The next day, you all arrived in the dusty deserted Badlands.

“It's time. The Keyblade Graveyard is up ahead,” Mickey said. You and the others nodded in agreement. 

“Someone's coming,” Sora said. Up ahead, through the hazy air, Master Xehanort walked toward you all, a dark glint in his eye. He bared his teeth.

“Legend has it that darkness--” he started. 

“That the once covered the world. Blah-blah-blah!” Celina said. 

“Celina, so nice to see you alive and well.” 

“Nice to see you too, crusty. You remember (Y/N).” 

“‘Sup, bitch?” you smirked. 

“And your so called ‘prized pupil’, Vanitas.” 

“Hey, fucker,” Vanitas said. 

“As I was saying...We know so little about the Keyblade War--only that it was just the beginning. If ruin brings about creation, what, then, would another Keyblade War bring? When the darkness falls, will we be found worthy of the precious light the legend speaks of?” Xehanort said. Lady Elena appeared to his right. 

“Or will all of creation be instead returned to the shadows? Today, we will recreate the legend and see,” she said. Queen Muki appeared to Xehanort’s left.

“But first... Your light shines far too brightly. It must be extinguished in order for the truth to be seen,” she said. Y!Xehanort appeared in front of them.

“Only when your hopes have been broken by battle upon battle can the key be claimed to Kingdom Hearts. And break you is what we shall do. It has been etched,” he said. Darkness emanated from the five of them and consumed the landscape. Heartless began falling from the heavens in massive numbers, joined by Nobodies and Negaverses.

“Look at how many there are!” Rumi said. You and the others showed faces of concern and Mickey summoned his Keyblade.

“Okay, gang. Get ready!” he said. You all summoned your weapons and dove into the fray until the battle-field was cleared of the numerous enemies and you and your team stood alone.

“Everybody else has gone on ahead,” Yui said. 

“We gotta move!” Roxy said. You all walked through a long crevice, catching up to the others at the edge of a wide, barren field.

“Is everyone okay?” Xemnas asked. Axel gave a thumbs-up.

“C'mon, let's go,” Ansem said. Aqua and Ven nodded before something up ahead caught Ven's attention. As the haze cleared, Ven saw...

“Terra!” he said as he ran up to him. 

“Ven!” Aqua cried. Ven grabbed Terra's wrist.

“Terra! We found you!” he said, joyfully. Aqua caught up and looked into Terra's eyes.

“Terra, please say you're in there,” she said. You walked over to the trio and looked at Terra. 

“Terra, it’s me, (Y/N). Remember? You used to babysit me when I was little,” you said. Terra's eyes moved only slightly and Aqua pulled you and Ven away from him as the others caught up.

“What gives, Aqua?” Ven asked. 

“I know that you're not him,” Aqua said. Your and Ven’s eyes widened. “Now, let our friend go!”

Terra smiled and closed his eyes. You all watched as his hair turned white, steeling yourselves for another battle. He opened his yellow eyes: Terranort.

“He IS their thirteenth,” Mickey said as Terranort brimmed with the power of darkness.

“Today is the day you all lose,” he said. 

“What?!” you and Aqua asked. 

“Before you even face the thirteen, every last one of you will be torn heart from body. But fear not.” Terranort summoned his Keyblade. “The Chi-blade will still be forged.”

“We're not gonna lose to you,” Celina said. Terranort moved quick as lightning, while you and Aqua paralyzed, and struck Ven full blast with the Keyblade. Ven crashed to the ground, unmoving, and Terranort smirked to himself. You and Aqua stared at Ven's fallen body.

“Ven!” Aqua cried. 

“That’s it!” you shouted. You summoned your dagger, your father’s Keyblade, and Odile and ran to strike Terranort, but the man stopped your blades just inches from his hand with a Gravity spell. Try as you might, you couldn't move the blades in any direction. Terranort widened his fingers, knocking you away.

“(Y/N)!” your friends shouted. The other Spirits tried to attack Terranort but he kicked them away too. He turned his attention to Kairi, but Axel moved to cover her, and Terranort knocked him through a boulder.

“Axel!” Kairi cried out. Terranort raised his blade and Sora rushed over to Kairi.

“No! Sora!” Mickey shouted. Donald and Goofy ran after him as Sora grabbed hold of Kairi, covering her. Terranort brought his blade down, slamming into Goofy's protective shield. They both went flying in opposite directions. Donald focused and a magic circle appeared underneath him. King Mickey's mouth dropped and Goofy landed on the ground.

“Donald, don't!” Goofy said. 

“Zettaflare!” Donald shouted. An incredibly powerful burst of energy exploded from Donald's magic wand, enveloping Terranort and casting him away. Sora smiled once the flare died down, but the wand fell from Donald's hand and he collapsed to the ground. Sora stood frozen as Mickey, Vanitas, Ansem, Xemnas, Goofy, Kairi, Riku, and Aqua ran over to their fallen companions.

“Ven...” Aqua said. You, Sora, and the other Spirits were stunned. 

“This can't be real,” Vanitas said. A dark pool emerged from the ground, frothing with malice, as the Demon Tide erupted from within. Sora stood still as it swirled in the air. Riku turned toward Sora, grabbing his shoulder.

“Pull it together, Sora! We haven't lost them. They still have their hearts. But we have to protect them,” he said. 

“Right!” Aqua walked up to them as the swirling mass of Heartless grew more violent.

“We stand together!” she said. You and Celina stood up and walked over to Aqua. 

“If they mess with one Spirit...” you started.

“Then, they mess with the others!” Celina finished. Sora and Riku nodded. The five of you ran forward and summon your weapons. Aqua turned back to the others.

“Mickey, Kairi, Goofy, Vanitas, Ansem, Xemnas, watch the others,” she said. 

“Hold on just a minute! You heard what Celina and (Y/N) said! You mess with one Spirit, you mess with the others!” Roxy said. 

“No, we should all get to safety, while we still can,” Mickey said.

“It's too late for that,” Xemnas said. From different corners of the Graveyard, more Demon Tides arrived and merged with the spinning swarm before you all becoming a massive tornado of Heartless. You all stared, wide-eyed at this monstrosity, power in a scale you've never faced before. From within, Aqua saw something that terrified her.

“It can't be... No...” she said softly. She lowered her Keyblade as the despair settled in and before you and the others could react, the Demon Tide struck her down.

“Aqua!” you, Riku, and Celina shouted. The squirming evil swept along the ground, carrying Ventus, Vanitas, Xemnas, Ansem, you, the other Spirits, Kairi and Axel away. Goofy and Mickey were helpless to stop the tide and were lost among them as well. Sora reached out to you and Kairi and the two of you did the same as the two of you were pulled back into the raging cyclone by the Demon Tide. Sora dropped the Keyblade, falling to his knees, and screamed at the top of his lungs, overcome with grief as Riku rushed to his side.

“Sora!” he said. 

“They're gone. (Y/N), Kairi, Donald... Goofy, the King... Gone forever,” Sora said as tears welled up in his eyes. “What do we do?”

Riku was at a loss for words. 

“Without them...I... All my strength came from them. They gave me all of it. Alone, I'm worthless,” Sora said as his tears fell to the ground. “We've lost... It's over.”

As Sora cried, Riku resisted the urge to let him continue. He clenched his fist and stood up. 

“Sora, you don't believe that. I know you don't,” he said. He walked forward as the Demon Tide swirled closer. He planted his foot on the ground and raised his Keyblade, shielding Sora. As the Tide approached, he slammed his blade into the swarm, the force of the wind blowing through their clothes. He raged against the force of the Tide, his body blackening as Sora watched. Even with all of his strength, the Heartless overtook him and proceeded to wash over Sora. 

And so, as foretold, darkness prevailed, and light expired...

The Lost Princess Chapter 40

Yui and Roxy had arrived at Hollow Bastion and began searching for you. They looked all over town but could not find you. But they weren’t about to give up. As they were scanning the town, a Dark Corridor opened up. 

“I thought that you were searching for the Spirit,” their father said. 

“We are. We know that she’s here, we just don’t know where,” Yui said. 

“Heh, she’s probably with that boy toy of her’s,” Roxy said. 

“Whatever. If she is with the Keyblade wielder, then I’ll take care of it.” Their father walked back into the Dark Corridor and disappeared. 

“Tch, does he always have to ruin our fun?” Roxy asked. 

“You know that he has good reason to do so,” Yui said. Roxy grumbled something under her breath and the two of them disappeared. 

You and the trio had arrived in Hollow Bastion, where the town was bustling with activity. Moogles were flying through the air selling items, and people were at work trying to rebuild the town. You, Sora, Donald, and Goofy ran in and gazed at the castle in the midst of rebuilding.

“It's Hollow Bastion!” Sora said. 

“Gawrsh, it looks kinda different now,” Goofy said. 

“I hope Leon and the gang are doing okay,” Donald said. Goofy saw some Soldier Heartless on the roof of a nearby building.

“Uh-oh. Looks like we're gonna have to do some fightin',” he said. You and the trio ran over to the building and took care of the Heartless. You, Sora and company walked through the Marketplace and spotted an elderly duck holding some ice cream near a freezer.

“Uncle Scrooge!?” Donald asked. 

“Er, who?” you asked. 

“He's Donald's uncle---a business typhoon! Before the Heartless showed up, he traveled the worlds on a Gummi Ship with the King. He was helpin' to set up a traffic system,” Goofy said. 

“Transit system!” Donald corrected. 

“What's all the racket?” Scrooge asked. He turned around and spotted you four.

“Why, if it isn't Donald! And Goofy! Hello, lads! Aye, you all look hale and hearty!” he said. 

“So do you, Uncle Scrooge,” Donald said. 

“Ah, if only I were... I canna seem to recreate my favorite old-time ice cream. I'd make millions if I just got it right...” Scrooge looked at the ice cream bar in his hand, licked it, and looked disgusted.

“Terrible...!” he said. You, Sora, Donald, and Goofy made your way to the Borough, where some odd light pedestals appeared and disappeared, as if scanning for something.

“Hey, what's going on?” Donald asked. 

“That's the town's defense mechanism.” The four of you turned around and saw Yuffie on top of a building.

“Yuffie!” you and Sora said. Yuffie waved slightly, and saw something behind you four.

“Look out!” she said. Sora's Keyblade flashed into his hands as a Dusk swooped in to hit him. The four of you were quickly surrounded by Nobodies. The four of you disposed of them, and the defense mechanism also helped.

“Hey, you guys!” Yuffie said as she hopped down to the four of you.

“I see you're still in top form,” she said.

“What'd you expect?” you smiled. 

“Looks like you're doing okay,” Sora said. 

“Well, what did YOU expect?” 

“How are the others?” Donald asked. 

“Great!”

“Hey, Yuffie! Have you seen the King and Riku?” you asked.

“Nope.” She started to walk off toward Merlin's House.

“But I had a feeling I'd see you guys again,” she said. 

“‘We may never meet again, but we'll never forget each other,’” Sora said as he imitated Leon.

“Is that supposed to be Leon?” You, Donald, and Goofy laughed.

“Everybody's working on stuff over at Merlin's house. C'mon!” Yuffie said. Yuffie ran around the corner. You and the trio followed her and entered Merlin's House. Cid was typing at a computer, while Aerith and Leon watched.

“Meet the Hollow Bastion Restoration Committee!” Yuffie said.

“We missed you!” Aerith said. 

“Well, if you ain't in top shape,” Cid said. 

“I knew it,” Leon said. 

“Knew what?” you asked. 

“A while back, everyone suddenly remembered you guys, all at the same time.”

“You...remembered? Wait! Does that mean you forgot about us!?” Sora said. 

“Thanks!” Donald said, annoyed.

“So where've you guys been all this time?” Yuffie asked. 

“We were sleepin',’ Goofy said. 

“Where? In cold storage?” Cid asked. You and the trio acted nervously. 

“It doesn't matter. This is great. Everyone's together again!” Aerith said. 

“So, um...we're trying to find Riku and the King. Have you seen 'em?” you said. Leon, Aerith, and Cid shook their heads.

“Right. Um, do you know anything about Spirits and where they come from?” you said. They shook their heads again.

“Sorry. But let us know if there's anything we can do to help. Okay?” Aerith said.

“Okay. Thanks,” Sora said. Cid got up in you and Sora's face.

“Don't go thankin' us just yet,” he said. 

“Hollow Bastion's got a problem. A big problem,” Leon said. 

“You mean, like Nobodies? And Heartless?” you asked. 

“That's right!” Yuffie said. 

“Sounds like you could use our help,” Sora said. 

“Then let's cut to the chase. (Y/N), Sora, Donald, Goofy. We were hoping the four of you might give us a hand around here,” Leon said. Sora patted his chest proudly.

“Like we're gonna say, no?” he asked. 

“...I forgot who I'm dealing with,” Leon said. 

“Hey...what do you mean by that?” Donald asked. 

“Just think of it as a sort of ‘Leon compliment,’” Aerith said. Leon opened the door.

“Follow me to the bailey---there's something you need to see,” he said as he left and Merlin appeared. 

“Oh! I thought it was you. Right on time!” Merlin said. 

“It's Merlin!” Donald said. 

“Sora and the gang said they're gonna help out!” Yuffie said. 

“Splendid! We'll count on you!” Merlin said. 

“Right!” you and the trio said.

“Ah, yes. Did you give them the cards, dear?” 

“Oh!” Aerith said. She took out four cards from her dress.

“Here...they're presents for you. Leon thought you might like to have them,” she said. You took one of the cards and flipped it so you could read it.

“Hollow Bastion Restoration Committee Honorary Member!” you said.

“Membership cards!” Donald said. 

“Sweet!” Sora said. 

“Kinda cool, huh?” Goofy asked. You, Donald, and Sora nodded.

“Hey, thanks, Leahhh...huh?” Sora said. He turned around to the door and saw that Leon was gone.

“Oh no! We're supposed to be at the bailey!” you said. 

“Just a moment, you two. What about your magic?” Merlin said.

“Huh? Oh, that's right...” Sora said as he crossed his arms.

“Maybe you forgot it while you were asleep!” Yuffie said. 

“Now, what am I to do with you? I suppose I'll have to lend you a few spells. But be careful with them!” Merlin said. 

“Thanks, Merlin!” Sora said. 

“What about you, (Y/N)? Do you need some spells too?” 

“Actually, I can summon a guardian when I want to!” you said. 

“Oh! Well, it seems that you’re in good hands then.”

“To the bailey, and fast!” Donald said. you, Sora, and company reached the bailey, and saw Leon looking over the edge at the dark castle far in the distance.

“Look at that,” he said. You and Sora gasped.

“We want to restore Hollow Bastion to what it used to be. Who knows---maybe even something better. There's still a lot to do, but I'm sure we can handle everything--- Except...for that...” Leon said as he pointed to the castle, then pointed to two Dusks walking in the direction of the castle.

“...and that,” he said. 

“We'll handle 'em!” Sora said. 

“Well, that's good to hear. So Sora, (Y/N)---do you know what's going on, then?”

“There's this guy, Pete, who's been going around plotting with the Heartless. But he's not smart enough to tie his own shoes. The ones we need to worry about are the Nobodies. And there’s two Spirits that I need to take care of,” you said. 

“Two Spirits? Interesting.”

“And don’t forget about those Organization XIII guys in charge, too!” Goofy said.

“You called?” someone said. All five of you looked around and saw no one. You and Sora ran out into an open area.

“You're doing well,” the person said. 

“Who's that!?” Sora asked as he unsheathed his Keyblade.

“See dad? I told you the Spirit will be with the Keyblade wielder,” a girl said.

“This calls for a celebration...” Several Dusks had appeared. Leon readied his Gunblade. You and Sora chased the Dusks through the bailey. The gate to the inside closed. You, Sora, and Leon helped keep the Nobodies away from the gate.

“The Keyblade...a truly marvelous weapon. Were it only in more...capable hands...” the person said. A group of six people laughed including two girls.

“Show yourselves!” you said. Six cloaked figures appeared and the central one raised his arms while two girls sat in front of them, smirking.

“Organization XIII!” Goofy said. 

“Good! Now we can settle this!” Sora said.

“What a shame... And here I thought we could be friends. Yui, Roxy. You know what to do,” the central figure said. 

“You got it!” Roxy said. The two girls disappeared and reappeared behind you. 

“Surprise!” Yui said. You felt them grab your arms, giving you no way to grab your dagger.

“(Y/N)!” Sora yelled.

“Sora, help!” you said. The two girls took you through a Dark Corridor and disappeared. The figures disappeared with a laugh.

“Stop!” Donald said. He ran to a set of stairs and a single cloaked man appeared before them.

“What's the big idea!?” Donald asked. 

“Oopsy-daisy!” the man said. 

“Move!” Sora said. 

“Now, do you think that's polite, shutting me down like that?”

“I said get outta the way!”

“As if! You can talk all you want, but that won't change a thing.”

“Then we're gonna MAKE you move!” Donald said. 

“See, that would work---if I were just any old dude. 'Cept I'm not. I'm with the Organization. Nothing ‘any old’ about me.” (really?! how do explain the whole luxu thing then?!)

“Ha! Tough talk for someone who stood on the sidelines while his Nobody flunkeys did the fighting!” Sora said.

“Oh, dear. I think you got the wrong impression.” The hooded man wagged a finger at Sora.

“You gonna cry?” Sora asked. 

“As if! Why don't I remind you how tough the crowd you're dealing with really is?”

“Remind me?” Sora snapped out of it, causing the man to laugh.

“That's RIGHT, he used to give me that same exact look,” the man said. 

“I guess you think you can psych me out by saying really random stuff!” Sora said.

“Gee... I just don't know.” The man spread his arms open as if challenging them to strike him. He soon gave up.

“Ugh, you guys are boring,” he said. 

“What did you do to (Y/N)?” Sora asked. 

“Me? Oh, you’re accusing the wrong person here. That was all Yui and Roxy. The Superior’s daughters. They have the power of a spirit as well. So, they needed (Y/N) to help complete their powers.”

“What do you mean by that?” Sora asked. 

“Can’t say. But I do know that those girls will take good care of your precious (Y/N). They’re not that mean, you know.” He looked at them and waved.

“Be a good boy now!” he said. 

“Wait!” Donald said. The man disappeared as Donald tried to jump on him.

“Nuts! He got away!” Donald said. 

“That was weird. WHO gave him the same look? And what did he mean by taking care of (Y/N)’s powers?” Sora said. 

“Y'know, I think he was just tryin' to confuse ya,” Goofy said.

“Yeah, you're right. Only one me!” Sora took out his membership card and read it.

“The Hollow Bastion Restoration Committee Honorary Member---” he said. The card began to glow. Sora gasped and let go of it. It floated in the air to everyone's amazement. The Keyblade started to glow as well.

“Huh?” Sora asked. 

“What's this?” Leon asked. 

“Gawrsh, ya think...?” Goofy asked. Light flashed from the Keyblade and the card. Wind blew through Sora's clothes and hair as a crown symbol appeared on the ground beneath him. The card revealed a Keyhole and Sora locked it, opening a gateway.

“Ohh...now I get it. That must've been the gate Yen Sid talked about,” he said.

“Oh boy!” Donald said. 

“Sorry to run, Leon, but other worlds are calling. And I have to save (Y/N) from the Organization,” Sora said. Leon nodded.

“Organization XIII... They look tough. Be careful out there,” he said. 

“See ya soon.” Leon saluted them. Sora's group reboarded the Gummi Ship and noticed that their map had changed.

“Hey! What happened to Twilight Town?” Chip said.

“It's gone!” Dale said. Sora piloted the Gummi Ship through the Asteroid Sweep to the Land of Dragons.

“Don’t worry, (Y/N). I’ll save you,” he said.

You and the trio had left the Fourth World Entrance and had entered the world, Monstro. 

“What a weird place! Everything's kinda springy and soft,” you said. 

“Nice and warm, too. I'm startin' to feel like a nap,” Goofy said. 

“I think you should be a little more worried,” someone said. 

“Who's there?” Donald asked. There, Pinocchio was hiding behind a wall.

“You're inside the belly of Monstro the Whale,” he said. Jiminy jumped onto the ground.

“Why, I know that voice... Pinocchio? Pinoke, it's you! Come on out!” Jiminy said. 

“Is that you, Jiminy? Gosh, I thought I'd never see you again!” Pinocchio said. 

“Gee, there's no way you wouldn't find me again. I'm your conscience. And your conscience will always be your guide. Remember?”

“Sure, Jiminy. And I've been a good boy, promise. I didn't tell a single lie.” All of a sudden, Pinocchio’s nose grew longer. 

“Uh-oh!” he said. 

“Well, for Pete's sake!” Jiminy said. 

“Oops! But...how did YOU end up inside Monstro, anyway?”

“We, uh, sort of used a special way...” Sora said. 

“It's so special, we don't know how we did it!” Goofy said. 

“That's too bad... I was hoping you could help me and Father get out of here.” 

“Well, I'll be! Geppetto's here, too?” 

“Sure he is. Follow me!” You and the others followed PInocchio to a ruined ship inside Monstro's mouth, where Geppetto was.

“Geppetto!” Jiminy said. Geppetto walked over to the ship's edge.

“Bless my soul, it's Jiminy Cricket. How in the world did you get here?” he said.

“You tell me! How does a clockmaker wind up in the belly of a whale?” Jiminy said.

“Well, it's a long story...” You and the gang climbed onto the ship, and Geppetto told his story.

“So you sailed out to look for Pinocchio...” Donald said. 

“...and Monstro swallowed you!” Goofy said. 

“Yes, but I found my son. I would do anything for my Pinocchio,” Geppetto said. 

“But now you can't get out, can you? Being stuck in the belly of a whale is awful,” you said. 

“Not if Pinocchio and I are together. That makes everything a little bit better. There's nothing better than being reunited with someone you care about.”

“Yeah... I know what you mean,” Sora said. 

“Me too,” you said.

“I don't care if I'm trapped here, so long as I have Pinocchio. He's such a good boy.” 

“Well, he still tells fibs. But with a little help from me...” Jiminy said.

“Oh, Jiminy, you worry too much.” 

“Speaking of Pinocchio... Where is he?” Sora asked.

“He was here a minute ago. Where's he gone this time?” Donald said.

“I expect he's off exploring. That boy has been poking around just about everywhere inside this monster. He won't tell me why it's so important. I tell him it's dangerous, but he won't listen.” 

“That boy's a handful! Sora, (Y/N), if you don't mind...”

“I know, I know. You want us to help you find him, right? C'mon, guys, let's get going!” Sora said. You, Donald, and Goofy nodded in agreement.

“Oh!” Pinocchio said. You, Sora, Donald, Goofy, and Jiminy found Pinocchio in another area of Monstro.

“Pinocchio! What are you thinking?! You know Geppetto worries when you wander off by yourself,” Jiminy said.

“Jiminy was worried, too!” Donald said. 

“I'm sorry...” Pinocchio said. 

“What are you doing, anyway? Looking for something?” you asked. 

“Um...yeah, I'm looking for treasure!” Pinocchio’s nose grew longer.

“Here we go again!” Jiminy said.

“Now, don't be so hard on the little fella, Jiminy. We promise not to get mad, Pinocchio. Is that why you're afraid to tell? No need to fret. Tell us the truth---we'll understand. Put yer trust in Goofy!” Goofy said. 

“...I was looking for a way out. Father says he's happy, but it's my fault we're stuck here. I shouldn't have run away from home. I want to help Father get home to the workshop. But he'll worry if I tell him what I'm doing.”

“So that's why you thought you had to tell a lie,” Jiminy said.

“All you need now is courage!” Donald said.

“Tell Geppetto the truth. With a little courage, you can do it! If you tell him how you really feel, I bet he'll help you find a way out,” you said.

“And we'll give you a hand!” Sora said.

“No more keeping secrets, then. Have we got a deal?” Jiminy said.

“Sure! I'll be brave and tell Father how I really feel. No lies this time!”

“Great! Then your nose won't---” Suddenly, the ground started to shake.

“What's happening?!” you asked.

“Pinocchio, run for it!” Jiminy said. Pinocchio ran away. A Parasite Cage Heartless fell from the ceiling in front of him.

“Pinocchio!” you and Sora said. Pinocchio was trapped inside the Heartless.

“Help! I'm trapped!” he said.

“What?!” Sora asked. You and the trio fought the Parasite Cage. After the fight, the Heartless was knocked out, but Pinocchio was still trapped inside.

“Help me! I'm scared!” he said.Pinocchio was trapped inside the Heartless.

“Don't give up! Try fighting your way out!”

“Be brave... Okay, I'll try!” Pinocchio jumped up and down, which opened the Heartless' cage and allowed Pinocchio to climb out, right before the Heartless was destroyed and its heart was released.

“Pinocchio, are you alright?” Jiminy asked.

“Don't worry, I'm okay. Just a little sticky...” Pinocchio said as he got up.

“But I have a great idea! That thing spit me out when I started fighting back. Why don't we try the same thing with Monstro?” he said.

“Of course! If we're lucky, Monstro might cough us up!” Sora said.

“Great idea! Let's go deeper inside and try it!” Donald said.

“I'm going, too!” Pinocchio said.

“No, it's too dangerous,” Jiminy said.

“Aww, c'mon...”

“You should be with Geppetto. No use escaping from Monstro if you two get separated again!”

“Leave this to us,” Sora said.

“I guess you're right. Be careful, everybody!” You and the trio left to explore Monstro. You, Sora, Donald, and Goofy entered Monstro's throat.

“Looks like this is as far as we go,” Goofy said.

“Ready, then? Let's shake things up!” you said.

“It would be easier if we had someone to fight...” Donald said.

“Perfect timing. Looks like we've got company!” Sora said. Several Shadow Heartless surrounded you and the trio. One spooked Donald. The four of you defeated the Heartless.

“Whew...” Sora said. Suddenly, the ground started to shake, which shocked you and the trio.

“A-hyuck?” Goofy asked.

“It's working! Monstro's gonna sneeze!” Jiminy said. Monstro started to sneeze. The four of you group was risen out of the throat and landed in Monstro's mouth.

“Oww... Now I know what getting shot out of a cannon feels like,” Sora said.

“Where's Pinocchio and his dad?” Goofy asked.

“They're gone. They must've gotten out safely,” Jiminy said.

“Without you, Jiminy? I thought there was no escaping your conscience!” you said.

“I don't mind being left behind, as long as they're both safe. Maybe Pinocchio doesn't need me after all.” 

“What do you mean?” 

“That little puppet used to have trouble telling right from wrong. But he's come a long way. Maybe he doesn't need Jiminy Cricket anymore. Seems like he's got a conscience of his very own.” 

“Don't you remember what Geppetto said? ‘There's nothing better than being reunited with someone you care about.’ I bet Pinocchio's counting the days till he can see you again,” Sora said. Jiminy jumped back onto Sora's shoulder.

“Well, what do you know... You might be right,” he said. Goofy and Donald nodded while you smiled in reassurance. You and the group then left Monstro. You, Sora, Donald, and Goofy entered the Fourth Floor Exit Hall.

“Who could that have been before in my memory?” Sora asked. 

‘It wasn't Kairi... But another...girl? Maybe... I think her name was...’ Sora thought.

“Sora!” Donald said. 

“Ah!” Sora said surprised.

“(Y/N)’s having another headache,” Goofy said. He saw you on the ground, clutching your head, and breathing heavily with your eyes tightly closed. 

“(Y/N)? Are you okay?” Sora asked as he knelt down to your height. You didn’t say anything but continued to breathe heavily. 

You were back where you saw Vanitas during your last headache and you ran up to him.

“Vani! What’s going on? Why am I getting these headaches? What are you not telling me?” you asked. 

“Follow me,” he said. You walked with Vanitas and you saw a silhouette of a boy on a chair.

“Is that you, Vani?” you asked.

“Not technically,” he said. You looked at him confused. 

“I was originally part of him when dad ripped me out with his keyblade. I’m back in him now but it’s only a matter of time before dad does it again.” 

“What should I do?” 

“I need you to use your powers to protect me and him.” 

“Are you sure?” 

“100%. It’s the only to protect me. I don’t want be part of his schemes.” 

“Okay.” You used your powers and placed a protection spell on Vanitas and the boy. 

“What’s his name?” you asked when you finished the spell.

“Ventus. Ven for short,” Vanitas said. 

“Will I ever get to meet him?” 

“Maybe. You never know.” He started to disappear and you gave him a hug before he went. 

“I love you, big brother,” you said. 

“I love you too, little sis,” he said. He disappeared and you returned back to the trio. 

“Are you okay?” Sora asked. You nodded and slowly stood up. 

“That was your second headache. Are you sure you’re okay?” Donald said. 

“I-I’m fine. I think this castle is messing with me,” you said. 

“If you say so,” Sora said. The four of you continued, you staying close to Sora so that you could keep your balance. Somewhere in the castle, the girl was still in the white room, drawing. She was drawing a picture in her sketchbook of you, Sora, Kairi, herself, and Riku holding hands. You, Sora, and the gang entered the Fifth Floor. Goofy and Donald nodded as the four of you walked toward the door.

“I remember!” Sora said. 

“Huh?” Donald and Goofy asked. 

“There was another girl!” 

“Really?! Me too!” you said. 

“What? A girl? Where?” Goofy asked.

“No, no, I mean on the islands where (Y/N) and I used to live. Besides (Y/N), Kairi and Riku, there was one other girl I was friends with. The five of us played together all the time,” Sora said. 

“I remember that too! She was really sweet!” you said. 

“Sora, (Y/N)...Seems to me that's the first time you've mentioned her,” Jiminy said. 

“Yeah...I guess we forgot all about her. I think...she just suddenly went away when we were still really little,” you said. 

“What do you think made you remember that now?” Donald asked. 

“I'm not sure. But it's been coming back in pieces as we go through the castle,” Sora said. 

“Gawrsh, do ya remember her name?” Goofy asked. 

“I don't remember. I feel kinda dumb. We said we weren't gonna forget our friends, and well now... I can't even remember her name,” Sora said. 

“Me neither,” you said. You and Sora put your head down, ashamed.

“Sora...(Y/N)...” Donald said. 

“Aww, you shouldn't be worryin', none! If it's been coming back to you in pieces... You're sure to remember her name just like everything else!” Goofy said. You and Sora nodded, still a bit worried. You and Sora held up the next card at the Fifth Floor world entrance, and entered to the next world.

The Lost Princess Chapter 31

You and the trio had exited the Seventh Floor entrance and had entered the world of Neverland and you four had found yourselves in a ship. 

“Where are we now?” you asked. 

“The floor is kinda unsteady. I can hear the ocean too...” Goofy said.

“I know! We must be inside a ship!” Donald said.

“Well, we’d better find a way out. But which way do we go?” Sora said. Tinkerbell flew in and surprised you four. 

“Wak!” Donald said. 

“Who are you?” Sora asked. Tinkerbell said nothing but flew around you four. Jiminy jumped down from his spot on Sora’s shoulder.

“Maybe she’s trying to help you,” he said. 

“Looks like you’re right!” Goofy said. You and the trio followed Tinkerbell to another part of the ship. 

“Is it just me, or are all of the rooms starting to look the same?” you asked. 

“Maybe we’re just going in circles?” Goofy asked Donald.

“Some help SHE was,” Donald said. Tinkerbell heard Donald and flew around him angrily. 

“I think you mighta ruffled her feathers, Donald,” Goofy said. 

“Tink, what are you doing?! You weren’t supposed to bring the pirates WITH you!” someone said. Peter Pan flew down from the ceiling and landed in front of you four. You and Sora ran to him but Peter pulled out a dagger.

“Stay back, pirates! Or this will be the last fight you pick!” he said. 

“What’s the big idea! We’re not pirates! We’re only here because...hmm...Why are we here, Sora?” Donald said.

“Huh? How am I supposed to know, Donald? Goofy, (Y/N) what do you think?” Sora asked. You shrugged your shoulders, not knowing as well.

“Gawrsh, beats me,” Goofy said.

“Okay, okay, I understand. (Y/N), Sora, Donald, Goofy, right? I guess if you were real pirates---you wouldn’t get lost on your own ship. Plus, you’re dressed funny,” Peter said. 

“There you go again!” Donald said. 

“Wait, so if you thought that we were pirates...This must be a pirate ship!” you said. 

“That’s right. You’re trapped inside the Jolly Roger---ship of the ol’ codfish, Captain Hook.”

“Well, if we’re trapped, that means you are too!” Donald said.

“Me? Don’t be silly. No one can capture Peter Pan! I’m just laying low until it’s time to spring my plan.” 

“What plan is that?” Goofy asked.

“The pirates kidnapped my friend Wendy. She’s got to be somewhere on this ship.” Tink flew next to Peter Pan.

“I didn’t expect there to be so many pirates on watch, though. I sent Tink to look for a way around...but all she found was you,” Peter said. 

“I bet I know what Tink had in mind! If we all make a big enough racket---we can distract the pirates!” Sora said. Tink flew around Sora.

“Gawrsh, you musta read her mind!” Goofy said.

“So how ‘bout it? Let’s work together, at least until we get above deck.”

“Well, why not? Of course, I could save Wendy myself, if I wanted to. But you guys look like you'd be stuck without me.” Peter flew away.

“Don’t you have ANY manners?” Donald asked. Peter Pan and Tinkerbell flew into the room inside where Wendy was.

“There she is!” Peter said.

“Peter? Peter Pan!” Wendy said. You, Sora, Donald, and Goofy had entered the room.

“Wendy, are you alright? I’ve come to rescue you with my three new Lost Boys and my new Lost Girl. C'mon, let's get off this leaky ol' tub and do some exploring! Ha ha! We'll never grow up!” Peter said. 

“Listen, Peter. I've got something to tell you... I want to go home to London,” Wendy said. Peter looked at her shocked.

“What are you talking about? Why would you want to do that? You'd have to turn into a grown-up. Besides, goin' on adventures is a lot more fun! If you go back to London, you'll have to leave the nursery. You'll grow up and we'll never see each other again!” he said. Wendy turned away.

“I know, Peter. But... I still want to go home,” she said.

“I came to rescue you! And you don't care if you ever see me again!” Peter said.

“No, you don't understand!”

“Suit yourself! And while you're at it, rescue yourself! I'm leaving.” Peter soon left.

“Hey, wait a minute---” you said.

“There he goes,” Donald said. 

“Peter...” Wendy said.

“Not very thoughtful, is he? What do we do now?” Sora asked.

“Hey, I've got an idea! Why don't we think of something once we get up on deck?” Goofy said.

“That doesn't make any sense...I think,” Donald said.

“Well, there's still trouble waiting outside. Wendy, you stay here. We'll try to create a distraction,” you said.

“All right. Be careful,” Wendy said.

“Maybe if you stay here, Peter will change his mind and come back,” Goofy said. You and the trio left the room and entered the deck of the ship.

“Whew! We finally made it out!” Donald said. 

“There you are, you rascals!” someone said. You and the trio looked towards the voice and saw Captain Hook.

“I'll teach you to play stow away on my ship! Friends of Peter Pan, I'll wager!” he said. You and the trio turned to one another.

“Are we his friends?” Donald asked.

“He sure didn't seem to think so,” Goofy said.

“Yeah, the way he took off like that,” you said.

“He even ditched Wendy,” Sora said. Hook became angry.

“I'm not finished talking yet! How dare you ignore me and plot behind my back! Uncivilized brats! You're in cahoots with Peter Pan, no mistake!” he said.

“If you say so. Either way, you're gonna let us off this ship,” Sora said.

“And Wendy's coming with us,” Goofy said.

“Think again, you scallywags! Hook's one step ahead of you!” Wendy was on the edge of the plank, which shocked the four of you.

“Wendy!” you and Sora said. You and the trio ran to the edge of the ship.

“Any trouble, and Wendy takes a long walk off the plank!” Hook said.

“You wouldn't!” Donald said.

“Believe me, I'd rather not. After all, I need Wendy to bait that blasted Peter Pan!”

“Then I'll just have to take the bait, you old codfish!” Peter said.

“Huh?!” Peter Pan and Tinkerbell appeared in front of Wendy.

“Peter!” Wendy said.

“Here I am, Hook! Miss me?” Peter said.

“Insolent BRAT! Today is the day you pay for taking my hand!” Hook said. Hook ran toward him, but Peter flew behind Wendy and held her in his hands. He then flew out of the way, leaving Hook hanging at the edge of the plank.

“Uh-oh!” Peter said.

“Agh? Wa-wa-wa-wa-whoa!” Hook said. Hook regained his balance. He then got angry.

“You've made a fool of me for the last time, Pan! I'll cleave you to the brisket!” he said. You and the trio fought Captain Hook and defeated him.

“Thanks, Peter, we owe you one,” you said.

“Well, at first I thought I'd let you handle it, but it really looked like you needed help. But hey, you three did pretty good, though. Wendy, about London... Are you sure you won't change your mind?” Peter said.

“Peter, I'm sorry. But I really want to go home,” Wendy said.

“I was afraid of that... Everyone grows up---and grown-ups always forget. First you'll forget what it feels like to be young, and then you'll forget about me.”

“How can you say such a thing, Peter? I'll never, ever forget you.”

“Sure, that's what you think now. But when you try to remember me, the memories will be gone. You'll forget---little by little, one memory at a time. Once you're grown up, there won't be a single memory left.”

“Don't say that. Memories---even important ones---don't come back to us whenever we want them to. But that doesn't mean the memories are gone. It's more like...like they're sleeping. So when the right thing comes along and wakes the memory up, we can remember it. The memories engraved in our hearts never go away. I'm sure of it,” Sora said. 

“He's right, Peter,” Wendy said.

“Never, huh? It's funny. I thought everybody who left Neverland forgot all about it. But I have a feeling you guys just might be different. Okay, Sora! If you say we'll meet again, then I believe you!” Peter said.

“Oh, Peter!”

“Let's go, Wendy. London is waiting.” Wendy nodded and Peter picked her up and started to fly.

“Goodbye, Sora. I'll be waiting to see what you look like all grown up!” he said. Peter, Wendy, and Tinkerbell flew away, but then Tinkerbell flew back to you and Sora.

“What's the matter, Tink?” you asked. Tink created a card of herself and gave it to you and Sora.

“This must be a gift from Peter,” Sora said. The two of you put the card away.

“Maybe he's not such a thoughtless guy after all,” Donald said. A Moogle fell from the sky and landed on Donald.

“Oww!” he said.

“Another gift from Peter?” Goofy asked. You, Sora, and Goofy laughed. The Moogle flew away and you all left Neverland. You and Sora entered the Seventh Floor Exit Hall. The two of you gasped as you entered, seeing Riku, walking towards you two.

“You're... Riku?! What are YOU doing here?” you asked.

“Not happy to see me? Lemme know if I'm getting in the way---ya know, of something that's more important,” Riku said.

“Huh? She didn't mean that...” Sora said.

“Hmph. Spare the excuses. I bet that you had all but forgotten about me.”

“Are you crazy? C'mon. We came all this way looking for YOU!” you said.

“But you're not anymore, right? Now it's only Naminé that you two are looking for. You don't care about me. Just like you never cared... ...at all about her feelings.”

“Naminé's...?” you and Sora asked.

“Hmph. I knew it. Never even gave it a thought, did you? Just cuz you want to see Naminé---sorry---doesn't go both ways. Tell ya the truth, Naminé doesn't even want to look at your face.”

“Why not?!” you asked.

“You two should ask your memories...why Naminé disappeared from the islands. Remember that, and you'd know.”

“Did we... Did we do something? Is it our fault? Riku...” Sora said. Darkness enveloped Riku and he was in his darkness armor.

“Go home, you two. I'll care for Naminé. Anyone who goes near her...” Riku said. He summoned his weapon, Soul Eater.

“...goes through me!” he said. Riku attacked you and Sora, who blocked the attack with his Keyblade and your dagger causing the blades to clash together.

“What's---What's wrong with you?! We're supposed to be friends!” you said.

“Please. Since when have you two ever cared about me? Naminé's not the only one who's sick of looking at you. So am I!” Riku said as he jumped backward.

“Riku, stop it!” Sora said. The three of you continued to battle. After the battle, Riku panted and ran away into the Eighth Floor.

“Riku!” you said.

“Please wait!” Sora said. You and Sora chased Riku into the Eighth Floor. By the time the two of you entered the floor, Riku was gone.

“Riku!” Sora said.

“Where are you?!” you asked. You and Sora didn’t see him, and put your heads down. Donald and Goofy entered the room.

“Sora, (Y/N), are you okay?” Goofy asked.

“Don't worry about us,” you said.

“Riku...what happened?” Sora asked. Jiminy popped out of Sora’s shirt.

“Hmmm... Sure was strange. Almost like Ansem was back controlling Riku again,” he said.

“But we got rid of Ansem for good,” Sora said.

“Then I wonder what is wrong with Riku...” Goofy said.

“Hold on... The king! If he's with Riku, he might be in danger!” Donald said. Goofy nodded. They both looked at you and Sora, who was still upset over Riku.

“Sora...(Y/N)...” Donald said. Jiminy hopped down to the floor.

“I know... You're thinking Riku isn't your friend... But that's just not true,” he said.

“Ya sure?” Sora asked. 

“Well, I know he said some awful things to you back there... But you gotta remember---we are in Castle Oblivion. Why, folks lose their memory here a little bit at a time. Riku's probably just forgotten that the three of you were such close friends. That's all.”

“So he just forgot?” you asked.

“My guess is that's so. But guys...instead of being sad, we have to figure out a way to help Riku get his memory back. If we all work together, why, we're sure to get you through this. No need to mope.”

“Jiminy's right. You shouldn't push your friends away,” Goofy said. Donald and Goofy nodded.

“Yeah, okay,” you said, still upset. Donald and Goofy exchanged looks and nodded.

“Sora, (Y/N), do you remember our very first promise?” Donald asked.

“Huh?” you and Sora asked.

“Always smile!” Donald and Goofy said.

“That was the promise we made to each other the first time we met!” Goofy said. Donald nodded in agreement.

“We promised to never forget to keep smiling!” Goofy said. You and Sora started to cheer up.

“You're right,” Sora said. You and Sora held up the cards to the next floor entrance, and entered to the next world.
