Last Line Written
Tagged by @fourraccoonsinacoat who makes sure I don't fall off the writing activities. Thank you !!
Now, the plan was to write linearly from the prequel and slowly get into stuff, but you know, warp does not the warped warp, so there are now multiple foci with some additional metadata in them. Schemes upon schemes!
This one is from the part where the many-suffering Heinrix is going to wish he had never learned the word "Inqusition". That's at first, but then he'll be discovering Da Politics and the art of doublethink. Mostly will be happening between Emelina and Eufrates with Incendia Chorda in the middle.
I'll let you guess whose drug-induced visions these are:
*********************************************************************
The secret garden clings to a high cliff, winding around an ancient stone well. A thousand meters below at the well's bottom, the waves crash against the basalt floor of a primordial cavern. Salty air carries the sharp tang of brine, mingling with sublime notes of wild rose and linden blossoms. The intoxicating blend sends ants marching down my spine; lightheaded, I raise my hands toward the silver clouds above.
A child sleeps on the marble bench, clad in red silks - a blank slate, a life yet unlived, carefree and serene. Pale midday light filters through the canopy of linden wines, setting child’s birth lunula aglow with molten copper. I kneel beside her, pressing gentle kisses to her forehead and hands, my fingers threading through her wild, untamed curls. Savor your freedom, for it is fleeting.
Seraph's approach is silent, felt more than heard—a gentle susurration of wind, faint rustle of the leaves, soft touch of feathered hand on a bare skin. He towers above me; if I squint, I can just make out the pale, winged outline within the brilliant haze that envelops him, a fiery glint of the sword at his side.
Avert your eyes, for no one can see me and live, - a whisper carries on the breeze, and I turn away.
When I look again, it is at his algebraic form - a young man dressed in deepest purple tunic of the consecrated, his hair never cut and falling to waist in dark waves. He picks up the sleeping child and carries her to the brink of the well. The cracks between polished megaliths come alight where his steps fall. Red silks fly in the wind, as he holds the girl over the raging abyss.
"Become," he commands, releasing her into the void.

Clever and Beloved
Day 6 for @bucktommyfluffebruary: stargazing. read on ao3 read other days here
Roughly halfway between Las Vegas and Los Angeles, along historic Route 66, is a dormant volcano.
It's called the Amboy Crater. At 250 feet tall, the basaltic cone stands like a sentinel, high above the surrounding lava field. The Crater is a national landmark, protected by the State of California. There’s a paved road, a parking lot, even bathrooms. The trail to hike up and into the crater is rated moderately difficult, and takes the average visitor one and a half hours. If it was daylight, Buck could stand on the rim and see for miles and miles.
It’s also an unofficial Dark Sky site.
Buck knows all this, because when Tommy told him the Perseids meteor shower was peaking this week, he immediately started researching. A few Wikipedia deep-dives later, he knows what the Perseids are (debris left behind by Comet Swift-Tuttle), who Swift and Tuttle were (two separate astronomers who discovered the comet three days apart in 1862), why the Perseids are called that (they appear to originate out of the Perseus constellation), and who Perseus was. Of course, that sent him into Greek mythology.
He rambled the whole drive. About King Cepheus and Queen Cassiopeia, who boasted that Princess Andromeda was more beautiful than Poseidon’s daughters. About the sea serpent Cetus, sent by an enraged Poseidon to destroy their kingdom. About the beautiful princess, sacrificed on the altar of her parent’s pride. And Perseus the demigod. Clever and beloved by the gods, blessed with Hermes’ sandals, and Athena’s shield. He killed Medusa, and used her head to save Andromeda. In doing so, he won her heart. Or at least, her hand in marriage.
Tommy had listened to every word and smiled that scrunchy smile. He laughed at Buck’s commentary, and told him they had several movies of questionable quality to watch. He was looking forward to Buck pointing out all the inaccuracies.
So, here they are. Stretched out in the bed of Tommy’s truck, pressed together from shoulder to ankle. Tommy has one arm tucked behind his head, staring up at the Milky Way wheeling overhead. His other hand is tangled up with Buck’s, calloused thumb stroking over his knuckles.
A meteor streaks across the sky. For less than a second, there’s a line of blue-green fire, magnesium and ice igniting in a flash. Buck blinks the after-effects away.
It’s August, but it’s late, nearing midnight. Neither of them have shifts tomorrow, and they’re both used to strange hours, so driving out to the middle of the Mojave after a late dinner on a random Tuesday isn’t as irresponsible as it sounds. Buck snuggles down into the sleeping bag beneath them and pulls the fleece blanket higher up his chest.
8 years in California and he still forgets how cold the desert can get at night.
Of course, Tommy notices his fussing. He tilts his head to catch Buck’s eye. “Alright?”
Another meteor burns overheard; friction overcoming the chill of deep space. This one flares out, a white fireball at the end of its trajectory. Catchlights scatter like sparks as the bright flame reflects in Tommy’s eyes.
“Should’ve brought another blanket.”
“I can help with that. C’mere.” He sits up, urging Buck onto his knees so he can bunch the sleeping bag up against the truck's rear window. There’s some awkward shuffling, lit only by the light of the stars and the occasional meteoric flash.
His boyfriend ends up slouched against the truck, half upright, spreading denim-clad legs and guiding Buck to recline between them. Tommy straightens out the blanket with a snap of his wrists, letting it drift down over them gently. He tucks the top corners in around Buck’s shoulders and worms his own arms underneath the fleece to wrap around Buck’s torso. Warm fingers brush down Buck’s sleeves, finding his hands and directing their shared grasp into the front pocket of his hoodie.
It’s cozy. Intimate and practical, the exact mix he’s come to expect from Tommy. He’s instantly warmer, heated through by the feel of Tommy’s chest against his shoulders, his hips bracketed by muscular thighs. Big hands curl over his inside his sweater. Their fingers slot together, rough knuckles and scarred hands, warming the little pocket of air and resting on Buck's stomach. He feels surrounded and protected. Cherished, in a way that no other partner has ever made him feel. Buck lets himself relax, going boneless in Tommy’s lap. His arms tighten, almost a hug, reaching that perfect, grounding pressure that sends serotonin surging in his brain.
Buck could stay here forever. Until the meteor shower is over, until the sun comes up, until the heat of the desert melts them into the sand below.
Tommy shifts behind him, pressing the chilled tip of his nose to the back of Buck’s neck. “That better?”
The next meteor bursts into light, shooting towards the Earth. A short tail, in bright, vibrant yellow-orange. Iron and sodium. Perseus stands on the horizon, reaching up towards his queen, Andromeda.
“That’s perfect.”

/* From Aurelius (@order-of-the-pharos-universe), for whoever you want */
They'd known about the island of Tripol for quite a while, of course. Given that Tycho and his ilk had been around for over four hundred years, and Aristotle had been around for over two thousand, it was hard not to.
At least, they'd seen the name on the map, a handful of times while looking for other tiny Pacific Islands. Up to this point in time, they've had no interest in the island and written it off as insignificant. Though, perhaps they should have known better. The tendency for most larger governmental organizations to overlook tiny islands populations just as big was their own motive for taking up residence on Leonide Island off the coast of Alaska in the Chukchi sea.
The short report that maybe they should take interest in the activities on Tripol came from a member of the order Aurelius only knew by the alias, Basalt, who belonged to one of a network of small sets that were scattered across the south Pacific, and monitored the region for supervillains. Were they heroes? villains? A potential ally or enemy? Were they connected too Bleddyn's people?
As Basalt and the other members in the order were tied up dealing with Bleddyn Owen's people attempting to take over Fiji, the council agreed to send the Ataxonimos Modulus, which included Aristotle, Ada, Piri, Mary Draha, and Aurelius.
Upon arriving, the group split to conduct their reconnaissance. Aurelius found the nearest park in Bayfloat where he could sit in his wheelchair, listen to the Earthsong, and draw a map of the island. He can hear... everything. The ocean, the land, the flora and fauna, in the Earthsong. He'd been sitting there for about a quarter hour when he noticed... something... in the earthsong approaching him, and looked up at the approaching figure.
Anywhere one looked one would find varying levels of villainy and heroics in Tripol locked in an uneasy balance (or lack of thereof ). It all really depended on which one of the three cities, really. The smallest city - Bayfloat - wedged between the two larger cities were a hotspot for both criminal activity and unusual phenomena of all sorts.
And despite this, the city was often seemed and felt peaceful on a surface level. This particular day would be a shining example of such. Even villains needed a break (or at least time away from the media spotlight). So did the self-established 'group' of heroic androids that called themselves the Mechanical Squadron Fivemind.
And in their free time, the android simply tried to live as humans do. Emphasis on tried.
One did not need to be able to hear the Earthsong, to notice audible footsteps approach in a somewhat lop-sided gait. Despite the clear skies, the machine in humanoid form was clad in an opaque raincoat draped over the right side of their body to conceal a bladed arm from the public eye.
The android simply nodded at Aurelius to acknowledge his presence before settling on the ground next to him. There's a soft whirr from within the machine as it seemingly stared onto space. Whatever it was doing, it was mostly internal.

you know something i just noticed this week? the eastern coast of america is clad in barrier islands - made of sand that errodes and shifts with the ocean and its storms. and then on the west coast, the islands are formed with lava and stone - heavy and permanent, (relatively. yes, cliffs shear, and the sea rises. but) it's clay, basalt vs sands.
in the west - there is a part of the salish sea which behaves so erratically there are barnacles living in the upper stories of the tree canopy from the tides coming in and up into the forest. there are trees growing out of the water. these are the types of waves that smash boats and leave people "missing" in a way you will never undo. there is no shore, no distinct point at which the end of the forest and the beginning of the sea can be observed.
in the east - the islands disappear altogether. the water freezes and crashes in on itself like glass.
seemingly uninhabitable- and yet
(barely resisting to use the word "microclimate" but plz i am thinking it)

Happy WBW! Can you tell me a bit about a location? A building, a city, a forest, a country, an island, whatever you like :)
wow,,, to recieve a wbw ask,,, it has been so many moons. thank you sm! <3
i'm gonna talk about the GINGI'NGA NANMOSO, which is a location in my wip HE WHO SMITES THE SUN (dori-tsokhizhemasonen). this is a wip where i've been doing a lot of world, culture, and language building so this is sort of the perfect excuse to talk about it.
but before i get too into the weeds, have a little summary and wip business card :3
SUMMARY Born during a total eclipse, considered one of the most accursed and unlucky days of the year by the Khayen'ni people of Raya'madi, the eldest "daughter" of the chief of one of the many roaming southern tribes, Kori-Tsokhizhemasonen, is shunned by all, even his own parents, due to this unfortunate birth. And even worse still for Tsokhizhe, is that he tasked with being his younger sister, Pinyiko's, keeper. A fortnight before Pinyiko's long anticpated bethrothal to another powerful clan, she is snatched away by black-clad bandits and whisked off to The Northern Bands, their most longstanding foe for their encouragement of magic-users, known as Sopiros, which to all southern tribes, is an affront to their gods, The Affinities. On his father's orders, Tsokhizhe alone must rescue his sister, or be faced with permanent banishment; and so, he takes up this cross. Along the way, he uncovers the truth about his sister's kidnapping, his father's plans, as well as a long understood secret about himself that he never had the space to unravel: perhaps he truly isn't the eldest "daughter" after all.
N E WAY THO ONTO ME RAMBLING.
the Gingi'nga Nanmoso (i'm too lazy to ipa this sorry but if you want me to write out how its prounounced just bug me at some point lol) translates to The Calling Pillar (lit. call’s pillar) ; it is a sacred space of neutral ground considered blessed by the affinities (which are what the khayen'ni people call their gods). the ground there is made of basalt and the land there is considered sacred as it is apart of their creation myth.
tl;dr the creation myth is that ages ago there was a great volcano that was constantly erupting and creating and destroying new land all the time. nothing could grow because as soon as things sprouted, it would immediately be destoryed by the eruptions/lava. the great named affinities which are light, dark, wind, rain, snow, growth, war, terrain, and animal and their unnamed counterparts, banded together and collapsed the volcano into the earth to stop its unrest and form fertile ground for creation to spring from. however, the site of the now dormant volcano became a valley of basalt. in the center of the basalt ring is a giant black obsidian obelisk that is occasionally struck by lightning, surrounded by somewhat smaller but still grandiose black marble obelisks to guard its borders, and a great black marble arch at the center before the true calling pillar (which is the obsidian one in the center).
whenever it is struck, different patterns appear on it and there are people trained to read those signs from every clan to determine their fate. their people tend to erect their own versions of the gingi'nga nanmoso's obelisk whenever they travel nomadically to commune with the gods and draw lightning to their encampments as lightning is considered a messenger affinity of the Great Named affinities.
at the actual site of the gingi'nga nanmoso tho: to shed blood there is a grave sin, and as such it is used as a neutral place to forge treaties, to arrange weddings between differing tribes, and to have great councils that affect all tribes in the south. it is also at this pillar that the great schism between the northern and southern tribes was forged and the northern tribes are Technically not allowed to stand on the ground of the gingi'nga nanmoso as part of the treaty from a hundred or so odd years ago. but uhhh that's part of plot too :eyes:
but i hope this explanation was fun! i love worldbuilding for this world i need to actually write more for it eosjcn

Every Dredge Aberration (2024), Part 3

Tusked Grouper
Encyclopedia #116
Aberrant form of black grouper
Description:
Pig-like tusks protrude from the mouth of this ravenous brute. With no eyes to speak of, it attacks indiscriminately.

Comment: Is it my leaping to association, or does there seem to be a peculiarly common theme of the Marrows aberrations and the loss (or hypertrophy) of their eyes?
How to catch: Being night-swimmers, there lies a small, but manageable risk in fishing for grouper in The Marrows. They dwell in the shallows, and will take to rod and net alike.
Voltaic Grouper
Encyclopedia #117
Aberrant form of black grouper
Description:
An unknown green energy arcs and crackles over this fish's scales. It thrashes ceaselessly, even hours after being pulled from the water.

Comment: Now THIS is an interesting fish, both in look and in the possibilities. To butcher this one feels like a waste. I would adore to explore captive sea lanterns and dark apparatus powered by these energies.
How to catch: ^^^
Shard Ray
Encyclopedia #118
Aberrant form of stingray
Description:
The stone skin of this ray is moulded around a black crystal shard. The rock fragments articulate and grind together.

Comment: Notably the first, although far from the last case where we will witness the transmutation from biology to something that should, by all logic, be inorganic and still. Keep this specimen in the when we move onto the Gale Cliffs section of the encyclopedia. If there was any fortune for the ray in this turn of events, it would be in the fact that its kind were already bottom-dwellers. Most curious here is the semblance between those black crystals and the igneous basalt pillars that are so ever-present across the sea.
How to catch: Marrow stingrays are available to cast for at any time of day or night. True to nature, they prefer the shallow ends. Be on the lookout for this oddity in the early game, as they can fetch a decent sum going towards ship upgrades.
Sallow Sailfish
Encyclopedia #119
Aberrant form of sailfish
Description:
A sickly, pallid color coats the scales of this normally sleek and shiny fish. Clouded eyes belie the disease spreading underneath.

Comment: "Sallow" describes the yellowed complexion of a very unwell person, most literally in one showing the telltale signs of jaundice. My nostrils themselves cringe to brainstorm of the malodor that accompanies this snag.
How to catch: Like all sailfish, they feed diurnally in the deeper, oceanic biome around The Marrows. A suitable rod or trawl net will be needed to start pursuing this awful sight.
Hooked Sailfish
Encyclopedia #120
Aberrant form of sailfish
Description:
Spindles of bone protrude from discolored muscle. A hooked bill curves inward - a lure for something greater.

Comment: With a description like that, it makes the fact that this fish cannot actually be used as some manner of bait or ultimate hook to use against a true monster sound like a missed opportunity. Half of me wants to mock it for its ridiculous little shrunken expression, but my other half can't help but compliment the concept and chosen colors of its body.
How to catch: ^^^
Bloodskin Shark
Encyclopedia #121
Aberrant form of Bronze Whaler
Description:
Tendons and sinews stretch over the fins of this bloodied predator. Powerful jaws are clad in exposed muscle.

Comment: Reminder that another term for this individual when it was healthy was the copper shark. Poetically, I can vividly imagine the taste and smell of copper reeking from this savage demon. With no regret I can say I actually prefer this specimen over the more popular reef shark variant. A sucker for crimson and reds, I'll stay predictable to the end.
How to catch: Only bother once you have access to equipment that can handle casting after oceanic dwellers. Searching outward from the Marrows coastlines should find a harvesting spot of shark in no time. These may be hauled or trawled under the daytime sun.
Cleft Mouth Shark
Encyclopedia #122
Aberrant form of Blacktip reef shark
Description:
A large body bisected by an enormous, grinning maw. Teeth stretch down forever into the blackness of its large gullet.

Comment: The last, and maybe most remembered of The Marrow's warped fish.
Seriously, I stumbled into a bounty of fanart specifically about this jacked up, faceless shark. I belove it the same. Already we have seen two frequented themes in the aberrant line- beings transformed wholly for the purpose of creating and carrying eldritch life, and as so iconized by the above fella, those who instead now only live to consume other life. Early sailors keep their fingers crossed for one of these valuable brutes.
How to catch: Early investment into researching heavier fishing equipment and careful timing will be the friend of those hunting after this abomination. Not for the faint among those just starting out, as black tip reef sharks only appear at night in oceanic water. This means being farther away from the starting port and fishing in the thick of the fog. Keep wary that you don't pull up your catch only to lose it overboard in a collision with a tricky rock, or an assault from the night angler. Can be trawl netted.

The throne room of Hell was a twisted mockery of that of a castle. Basalt floors marred with the claws of ever-pacing hellhounds.
The walls too were black, but if one would dare to place a hand upon it, one would feel the beating of what felt like a slow, weak heart. The living walls seemed to have no end as they drowned in the inky blackness above.
At the far end of the room, up a small steeple, was a twisted throne. Iron, Obsidian and human bone had all been used to build its grotesque form.
The air was thick with the screams of the damned, and heavy with spiced incense to mask the demonic scent of sulphur.
Seated upon the twisted throne, clad in a black suit, was Crowley. Though not imposng in stature, his confidence and clear power easily kept his legions, if not loyal, then at least subdued beneath his iron boot.
The king beckoned forth one of his cowering subjects, who bowed, not meeting Crowley's eyes.
"Bring me Dean Winchester." Crowley ordered. The cowering demon bowed and did as ordered, disappearing out through the main doors to summon the man.
Not a minute later. Did Dean materialize before Crowley.
The man was more demon than human at this point, and he smiled as Dean's eyes flicked to black.
"What did you summon me for, my king." He said with an eye roll and a smirk.
Crowley beckoned Dean closer, demons in the court visibly slinking away from him with fear as Dean approached the throne.
"Dean, my dear. I do believe it is time for a little demonstration of where your loyalty lay." Crowley purred as he stood up from his throne. With a steel constitution, he descended the steps, the air shivering with royal authority. Like a anther stalking his pey, he circled Dean. To the pandemonium watching, he was a predator sizing up his prey. On earth, Dean and the rest of the hunters oft mistook their chances up against the demon, but here, in the deep, sulphuric pits of Hell, this ludicrous belief was immediately crushed.
"It is high time that the denizens of Hell witness the loyaly of the most feared Winchester firsthand. A public pledge, if you will."
Dean's jaw tightened, but reluctantly, he nodded.
The phrasing of the king did not do much to dampen the hatered which burned alongside his attraction to Crowley.
"Sure. Why the fuck not. Public displays are my favourite." The man said with a sarcastic sneer.
Crowley lead his knight to the foot of his throne, where all eyes were upon him.
It was his symbolic stage for the impending pledge.
Demons seemed to flock into the room, curious to see if the rumors were true, and to witness the spectacle.
Crowley raised a hand, and the legion within the throneroom quieted down.
"Behold, forces of Hell." He announced, not raising his voice, yet his words reached all ears. "Dean Winchester, the righteous man, the sword of Michael. Former bearer of the mark of Cain. Feared hunter and master of torture, has become a loyal subject to me, your king. Today he will officially pledge his loyalty to me, to the throne, to Hell."
Dean gritted his teeth but took a knee, keeping his gaze down, to ignore the droves of demons within the room, watching him in his humiliation.
He took a deep breath before he raised his voice and spoke with determination.
"I, Dean Winchester, pledge my flesh, my loyalty, my soul to king Crowley, ruler of Hell, as his first knight."
The hall erupted in guttoral cheers, which bounded their way up the everlasting darkness above them.
Crowley revelled in the display and smirked triumphantly.
Crowley leaned closer to Dean and whispered in his ear.
"Well done, my dearest Knight. Your commitment won't go unnoticed." He teased whilst the demonic crowd started to disperse.
The pawn-become queen in Crowley's grand game with fate.
The public pledge echoed distantly up the eldritch walls of the throne room, as Dean and Crowley remained alone.
Crowley relished in his newfound, magnified control over Dean, and made a split-second decition to further exploit the younger man's already voulnerable emotional state.
With a snap of Crowley's fingers, the two of them teleported to a dark, desolate corner of Hell.
Dean looked around. They were in a large, dark, empty room. Well, nearly empty. In the middle of the room was a cage of grotesquely misshapen metal bars. Twisting and tangling with one another, in a hellishly metallic mockery of a thorn bush.
Dean stepped closer as his eyes adjusted to the darkness, and he noticed the form of a person within the cage. Said form moved closer to the front of the cage, and the slightly reflective, cold light emitting from the bars themselves illuminated the figure's face. It was John Winchester.
Crowley couldn't help the Cheshire smirk which spread on his face as he walked up next to Dean.
"Lookie who's here, Squirrel. We got ourselves a little family reunion in the fiery depths."
Dean's eyes narrowed as he gazed upon his father, resentment etched in the younger Winchester's face.
Crowley couldn't, nor wouldn't hide how his sinister grin grew, as he revelled in the palpable tension.
"What's your game, Crowley?" Dean sneered bitterly. "You know I harbour nothing but resentment for that man."
Crowley leaned in closer, his tone dripping with feline mischief as he spoke.
"Oh, I am well aware of that, Squirrel. But I figured that you'd might want some closure with the old man."
With reluctance in his every step, Dean approached the cage. John looked up, surprise and despair in his eyes.
The air was thick with the festering wounds of unspoken history between father and son.
John's broken eyes looked from the king of Hell, to his son as he finally spoke, pleading to his eldest child.
"Son! Hngh, Dean... I-"
Dean sneeded and simply cut him off.
"Save it, dad. I ain't got any interest in your so-called apologies."
After John's death, and the revelations about his father, which had unravelled in the many years since, the resentment which had resulted, had festered and coated the old rose-tinted glasses he had once seen his father through, and shattered them.
Crowley watched on with a sadistic satisfaction as the Winchesters, bound by blood and history could finally talk, unhindered, and fully honest, there, in the depths of Hell. Their fractured bond on full display.
As Dean stood before John's cage, the faint gleam of the hell-steel casting a cold glow across his features, Dean deliberately allowed his eyes to shift. From pear green, to demonic black. The inky blackness of his corrupted soul reflected in those pits of obsidian.
John reeled back in his cage.
"What the Hell, Dean? What happened? What have you beome?"
Dean smirked as he looked down upon the man. With a chilling edge to his voice, he spoke up.
"What I've become, dad, is exactly what I was always ment to be. You thought Sammy would be the one submitting to the sway of demonic influence. He was indeed tricked by demons, but me?" He let out a cold laugh as he sat down on his heels with a smirk. "I tortured in hell for a decade. I lived a summer as the knight to the king. And you know what? I enjoyed it. Which is why I decided to give in. Submitting to my nature."
John's expression was a mix of horror, disgust, and disbelief.
"You're choosing this life? Serving demons!?" The man spat angrily, looking at his son with disgust growing in his eyes.
"I am serving myself. After a lifetime of giving everything to saving others, to give my life to strangers. After the crap life I was set up with thanks to you, I decided enough was enough. I have survived for long enough. Now I want to live. And it just so happens that Crowley is my key to finally live for myself. I decided to pledge my loyalty to him and his kingdom, so to ensure my place as a knight within it." John protested to Dean's explanation, as the air seemed to grow thicker with sulphur, as if John's hope and resolution had been keeping it at bay before.
The low light and the shadows it cast, made Dean's face seem colder and more demonic as John desperately tried to reach Dean's humanity.
"You can't let them turn you into this, Dean! You're a hunter. A Winchester. You are my son!"
Dean, unmoved by the plea, stepped closer once more to the cage, and with a firm sneer, he cut John off.
"I am not just 'your son' anymore, John. I am a demon. And I made my choice. Willingly."
Crowley smiled proudly, and put one of his hands on Dean's hip, smiling up at him.
John once more protested, as he saw how the king of Hell touched Dean.
Dean glanced to his father, and, as if he realized something, or one last blockade was removed, he turned to look at the shorter demon, who looked back at him, an eyebrow raised in a challenging way. Dean gave him a crooked smile, cupping one of Crowley's cheeks, before leaning in, lips meeting in a true kiss of passion. The world seemed to fade around them for Dean, as he allowed himself to accept this. Accept himself. He could almost taste the red, smokey demon within the vessel in the kiss, and he felt his heart skip a beat.
"DEAN! What the Hell are you doing?" John shouted, breaking into the dome of passion which had surrounded the two kissing men.
With reluctancy in his every move, Dean broke away, his eyes deep inky pits of darkness. He smirked at his protesting father as he leaned against Crowley, to piss him off even more.
"Just embracing the perks of my position of Knight, dad." He said, wrapping his arms around Crowley's neck.
John's face turned furious as he watched his son debase himself in that manner.
"This isn't you, Dean!" He spat. "You don't bend over for demons. You can't!"
Dean ignored his father, and turned his attention back to Crowley, who was looking back at him with those stunning red eyes that ignighted such basal feelings within Dean. He revelled in the chaos caused by the two of them.
Crowley chuckled and kissed Dean lightly before he spoke again, a light chuckle in his voice.
"It seems like your old man doesn't quite appreciate our blossoming romance. I do wonder why that may be?"
"This isn't real..." John whined desperately, before his voice hardened. Fuelled by scorching hot fury. "You can't whore yourself out to a filthy demon like that!"
Dean's own anger, spurred on by his defiance towards his father, and amplified by his stygian essence, stepped closer to John's cage, his intense expression unyielding. With a sarcastic tone, he spoke, clearly forcing himself not to physically strike his caged father.
"Well, welcome to the new reality, dad. Your son's found love in all the wrong places.
John protested wildly, unable to comprehend the depths to which dean had fallen, as the two demons' corporal forms entangled in yet another passionate kiss.

Why Cobblestone Pavers are Perfect for Driveways and Pathways

Summary
Cobblestone pavers have been a preferred choice for centuries due to their durability, classic appeal, and versatility in outdoor spaces. Whether for driveways or pathways, they offer a perfect blend of strength and aesthetics. Compared to other paving materials, cobblestones last longer, require minimal maintenance, and add a rustic charm to any property. This blog explores the benefits of cobblestone pavers, their installation process, and how JK Stones provides high-quality natural cobblestone in Goa, granite cobblestone in Indore, natural stone cladding in Haridwar, stone wall cladding in Noida, and pebble mosaic options for elegant landscaping solutions.
The Timeless Appeal of Cobblestone Pavers
Cobblestone pavers are one of the most sought-after materials for driveways and pathways due to their timeless elegance and resilience. Originating from ancient European streets, they have stood the test of time, proving their ability to withstand heavy loads and harsh weather conditions.
AtJK Stones, we offer premium-quality natural cobblestone in Goa, granite cobblestone in Indore, and natural stone cladding in Haridwar, ensuring a perfect solution for homeowners and commercial spaces looking for long-lasting paving materials.
Benefits of Cobblestone Pavers
1. Unmatched Durability
Cobblestone pavers are made from natural stones like granite, basalt, and limestone, which are incredibly strong and can last for generations. Unlike concrete or asphalt, cobblestone driveways and pathways do not crack easily, making them ideal for regions with fluctuating weather conditions.
2. Aesthetic Versatility
Whether you prefer a rustic look or a refined contemporary finish, cobblestones can enhance any outdoor space. Available in various shapes, colors, and finishes, granite cobblestone in Indore offers a premium look for high-end residential and commercial spaces.
3. Low Maintenance
Unlike asphalt or concrete, which require frequent repairs and sealing, cobblestone pavers are low-maintenance. They do not fade, crack, or develop potholes over time. In case of any damage, individual stones can be replaced without disturbing the entire surface.
4. Excellent Drainage System
One of the most significant advantages of cobblestone pavers is their permeability. The small gaps between the stones allow water to drain efficiently, reducing the chances of water pooling and erosion. This makes them perfect for regions experiencing heavy rainfall, such as Goa and Haridwar.
5. Eco-Friendly Choice
As a sustainable paving solution, cobblestone pavers are sourced from natural stone, making them an eco-friendly alternative to synthetic materials. Their longevity reduces the need for frequent replacements, minimizing environmental impact.
Installation Process of Cobblestone Pavers
Installing cobblestone pavers requires precision and expertise. Here’s a step-by-step guide to how professionals, such as those at JK Stones, ensure a flawless installation:
Step 1: Site Preparation
The area is excavated to a suitable depth, typically 6–8 inches.
A layer of crushed stone or gravel is laid as the base for stability and drainage.
Step 2: Laying the Foundation
A layer of sand or mortar is spread evenly to create a smooth surface.
This base ensures that the pavers are level and properly aligned.
Step 3: Arranging the Cobblestones
Cobblestones are placed in the desired pattern, such as fan, herringbone, or running bond.
Using natural cobblestone in Goa or granite cobblestone in Indore, installers ensure a tight and seamless fit.
Step 4: Filling the Joints
Gaps between stones are filled with sand or mortar to lock them in place.
This step enhances the overall strength of the pavement.
Step 5: Compacting and Finishing
A mechanical compactor is used to settle the stones into the base.
A final layer of sealing (if required) is applied to protect the surface from stains and moisture.
Enhancing Outdoor Spaces with Stone Cladding and Pebble Mosaic
While cobblestone pavers make for durable and elegant pathways, combining them with natural stone cladding in Haridwar or stone wall cladding in Noida can create a stunning outdoor aesthetic. Stone cladding adds texture and character to walls, fences, and pillars, complementing the charm of cobblestone paving.
Additionally, pebble mosaic patterns can be incorporated into driveways, garden paths, or patios for a decorative touch. These small, smooth stones arranged in artistic patterns enhance the natural beauty of any landscape.
