anyways:

ok so!! imogen was the only child of two peasants, pretty much? in england. normal people. her dad was probably a laborer of some sort?? they were a very close family and they loved her a ton and imogen was a mischievous and curious lil’ kid and they didn’t have much money but they were happy

then when imogen was 12-14ish there was a wave of disease of some sort that took both of her parents, leaving her an orphan w/ pretty much zero (0) plan. this had a big impact on her because now she doesn’t make super strong attachments because she doesn’t want to deal with loss like that again

so she had to learn on her feet? she didn’t want to stay home though so she travelled to france and lived there up until she joined poseidon’s curse! she’s fluent-ish in the language at this point but doesn’t use it a ton anymore

she pretty much became a wild child y’know she pick-pocketed to get by and hung around and grew a very thick skin and became very defensive and independent like she wanted it to be clear she was Not To Be Messed With and like she had a few friends but mostly kept to herself

she’d heard rumors about pirates and was interested so she started hanging around the docks and then voila she got picked up by poseidon’s curse (the actual specifics can be TBD--i like to think she was trying to steal somebody on the crew’s change and then got let on or smth)

so she’s probably been a part of the crew for a few years now so she’s relatively (?) new and has loved every second of it she loves to traveling and the feeling of purpose that comes with it and the thrill and the night sky and ahhh

she may seem tough but she’s a lowkey dreamer/romantic type deep down

personality wise she’s kind of a smart ass she finds it much easier to make fun of people and be sarcastic than to be nice but she sort of makes up for being being adaptable and smart and a quick learner?

and once you break through the wall of snark she’s actually very affectionate and loyal even though she may not manifest it in the most obvious way!! she considers this to be a weakness though because feelings=getting hurt and she’s not into that

when it comes to the royalty, she’s not a huge fan of the Bourgeoisie as a whole but maybe she’ll come to realize they’re...real people lmao

[the mentor.]: someone who she’s been able to turn to with questions and ask for help when she needs to on the ship. also maybe the person who recruited her in the place. she kind of idolizes them, tbh. (TAKEN: NIK MORGAN)

[the partners in crime.]: imogen likes to looking for trouble sometimes, and this would be a person that she trusts enough to come along with her. someone who’s down for shenanigans and such, and probably the closest thing she has to a best friend. (TAKEN: VALERIA FLORES, MELODIE MORGAN)

[the blast from the past.]: someone that imogen knew in her childhood before her parents died who she has run in to for the first time in years. she’s weary of them, as they serve as an all-too-painful reminder of the life she had before. (OPEN)

[the enemies.]: imogen isn’t a very patient person in general, but this person really gets on her nerves. she has a smart mouth, so it’s also very easy for her to have crossed someone. either way, she holds a grudge and will hold on to it for as long as she can against this person. this would work well for a royal, maybe? ( STILL OPEN) (CORDELIA KENTON, LUCAS KENTON, ESTELLE VALOIS)

[the exception.]: imogen doesn’t hold very much love for the royalty, but this person is just too damn nice for her to be able to hate them as much as the others. they have an uneasy friendship, and imogen may look out for them in moments where things get messy. (TAKEN: OLIVIA KENTON)

[the older sibling type.]: someone who looks out for imogen when she isn’t looking out for herself. she puts herself in plenty of stupid situations, so this would be the person who may begrudgingly help her get out of them. also serves as a confidant, probably. different from the mentor in that it is a more personal relationship, rather than a professional one. (TAKEN: SILAS BOURNE )

[friends with benefits.]: imogen isn’t into the idea of getting into a relationship at all, but she’s still got needs. this is someone that she wasn’t super close with to begin with, and after they started the benefits bit of their friendship she definitely tried to distance herself from in public. in private, though, it’s a different story.
