hello sorry if this is annoying but do you have any fic recs for clex that are characterised like lannings identical series? ive just caught up and im sad that there isnt any more to read lol. love your blog <3

oh man, that is a tough question. lanning's lex characterization is top tier and there are not a lot of things like it. the fact that lanning's identical series is incredibly long also gives the fic time to develop the characters and the relationships in a way that isn't super common, given that most clex fic is relatively short.

the main one that comes to mind is the manual transmission series, by bipolypesca, though i'll warn you that one is only available via the wayback machine, which does make it a little bit of a challenge to read. it's very long and has excellent characterization for both clark and lex, and it somehow manages to be a slowburn despite the two technically getting together in the first chapter.

there's also the choix libre series by touchstoneaf, though the prose is a lot more dense than lanning's. i've only gotten through about half of the first installment currently so i can't speak to the longterm characterization, but it's another epic length canon rewrite.

other than those, though, i'm drawing a bit of a blank on things that have similar vibes to lanning's series, though if any of my followers have recs i encourage them to reply/reblog with suggestions.
