Emmett’s Tattoo: Snake and Flowers pt. 2 
Now, here’s a list of flowers and some herbs I’m considering! These have less to do with Emmett’s personality and more to do with things like his backstory, motivations, fears, wants, and such! I will probably end up choosing at most three for the final piece but for now, here’s an extensive list of possibilities. Under a read more because this got even longer than the snake post.

Connected with mourning, the dead, and the underworld (fields of asphodel in Greek mythology)
Supposedly used as a remedy against snakebites and sorcery
Tolerant of drought

Believed to have a spirit know as the Elder Mother, which would enact revenge over anyone who cut down an elder tree, could be kept at bay by chanting a rhyme

Hardy enough to withstand cool climates and drought for long periods of time
Seeds are difficult to start as the plant has a low germination rate and slow growth, but cal easily live up to 30 years
Has a tendency to flower outside of its flowering season
