finally got an answer as to why nobody uses articles half the time in this show and it's because they. they latinized the english
#specifically what i read just now was that it didnt have definite or indefinite articles and 'personal articles were considered inelegant'#which is so funny because to a modern ear it sounds like caveman talk#but to a contemporary ear. presumably saying 'my' all the time would sound...superfluous? overly talky?#so instead everybody's like Turn Thought From Head and im like haha your so silly#spartacus starz#jokes aside though i do think its actually really cool . they didnt HAVE to do that but it gives it that little xtra pinch of flavor
