thinking about that volcano in Arizona called S P Crater because some 1880s rancher said it looked like a chamber pot, and also that mapmakers refuse to call it anything other than "S P Crater" because the "S P" stands for "Shit Pot"

Back in the 1880’s ole C.J. Babbit, a high country Arizona rancher climbed the shoulder of this cinder cone and declared it looking like a damn shit pot! In the decades following, as Arizona was surveyed and mapped, cartographers apparently found Babbit’s name a bit indecent. From there on out, it’s listed on maps simply as SP Crater - but for those who know, the real name lives on with a good chuckle.
