I was reading it like pretty late at night + just got out of school so I’m trying to recall everythign that even happened,, but I know 4 sure I rlly enjoyed it!!!!!:33:3:3:33!!! AUGHH ranking all the characters in a top 10 is gonna b so hard,,,,, I can rank all the Gordons tho I think!! (I’m not ranking them from “best” to “worst” rlly, more like,, how attached I am to th character, how much I know abt them,, stuff liekthat) huge apologies if I misremember sruff or use the wrong names or pronouns or anything like rhat, everything is kinda foggy for me rn 😭💔

loverboy/Gordon b./leading light/whateva u wanna call him:3,,, idk if u could tell by the recent sketches I’ve been doing but I’m def a fan,,, all of his designs r incredible and the character overall has been super interesting 2 see develop, esp in Ep2.,,, like. Out of all the Gordons, I rlly did NOT expect LB to be the most genuinely villainous,,,,,!! + the thing that was said abt how he took advantage of Benrey similarly to how he tried to and like,.. completely flipped everything from Y2KVR around tonally was super neat,,, he is #1 lovecore in myheart 💔

Probably Doc!! I feel p similar abt LB to Doc,,, I ended up being rlly invested in his backstory and how his character was developing, and his dynamic w/ sleepless n the others was so fun,,,, :33 also love all his designs sm ,,, including the other characters in his AU, they were great :]] will b drawinf him next !!i prommy!!

Hjonesslty,,, prob Malcom & Player,,,,being from something I had never read I was worried I’d like,, not “get” the character,,, but I found them both super interesting!! The overall concept of the AU was so silly but also rlly compelling,,,and the ultimate outcome of their arcs iguess was cool2 me :] Kittle’s redemption and Player’s complete shift in Ep2 were both great :]

Freeman,,,! I initially figured his character wouldn’t change very much and would mostly just serve as liek,,, a foil to all the absurd characters rhat surrounded him, but I was pleasantly surprised and Very excited to see that he had a lot more to him!!!! :D and was rlly prominent in the story !!!!! Esp him in Ep2!!!!!!!!!!! iwanna write more sobad but I keep getting distracted sndliie I may need to skim thru everything again as a refresher,, ihave So many thoughts ,,,,cant form them 💔

Swap is all that’s left!!! It wss so hard for me to put them at 5 becos I rlly like them but I had nochoic e ,,, swap AUs r always so iconic burlike,,, unlike most others from other fandoms, this roleswap AU introduced lots of unique elements to the stories and characters that it became way more than just “what if this character had the opposite outfit and personality!” Which I REALLY appreciate and enjoyed a lot in the story,, esp when it came to Swap themself!!!! Like!!! Aaagh!!! Them being an alien from Xen!!!! Is so cool{!!! I’ll def have to read the original fic eventually becos it seems rlly good,,, anyways!! I loved their relationship w/ Neo (and Neo in general!! All the “normal human/player” characters were so silly ilovethrm) aaaaaa

Extra note: I loved Mothra a lot :3 them just dipping at the end was super silly and is also very much hinting at a return so I am excited for that !!!!!!!!

okay i feel like when daichi finds out his eyes would go really big

it’s a millisecond of processing and then he wraps his big arms around you and spins the two of you around. he’s laughing and it’s BOOMING through the room (already has that dad laugh down omg)

“we’re going to have a baby!” it was supposed to be a question but he’s just beaming and it came across as a statement, an exclamation, a d e c l a r a t i o n

when he finally sets you down he has a hold of your hips and looks down at your tummy, in awe that his and your baby is really in there

his eyes meet yours and the man is just so in love with you. proceeds to give you the sweetest and softest kisses, first a kiss on the inside of your wrist (idk why i’m obsessed with these kisses with daichi i- ) and then slow passionate kisses on the lips. just overcome with love and you can feel it through his kisses.

“our family’s growing my love” you tell him, minding the fur baby (or two) that you two have

“our family’s growing,” he repeats. “thank you.” YES. HE THANKS YOU AUGHH. like for what daichi we’re the ones who would be thanking you.

you definitely ask daichi if you can talk to his mom about her experience bc the woman did pop out a handful of kids.

and ofc daichi says yes. he also goes with you bc he wants to be as informed as possible and also be there with you and be supportive as much as he can.

yeah his whole face is red the whole time HAHA. bc it’s one thing to read a bunch of baby books and listen to podcasts (yeah the boy found podcasts mhm) and watch those cringey old pregnancy cd’s that are now decades old but it is a completely different thing to hear five different birth stories from your mother in excruciating detail (you actually asked mama sawamura to make it extra cringey beforehand just to see daichi squirm-OUT OF LOVE OFC)

he is surprisingly not that nervous. but he loves to have cute talks with you about things that are years down the line.

says he would probably be the disciplinarian and the kid’s going to cling to you more (like he’s super self-aware of his captain voice that would evolve into his scolding/lecturing dad voice)

talks about school pick up’s and drop off’s ALREADY

the few times you’ve seen him emotional and teary-eyed about the baby was a bunch of the ‘first’s’. first time he heard the heartbeat. first time he felt the baby kick. first time he held up the little onesies you prepared to bring to the hospital.

gives you massages and also if you have a pregnancy food aversion or sensitive smell phase he insists he’s the one to cook while you relax in the other room and wait for him to call you when it’s ready

also goes on walks with you around the neighborhood when he gets off of work and it becomes a little routine you both look forward to (so does your puppy heheh)

okay and this last one might be very specific but i saw a youtuber i watch talk about this and i thought it fit with daichi. he asks you (in like a soft doting way) to hold onto the stair’s railing while you walk up and down it. and it totally becomes a thing where he’ll call for you to come up or down and you tell him a jab like “one second love, cautious can only go so fast” (lil scenario under the cut but i hope you liked the hcs!!)

“Sweetheart, you know I trust you completely and I know how strong and independent you are but if I am ever going to ask you for one thing during this pregnancy, it’s this, please?”

You looked at your sweet husband’s face full of worry and were drawn by his big brown eyes that were basically pleading you

A laugh escaped you at how easy it was for him to convince you of this but you exaggerate a sigh, “Fine. If this is what makes you feel more at ease than I’ll do it.”

You grabbed onto the handrail of the staircase and gave Daichi a dramatic look of ‘Happy?’

When the two of you got down to the bottom you turned to face him. “Love, it makes complete sense if you asked me when I’m eight or nine months pregnant but I’m hardly five months right now. I just started showing.”

“I know, I know but think of it like you're building this habit for down the line. I just think it would give me a sense of relief, like what if I was at work and you needed to come down the stairs? I’d just feel better knowing you’re holding on.”

You wrapped your arms around his neck and chuckled at him, “Yeah, apparently holding on to the last remains of your sanity.”

He gave you a stern look and you wanted to snort. “Y/N, this is about your health and not just yours but-”

You nodded your head, “The baby’s, I know, I know. You can put the scolding voice away, I’m just kidding around.” You brought his face close to yours and grinned when you saw a small blush spread across his face from the proximity. “If your papa and hubby instincts are telling you to ask me if I can hold the handrail then I will hold the handrail, okay?”

“Okay,” he whispered back, relaxing more into your hold and you catch his eyes flickering to your lips.

The smile on your face grows, “The baby and I are so lucky to have you, Daichi.” You plant your lips on his and when you pull away you tell him what you knew with your whole heart, “You’re going to be the best dad ever.”

so this is kinda lame bc i just finished up my 100 celebration (and hit two other milestones), i just said in a recent ask game that my mental health was making progress, and i JUST got a kuroo anon in my inbox (I KNOW AUGHH😩😩💓💓) but i'm going on a week long hiatus to focus on my wonky brain things and on school. been very scatterbrained and projecting it through all my social media to the point where i need a detox.
