive never been in this situation before nor do i really understand what heartbreak feels like so i just kind of went with the flow. focused mostly on what [name]'s lil family would do and how they'd all react. anyway keep sending me your adoptive dad!kaveh thoughts guys i love this kind of interaction haha <3
Tumblr media
tighnari is furious. alhaitham is level-headed and logical as usual, but not indifferent. kaveh cries with them. cyno is livid. collei is calm, comforting.
kaveh is very sensitive to his kid's mood; i have indeed emphasized this already. he knows when something is wrong. he senses the shift in their mood almost instantly. depending on where they are, he may or may not be the first to know.
do they return to gandharva ville after they break up with their first love (for the sake of angst, let's say it's because the ex-lover in question sought to abuse and take advantage of their selflessness, but [name] was not having it, and they were gaslit upon pointing it out and ended up being called needy)? if so, tighnari will know first.
archons forbid their ex ever show up at gandharva ville for any kind of treatment. tighnari will treat them, yes, but he will make it hell. he will make it worse before making it better. medical malpractice? no, that's not what it is, silly. he's not even a licensed doctor! how can he commit malpractice if he doesn't practice medicine in the first place?
...
tighnari can think all he wants about doing such a thing, but he really wouldn't. he couldn't do something like that. he'd have a guilty conscience forever if he did. however, that does not mean he won't give [name]'s ex attitude. oh archons, he has all the attitude in the world to spare for the asshole who hurt his nibling (a/n: that's the gn term for niece or nephew).
[name] is not needy. sensitive and clingy at times, perhaps, but needy? tighnari scoffs at the idea. they're self-sufficient, if anything. the simple truth is that [name] likes affection because they were spoiled with it when they were little. the fact that their first love gaslit them in such a disgusting way makes the forest watcher's blood boil.
"[name]..." he'd sigh, heart squeezing painfully in his chest as he held them against his chest, unable to do much of anything except listen to the way they sobbed. tighnari's tail instinctively curled around their waist. "it really is not your fault. some people are just... horrible like that. ultimately, you deserve better, so this is for the best. it may not feel that way right now, but one day, it will."
do they return to kaveh and alhaitham's shared home instead? is kaveh home? if not, then alhaitham will know first. it isn't improbable. kaveh is often away on work trips, so it isn't hard to imagine that the akademiya's scribe would know first.
alhaitham hates seeing kaveh cry. he wishes he would stop expending himself to a harmful extent for the sake of others.
he also hates seeing [name] cry. why should they spend time crying over a manipulative asshole who had no capacity to understand them as a person? they shouldn't, and yet... they are.
like tighnari, alhaitham sighs. he's stroking their hair away from their face with one hand, stopping every now and then to gently pat their tears dry, even though his efforts are fruitless; they end up crying more regardless of how many times he dries their face. their head is laid in his lap. it's the least the scribe can do until kaveh gets home.
"[name], they're not worth your time. you were raised to be kind and emotionally articulate. it isn't your fault that they tried to take advantage of that."
he sighs again.
"i'm proud that you refused to let them manipulate you."
alhaitham's blatant, clearly-worded praise is rare. it soothes their soul a little.
if kaveh is home, however...
they will be sobbing in his arms within the hour. he always knows when something is wrong, and when something is wrong? he's there to support and console them. that is what any good father would do. kaveh's heart shatters on their behalf when they manage to choke out between tears that their love had so callously tried to abuse the kindness they offered to all those around them.
kaveh undoubtedly cries with them, holding their figure tightly against his.
"honey, it—" he chokes, aggressively wiping his face with one hand while the other remains secured around their waist. "it's not you, okay? it's not your fault. people, they— they like to try and take advantage of things they don't have. kind people don't take advantage of kindness. good people don't take advantage of goodness. you did well. you handled it well."
cyno will always be the last to know, regardless of what order everyone else finds out in.
cyno is also the most furious.
it's probably in [name]'s ex's best interest to flee the country. the wrath of general mahamatra cyno is an utterly horrifying thing to be the target of. he won't physically hurt them, no (although he would have to put all of his self control into practice in order to not knock all of the kid's teeth out...), but he will make it very clear that he does not want them anywhere near his nibling ever again unless it's to apologize, and even then... he had better not see them lingering too long.
the next time he sees kaveh and his kid, cyno plants a firm hand on [name]'s shoulder, giving it a reassuring squeeze, saying, "they won't bother you again."
a slight chill runs up their spine at that. "...what did you do to them..?"
"don't worry about it."
anyway congrats to [name]'s manipulative ex! they have made enemies with four of the most influential people in sumeru <3
(and as a little bonus treat:
collei, now in her late teens, is some kind of mix between tighnari, alhaitham, and kaveh. she's not mad. she's just disappointed, really; she loves [name] like a little sibling and just doesn't understand why anyone would knowingly hurt them. she knows very well that such cruel people do exist—she was the victim of one such person, after all—but... it's so hard for her to fathom. collei is very gentle and understanding in this situation, letting them cry on her shoulder for as long as they need to. once their tears have dried, she takes them out on patrol with her.
she makes them fresh pita pockets over a fire and spends the afternoon laughing and joking around with them to help them feel better. she'll even tell one of cyno's awful jokes if it will make them smile. <3)

i have thoughts
okay so my personal favorite hc about scara/wanderer is that he has doll joints but hoyo is a *redacted* and also he has cracks on his skin after he fights (which he has to fix)
SO
İMAGİNE: blind reader, a little sibling to wanderer (maybe theyve also suffered from dottore who knows) and wanderer is kinda insecure and reader is like stfu idc
(im totally not planning on writing a romantic version on this totally mhm --> is in writers block and has been thinking about this for *months*)
thoughts pretty please
the wounds on your skin.
summary. the wanderer does not get wounded like a human does.
trigger & content warnings. blindness written by a sighted person (i am visually impaired but not blind, so if something is inaccurate, please correct me!), insecure wanderer is implied.
tropes, pairings, fic length, & other notes. slight reverse comfort. wanderer & blind!younger sibling!reader. 0.4k words. they/them pronouns used for reader. wanderer has doll joints in this.
author's thoughts. i can be the platonic to your romantic hehe 🫶🫶🫶 i agree though i LOVEEE wanderer with doll joints. and i also love wanderer who does not get wounded like a normal human.
Tumblr media
"is something wrong?"
the wanderer peers in his sibling's direction, scoffing, despite his nervous fingers habitually picking at and tracing the wounds on his skin that he had yet to repair. the cracks. his elbow joint clicks slightly as he raises one arm, resting his chin in his palm. he shot them a look he knew they couldn't see.
...though, they could almost certainly feel it, given the sharp intensity of his eyes. if they did, they pretended not to notice.
"i have no idea what you're talking about."
it was their turn to scoff now, turning their body towards him. their eyes didn't quite land on his face, but did land in his general direction. he knew they were scrutinizing him even without their sight. "please. you've been quiet all day since we encountered those fatui agents earlier."
he doesn't say anything.
"...is there something on your mi—"
"i'm sore," he snaps, then winces a bit when the harshness of his own tone reaches his ears. he softens his voice a bit when he goes on. "i'm just sore, [name]. that's all."
unbothered, they pointed out, "you don't get sore."
"yes, i do."
"no, you don't," they insisted, "just— ugh, gods, brother, is it the cracks?"
he, again, fails to respond.
this time, they don't say anything either.
their hands blindly reach out for his, squeezing his fingers in theirs when they do find his hands. a thoughtful hum rumbles in their throat as their thumbs rub comfortingly over his knuckles.
"you're not human, so i won't say those cracks don't make you any less human, because you never were in the first place—"
if he had a heart, he's sure it would have stopped in his chest. had anyone else said something like that to him... maybe they wouldn't be dead where they stood (nahida really wouldn't like that, he thinks), but they would have most certainly left crying.
since it was his sibling, he chose to hear them out.
"—rather... you are no less of a living thing because of it. you have feelings and thoughts and you deserve to be treated as such." they gently turn one of his palms over, releasing the other. with tender fingers, they traced up his forearm, until they finally encountered one of the cracks in his porcelain skin. calloused fingertips carefully traced the area of the wound. "you're not any less alive simply because you get hurt differently than humans do."
the wanderer still does not reply. he feels his throat tighten ever so slightly. they don't say anything else, hoping that their point had been communicated with those words alone.
his skin was cold against theirs, but nonetheless, both the wanderer and his sibling found solace in the contact.
please consider reblogging, it helps me out quite a lot!

platonic requests you say?! well,, how about xiao or scaramouche (or both hehe but just do whichever one you’re more inspired for!) with a child reader that’s kinda like a little sibling figure for them, who just follows them around aimlessly & doesn’t listen when they’re told to go away until Big Brother Figure has to accept that they just have this Stray Child attached to them now?! thank you if you decide to do this!! <3
what's with this sassy, lost child?
summary. scaramouche is not a good person.
trigger & content warnings. implied child abuse and canon-typical scara lore.
tropes, pairings, fic length, & other notes. found family, fluff, alight angst (?). scaramouche & child!reader. 0.5k words. they/them pronouns used for reader.
author's thoughts. the title is funny; the brainrot is... less funny.... anyways, anon i love this idea! i ended up only doing scara as i had a lot of trouble with getting ideas for xiao's part? its weird since i really like xiao but i had no inspiration for him. additionally, i only wrote about fatui!scara rather than wanderer!scara. if you ever want a wanderer!scara version of this, just shoot me another request and ill be happy to do it <3 this ended up being kind of similar to a character study, which i find super interesting actually. it wasn't meant to be like that but i think its kinda cool c:
Tumblr media
scaramouche is not a good person.
he has no issue admitting to this—he is cruel, violent, and temperamental and has no qualms with resorting to methods equally so to get what he wants. despite this... he will not commit crimes against children. that is one thing il dottore, the man very much responsible for his present state of mind, does that he won't.
the balladeer will never be caught dead being the one to take away a child's innocence and hope.
a child's innocence is unlike that of any other. it is fragile and delicate and something to be protected rather than battered and bruised. he didn't get to bask in his own innocence for very long; his view of the world around him began to skew towards darkness the moment ei threw him out as if he was nothing more than a doll that lost its novelty. he knew all too well what it felt like to be thrown away.
maybe that's why he kept them around.
"what are you doing?" he demands, turning to the kid he begrudgingly settled on keeping around. it was mostly just to spite the ignorant fatui agent that had tried to assault them after finding them lost in a research camp. it... definitely had nothing to do with the fact that he saw himself in them, that he saw kunikuzushi staring back at him when he looked down at them. not at all. definitely not, because empathy was something the balladeer absolutely did not have the capacity for.
(deep down, he knows he's only lying to himself. number six was once so gentle and kind and curious. he wasn't always this way.
regardless of how he feels about it, kunikuzushi will always be a part of him.)
"it's raining," is all they say in reply, scooting closer to the harbinger. he shoves them away with gentleness unheard of from someone like him, and they whine, adding on, "it's not even warm rain. it's cold."
"freeze, then."
their lower lip juts out into an intentionally overdramatic pout at that. "big brother's so mean to me..."
he glares down at them.
he does not, however, offer any opposition other than a soft scoff when they scoot back under his hat.
scaramouche's sharp glare redirects to a fatuus that stared at them a little too long as he rests a hand on their head, calloused fingertips rubbing little circles into their damp scalp. they seem happy with the contact—happy enough not to notice the way their guardian's eyes narrow further at the foolish, unmoving agent. it's a warning, an unspoken threat, a promise of a fate worse than death if his underling does not back off. the fatui agent seems to understand well enough, scurrying to get back to work.
the balladeer's hands are drenched in an inconceivable amount of blood and tears that no amount of rain will wash away—some belonging to him, but the majority belonging to his victims. he fears that the crimson will spread onto them like some kind of disease, consuming whatever innocence they have that he's tried so hard to preserve. the worst part is that he knows his fear isn't irrational. even a worm will turn.
number six of the fatui harbingers does not remember what it means to be gentle, but for them...
he's willing to try.
he's desperate to try.

what if kaveh adopted a child?
summary. kaveh adopts a random child.
trigger & content warnings. implied past trauma.
tropes, pairings, fic length, & other notes. comfort, found family. kaveh & child!reader. 0.6k words. they/them pronouns used for reader.
author's thoughts. hehe kaveh <3 this was written before the fontaine release, so i dont know how villainous focalors may or may not be but i implied her to be a lil bit villain-like. anyway i probably wont expand upon this one, this brainrot is just a silly little thought i had
Tumblr media
kaveh is a man with a heart much too big for his chest.
alhaitham can't really say he's surprised when kaveh tries to sneak in an orphaned, seemingly nonverbal child barely any older than six or seven. they're clinging to the blonde like a lifeline, face buried in his neck and little hands clutching the fabric of his shirt. given how frail they look...
"quit staring. they came from fontaine," kaveh scoffed, one of his hands absently toying with the tips of their knotted hair, "if you must know."
there's a little bit of surprise on alhaitham's face at that—a child that small ran all the way from fontaine to sumeru city? did they communicate that to kaveh, or did he just assume based on their attire?—but it washes away quickly as he turns back to his book. kaveh almost dares to think he'll get off easily at his roommate's brief silence. he should've known better. just as he starts to walk away... "you can't keep them."
what alhaitham doesn't know is that they avoided so, so many others in sumeru city but approached kaveh because they felt safer approaching him rather than anyone else.
it annoys him beyond belief that the scribe fails to understand how intuitive children are (he's far too petty to admit that maybe it's because alhaitham doesn't know what happened, that he wasn't there to witness such a sweet little one approaching him while flinching away from others). they approached kaveh because, in their mind, he felt safer than other people.
there's no way in hell he's abandoning them.
"it's not your choice to make."
"it's my house."
"what do you suggest i do, then?!" he snaps, quickly regaining his composure when the little one in his arms trembles. a sense of guilt weighs on his chest; the poor thing must be exhausted, hungry, and possibly even sick or injured. they don't need any more stress. as infuriating as alhaitham can be... the blonde is more concerned with the child. kaveh's voice lowers significantly as he continues, "i'm not going to just leave them on the streets in a foreign nation."
"oh, i don't know," alhaitham muses, "maybe head to fontaine and find their parents?"
"gone."
both of the roommates fall silent at the little, meek voice. they peek upwards at kaveh.
a sense of calmness washes over them at the gentle, sympathetic expression on his face. he... looks like he could cry for them, actually. they don't have the capacity to completely understand the extent of the architect's empathy quite yet, and so, instead of trying to process why he looks so utterly bothered, they settle on laying their head back on his shoulder. he makes a very nice pillow.
"they're, um, gone," they repeat again, a little louder so the objectively scarier man could hear them with clarity. despite their sleepiness, they do their best to speak clearly and steadily. "l— lady focalors took them."
"...take them to gandharva ville."
kaveh doesn't reply to that, merely walking past his roommate and heading towards the bathroom to run a warm bath for them.
he knows he should. he's busy and won't be able to provide such a fragile thing with the care and attention they need to grow properly, not to mention his looming debt. he also knows that tighnari and collei and all the other forest rangers would take very good care of them until he rids himself of debt or until they're old enough to care for themselves. he knows, but... he just doesn't want to get rid of them. it pains kaveh to even think about doing something like that.
...
archons... he sincerely hopes that he can get rid of his debt and do it fast.
please consider reblogging, it helps me out quite a lot!

dad!pantalone iii (ft. the harbingers).
summary. the harbingers all have their own choice nicknames for pantalone's child.
trigger & content warnings. dottore clones being... dottore clones. you know? yeah.
tropes, pairings, fic length, & other notes. fluff. dad!pantalone & reader, la signora & reader, acaramouche & reader, il dottore & reader, arlecchino & reader, columbina & reader, childe & reader, pulcinella & reader. 0.7k words. they/them pronouns for reader. prev | next
author's thoughts. i wrote this series quite some time ago but i think about it all the time. it was honestly so fun to write LMAO i miss it sometimes.....
Tumblr media
the harbingers rarely seem to call pantalone's child by their name. they all have their own nicknames for the little one. let's see what they are, shall we?
starting off with the man himself, pantalone has a collection of nicknames he uses to refer to his kid, from something as simple and tender as 'little one' or 'my dove' to the more embarrassing 'my gem.' the latter becomes one of those nicknames that begins to embarrass his child as they get older, especially in their preteen years (by the time they're 15, 16, 17... they've gotten used to it). he finds it funny, the way they fluster and stutter and complain about that nickname being very embarrassing when he uses it in public. he's almost pouty when the time comes that they don't find it embarrassing anymore. he also takes fondly to a simple 'darling' or 'love.'
la signora's nicknames are a little more... extravagant, for lack of a better word. after they burned the balladeer's coat, she took to calling them 'my little flame.' all of her nicknames are oddly fire related. she has little shame calling them such things in public, and she likes to think her nicknames function as something of a warning sign; after all, they do have the capacity to be destructive. everyone should be aware that they are no easy target, she thinks. there are some, however, that she tends to only use when there are fewer people around, such as 'firefly.' additionally, she seems to call them 'dearest' rather often. it's the most "normal" of her nicknames.
scaramouche calls them 'pyromaniac,' and does so very bitterly, might i add. end of story. he will never forget what they did despite the fact that they were a child with poor pyro control when they did it.
il dottore, in his omega build... well, nothing he calls them is even remotely affectionate. 'brat,' 'menace,' the list goes on. he could fill an entire book with the mean nicknames he uses on them. they find it quite funny, actually. he can't physically or psychologically hurt them, so he resorts to shitty nicknames? pathetic. this, however, tends to vary between segments. some—keyword: some—of both the younger and older segments are actually quite fond of them, and use 'mon petit monstre' on them... is that a term of endearment or are they being harassed?? they have no clue. they speak the common tongue of fontaine, so they know what it means, and yet... they really can't tell if it comes from a place of fondness or not. zeta, more commonly known as webttore, will not hesitate to call them a bitch but if anyone else does it, he might end up adding another heinous crime to his already extensive list.
arlecchino, the woman who raised them until about the age of five, tends to simply call them by their name, unlike most of the harbingers. sometimes, though, she'll call them 'honey' or 'my dear' in a very gentle, tender tone. now, if any fatui agent catches her doing this... it won't end well. she's soft only for them and columbina but she doesn't need people knowing about that. she has a reputation, after all. the knave isn't all that kind, no, but she did grow fond of them, and she still holds a small grudge against the regrator for leaving them with her for so long.
columbina, oh, her nicknames are easily the sweetest—'angel,' 'sweetheart,' 'lovely,' it goes on. she and dottore are on opposite ends of the nickname scale. every pet name she calls them is laced with only the utmost saccharine sweetness. contrary to popular belief, it comes from a place of genuine fondness.
childe's nicknames are a little different. they're all friendly and perhaps a bit too casual, given the fact that [name] could ruin his life very easily. 'kiddo,' 'bud,' 'kid,' archons... its almost as if childe forgets that they aren't too much like other children their age. what other snezhnayan child their age is the most lucrative target in all of teyvat, yet simultaneously the most untouchable?... perhaps it's simply because he sees another sibling in them. who knows?
pulcinella's nicknames are the typical "old man talking to his grandchild" nicknames—namely 'dear' and 'young one.'
please consider reblogging, it helps me out quite a lot!

general friendship headcanons (liyue).
summary. what is it like being friends with some of liyue's citizens?
trigger & content warnings. no applicable warnings.
tropes, pairings, fic length, & other notes. fluff. baizhu & reader, beidou & reader, qiqi & reader, xiao & reader, zhongli & reader. 0.7k words. no pronouns for reader.
author's thoughts. second part of the series!!!! i'm doing inazuma later because i don't know inazuma characters as well as i know liyue + mondstadt characters... basically i'm procrastinating LMAO i do write for ningguang and childe but i skipped out on them because (1) im burnt out but also want to post something (2) bc im not completely confident in my ability to write them yet rip
Tumblr media
baizhu is the kind of friend who's always on top of your health—mental, physical, or otherwise. he'll always remind you to take breaks if you've been working on something for a long time. he'll remind you to eat if you're the kind of person who forgets to. he'll remind you to take any meds if you have them, and if you run out? don't worry, he'll refill your prescription for you (only after very thoroughly assesing you to make sure the medications you take are right for your body's needs, of course). he's honestly quite doting! very attentive to your needs overall. i also like to think he's keen on listening to you talk about your interests or hobbies. he listens and remembers.
beidou is the fun friend who'll take you on all her fun adventures, and if you can't accompany her for any reason, she's happy to relay her tales to you! she's got storytelling skills comparable to only the most famous, admired bards and poets from all across teyvat, even if she herself isn't really aware of it. she's the kind of friend who can take you on all kinds of fun adventures—whether those adventures be out on the wild sea or on sturdy land, she's your lady if you're looking for a bit of a thrill. she'll definitely keep you very safe, too. she's strong enough to protect both herself and you, so don't worry about running into trouble (which is definitely a bit inevitable if you accompany her around). she'll take care of it!
qiqi is the kind of friend who's like your clingy little sister. see, once she actually manages to remember your face and name, she will virtually never forget it. she has a little page dedicated to you and everything about you in her journal. qiqi never wants to forget you, so she does her best to remember! she'll follow you around like a lost duckling, cling to your sleeve, or lay her head comfortably on your shoulder if you're both willing and able to carry her. she also reminds you to take care of yourself... she has, without a doubt, picked up this habit from baizhu, but it's nonetheless very touching. she'll make little handmade gifts for you, maybe she'll pick flowers and give them to you. everything she does for you is soft and endearing. qiqi is very much like an attached baby sister, indeed.
xiao is the kind of friend who's always there for you... at least, physically, anyway. he doesn't have the words to comfort you very well and he can be a bit standoffish and quiet, but he will be there if you need him. getting close to xiao is no easy task, so if you manage to, he'll definitely hold you very dear to his heart and would never forgive himself if he were to let something happen to you. he'll always be there to fend off any danger that threatens your safety; all you have to do is call out for him. he'll be there. he swears it. he's the one you can sit in calm, safe silence with. there's no pressure to fill the quiet with small talk. xiao is someone who could simply enjoy your presence without needing all the conversation to go with it (but i totally think he'd listen if you talked).
zhongli is the kind of friend who's so willing and delighted to share his knowledge with you. if you want him to talk, he can, and can do so for as long as you're willing to listen, even if that is for hours. he could even talk you to sleep if you so desired (who wouldn't fall asleep listening to the soothing tones of his voice, really?). he's the one you could take with you to museums or libraries or ancient ruins if you're into that kind of thing—if he happens to recognize something while you're out and exploring some ruins, he'll offer to tell you about them! he's so poor at hiding the fact that he was morax, so honestly... yeah, he might never tell you directly, but surely you could figure it out on your own? regardless of if he tells you, if he doesn't... i doubt it would change anything.

dad!pantalone brainrot (ft. il dottore & baizhu) iv.
summary. when their health issues flare up, there are very few doctors that their father will permit to treat them.
trigger & content warnings. implied canon-typical dottore violence, (empty) threats, chronic illness, blood, mentions of death, etc.
tropes, pairings, fic length, & other notes. hurt/comfort. dad!pantalone & reader, il dottore & reader, baizhu & reader. 0.7k words. they/them pronouns for reader. prev | next
author's thoughts. this series is never ending... in my defense, it was going to be a full-length fanfic but i never ended up pursuing that idea. anyway baizhu and pantalone are brothers here! idc if it ends up being non canon, its canon in my heart 💖 this got... slightly angstier than i intended. whoops!
Tumblr media
when it comes to his child's health, pantalone only trusts two doctors in all of teyvat.
(he objectively trusts one far more than the other, though.)
il dottore is an... unfortunately large part of their life. the regrator did eventually accept that it was inevitable, given how "close" he and the doctor tend to be. dottore is one of their many tutors, though admittedly, his teaching methods are probably a little concerning... at least [name] is proficient in anatomy and physiology! perhaps pantalone should reconsider whether or not his child should be left alone with him. he'd somewhat gotten over his initial concerns about leaving them with him and his segments after seeing zeta nearly tear someone's head clean off in their defense, but perhaps it's time to reconsider! the second may not be hurting them, per se, but he is creating a desensitized little thing.
(though... it may very well be for the best, given their harbinger lineage. they cannot afford to be soft or squeamish. pantalone knows this very well.)
the second fatui harbinger is also largely responsible for making sure they're in good health. semiannual check-ups are a standard practice as opposed to annual ones; they did happen to inherit their father's poor immune system. dottore once offhandedly commented that it probably came more from the regrator's brother, as even pantalone isn't as prone to illness as his child is. the doctor has never met baizhu personally, but pantalone knows he's right. they tire so easily... sometimes it makes him sick with worry. regardless, it runs in the family, and some get it worse than others, so check-ups are more common.
(check-ups are always an amusing sight when zeta is around, wordlessly fiddling with a needle suspiciously close to their neck.
"put that needle in my throat and i will tear out yours."
he only smiles at them.
their smug aura does not mock him; contrary to popular belief, he finds it quite funny and endearing! they are the only person that can get away with talking shit like that. not even the other dottore clones can talk to him like that without getting a violent response. he lets it slide with omega because he has to, but beyond that...
he's fond of them. he's just too emotionally constipated to admit it.)
however, sometimes pantalone doesn't completely trust dottore not to harm them when they're seriously ill and vulnerable. he knows dottore would gain nothing by bringing them harm, and yet...
archons, becoming a father has made him awfully protective, hasn't it? surely he wasn't like this before he took them back from arlecchino?
times like those, times in which their illness would act up to the point of leaving them bedridden, making them shiver and tremble and spit up blood... times like those are when he calls upon baizhu.
he'd understand their illness better than dottore ever could, anyway. pantalone was right to make such an assumption.
"has your father taught you nothing of energy management?"
"energy management?" they scoffed sarcastically, the warmth from the cup of herbal tea in their hands soothing the chill in their trembling fingers, "from the man who hardly takes care of himself? please. he acts as if he isn't also chronically ill. he'll literally work himself to death if he isn't more careful. it's... worrying, actually." they tapped their nails against the cup mindlessly, chewing on the corner of their lip.
anxiety was not good for their health, especially not when they were already this ill.
"oh?" baizhu's interest was very much piqued at that, and their lips twitched upwards slightly at the way his hand stroked over their head calmingly. "in that case, i'll have to teach you my methods, but... he's been taking poor care of himself, has he?"
"the poorest."
"i see. do tell me everything, for... future reference."
they knew very well that 'future reference' meant a firm chiding. oh well! it's not like they purposely exposed their father's poor habits, no no. they were a loyal child. they'd never do something so terrible and unforgivable...
unless it was baizhu who asked, of couse. it would be awfully rude to withhold secrets about his own relatives from him, after all!
pantalone may get sick with worry over their health, but the sentiment is very much mutual.

dad!pantalone.
summary. what would the regrator be like as a father?
trigger & content warnings. child abandonment (not really; pantalone just hands his kid over to arlecchino rather than raising them himself).
tropes, pairings, fic length, & other notes. fluff, slight angst. pantalone & child!reader, arlecchino & child!reader. 0.5k words. they/them pronouns for reader. prev | next
author's thoughts. i'm starting to post more on tumblr than i am on quotev ummm.... whoops! /lh i was drafting a series based on this concept, but i honestly don't know if it'll ever see the light of day, so instead, i will ramble about my thoughts! pantalone is nearsighted in this brainrot because i'm nearsighted and therefore can write from experience.
Tumblr media
"he's evil" i know but hear me out!!
i think pantalone would be a good dad, but not at first.
no, no, at first he hands his child off to arlecchino to raise in the house of hearth, because there's no way in hell he's just... abandoning them. the thought alone makes him sick. the thought of his own little one potentially being exposed to harm and poverty like he was? unacceptable. forbidden. he hates that thought.
even if he's handed them off to the knave, she finds it awfully suspicious (and quite annoying...) that he's always visiting them. constantly. all the time. doesn't he have things to do..?
"i thought you had no interest in caring for them, regrator," she'd huff, recalling the funds he donates that are specifically designated to be used on them alone (which are always enough to fund the entire orphanage for at least a month), "do you want them or not?"
he doesn't have a conclusive answer, really.
by the time they're five, they already know very well who he is and why he's always around. well... perhaps not why he's always around. they don't really understand it. they just know that he is their father and that their mother is nowhere to be found. arlecchino said that it's complicated, why he's always around but doesn't seem to want to keep them.
becoming of age to start training was easily the worst thing to happen to them.
they were smart, as evidenced by their excellent grades.
they, however, were not strong.
repeatedly, they were embarrassed in front of the harbingers (those who made time to be there, anyway). over. and over. and over. it's humiliating. they hate it.
at least they aren't being made fun of, but they know very well that's only because everyone knows their origins.
still, it's not their fault that they just... aren't that strong.
it doesn't help that they can't see anything clearly if it's more than a few inches away from their face.
...
of course, pantalone notices this. they have his eyes in more ways than one—both in terms of color, and in terms of the fact that they can't fucking see. he gets it. perhaps that's why they're struggling so terribly?
then again, he isn't all that physically strong either. he wasn't blessed by the gods, nor was it easy for him to defend himself. it was his influential power that earned him his position.
so, when their training is over, all of the other children scurrying off out of fear of the harbingers, pantalone lowers himself to their height with a kind smile.
(he's a man of prestige, but for them...
he supposes he can tolerate being so close to the floor for a few moments.)
he's gentle when he brushes the hair away from their face, whispering sweetly, "would you like to come home with me, little one? this life isn't suited for someone of your bloodline."
all they can do is nod breathlessly.

dad!pantalone ii.
summary. the eighth and ninth both adore [name].
trigger & content warnings. slight angst (but only if you squint), fire & accidentally lighting a harbinger on fire. no-one gets seriously hurt though.
tropes, pairings, fic length, & other notes. fluff, slight angst. pantalons & child!reader, la signora & child!reader. 0.7k words. they/them pronouns used for reader. < previous | next >
author's thoughts. i sort of implied where in genshin's timeline we are in this post; collei is implied to be present as one of dottore's subjects and is suggested to be around [name]'s age!! so yk, several years before the traveler appears in mond.
Tumblr media
without a doubt, pantalone absolutely adores his child. for them, he would tear down teyvat in its entirety.
he's completely enamored with them. he's always spoiling them; his love language is gift-giving, after all, especially in their case. he has the mora to spare. what else would he use it on? funding dottore's experiments? pfft, please. he'd rather spend it on his lovely child!! it's his money, he can do what he wants as long as it doesn't noticeably affect the fatui's funding. additionally, he finds himself cherishing physical touch just as much as he does gift-giving—the fatui agents in his division claim that he's generally less irritable if he has his child in his arms while he's working.
of course, pantalone can't always have them around. he doesn't want them to be too deeply involved in his fatui work... not yet, anyway. it'll be a different story when they're a little older. personally, he thinks they'd make a very impressive fatui debt collector one day; everyone's already terrified of upsetting them. if they became a debt collector, such fear would increase tenfold. they'll end up joining the fatui one day regardless, so why not as a debt collector?
for the most part, he doesn't trust anyone to watch them, not even his own business partner. what fool would trust il dottore with a child? not pantalone, that's for certain, especially since this particular child is his heir, his flesh and blood. the regrator knows about what the doctor is doing to that little girl with eleazar. archons forbid that kind of treatment was directed at his gem. dottore and all of his segments know damn well not to bring any kind of harm to them, but still. the ninth would rather not leave them with the second unless it was absolutely necessary.
he settles on enlisting the help of la signora.
as arrogant and cunning she is—what harbinger isn't, really?—the regrator knows very well how fond she is of his child. he's not blind to her blatant affections towards them.
(little did he know, sometimes she wonders if this is the child she never got to raise with her lover gifted to her by the heavens above. signora knows better, but the thought is comforting. she even shared her name with them. such a sweet little one shouldn't be calling her a name like la signora.
the first time they called her 'mother rosalyne,' she may or may not have shed a few tears, knowing very well that their mother seemed to have disappeared off the face of teyvat after leaving their newborn self with pantalone. 'they don't have a mother,' she thought to herself one day, 'so I will gladly take up that role. no harm shall come to them for as long as I live.')
he has little issue leaving them alone with her, as they also seem quite fond of the woman.
one day, she suggests teaching them to harness pyro based on the old art she learned at the akademiya. no need for a vision, she insisted—all they need is patience. she expected him to reject the idea, but to her surprise and delight, he gave her permission to do so as long as she doesn't forget that they will be making public appearances in noble society soon enough. as such, they do need to have some restraint. she gladly agrees to his terms.
signora quickly discovers that they are a very fast learner. they take her lessons very well. what a smart little one they are! she thinks it's very funny when they accidentally light the balladeer's coat on fire. he was not happy. the fair lady, however, found it absolutely fucking hysterical. she praised them in secret for it!
"you are very, very important," she had said, "there are very few people on teyvat that could hurt you and get away with it. the balladeer is not one of those people, so by all means, light him on fire again, my little flame <3"
she is creating a firey (literally and metaphorically...) little noble. pantalone doesn't really mind.
they are very important, indeed, and if la signora is encouraging that ideology, then he doesn't care whose coats he will need to replace.
please consider reblogging, it helps me out quite a lot!
