#mine#“guys' movies do better than womens' movies”#ok discount the fact that this is coming from someone who's working on a studio that was BUILT on a “woman's movie”#and the fact that it spawned one of the most successful franchises in the world (disney princess line)#a lot of the highest grossing films of all time ARE women's movies???#a good chunk of the old hollywood glory days were based on the “woman's picture”#so like where did this ideology even come from?!#snow white started the studio cinderella saved it and ariel brought it back#the “male” lead movies are what lead us to the dark ages LBR#but sadly i feel like hollywood ended up cosigning jeffrey's statement#as he was one of the most important people during the renaissance and he changed the animation industry with shrek#for better or worse#i think most of his influence today is through shrek#bc lbr modern disney movies are just knockoff shrek // dreamworks movies at this point#ahhh dreamworks...the studio who can't seem to give us a single female led franchise#just like pixar
