can i just say i think it's kind of crazy that 'you should care about the characters in the media you like' has become, like, a polarized statement.
#i prefer to be more analytical with the characters i enjoy and that's my personal preference i don't think eveyone should be.#i think they should engage in media in ways that make them happy.#bbut it is kind of fucking insane to read stuff like 'you can mischaracterize your fav characters' like.. ssure i guess?#you definitely can? you're allowed? i'm not going to stop you? but that's not the character..?#Like you're just making an oc...?!!#.txt#i don't knowww i don't know maybe i just struggle with it because it's not the way i like to engage with media but i don't get ittt.#if you want your favorite media to be anything but what it is then why is it your favorite media. i guess is my main question.
