Hey, i see your point in the don’t unstan the group thing, but talking from my own experience I really tried to do that and it wasn’t enough. There’s a point where you just really can’t separate the fandom from the group, example, I still listen to bts and I have nothing against them but it’s not the same knowing their fans are this cruel and toxic towards others, I see bts and the first thing that comes to my mind are armys which is a very unpleasant feeling and for that I really pity bts

yeah i really just don't understand this mindset. im not trying to tell people what to do or anything but if toxicity in a fandom causes you to not even be able to enjoy a group anymore, you're way too deep in the fandom. ive been an army for almost 6 years now and there have definitely been times where being in the fandom was really toxic for me, but that's when i stepped away and detached from all of the drama and just focused on bts. idk like i just don't understand why people let fandoms have such power over the way they experience what they like. it is possible to leave the fandom and still stan the group. and if you don't want to leave stan twitter/stan tumblr entirely you can just manage who you follow. thats what i do and i don't have to deal with nearly as much of the fandom drama and stuff that i used to. i literally just reblog cute gifs of bts and call it a day lol. but i mean, you do you. it just upsets me to see so many groups pay the price for their fandom's bs when it doesn't have to be like that. on top of that, no one single fandom is toxic. the kpop fandom as a whole is one of the most toxic fandoms out there. even the nice fandoms can be really toxic, especially on twitter. i tried to have an astro stan acc on twitter for a little while and even the aroha fandom on there was pretty nasty. there is no fandom that doesn't have problems so if the fandom being shitty makes you not want to stan the group anymore then boy do i have news for you

#i also just feel like there are other reasons that come in to play when someone unstans a group because of fandom toxicity #like maybe the spark died or something #i just genuinely cant wrap my mind around really loving a group and then unstanning them bc of petty fandom drama #i would rather delete all my social media and flush my phone down the toilet than unstan any of my favs #bc they're important to me and im not gonna let petty drama ruin them for me #anyway i wasn't rly trying to start a conversation abt this when i posted that #do whatever u want i just simply do not vibe with this mindset #💌mail #anonymous #also i wanna add that the fandom experience is whatever u make of it #it is possible to meet nice armies and its possible to meet bad ones #u just have to be picky about who ur following #if u follow nasty people ur gonna have a nasty experience with the fandom #but generalizing entire fandoms as bad or good is just. not very cool #sorry this was such a long reply lol i have a lot of thoughts on this topic
