Time to go fight the pillars. I'm gonna do Solar first, then vortex because it's close to my base, then stardust so I can get the summons and then nebula. Probably going to get destroyed first time around but at least then I can get super healing potions!

Welp, I guess this is it then. I've finished the run. This was pretty brutal but fun. Time to carry on one of my other worlds, I guess? I'll miss this one a lot.

So I beat the mech bosses in master mode melee (with a bit of summoner) terraria

After I beat queen slime, I went back to the ice biome to try and get a frozen turtle shell. I didn't get that, but I did finally get myself a frostbrand!

I also did the torch god event in a tiny granite biome. Probably not the best place to do it but it worked.

The twins showed up one night so I decided to try out my bananarangs against them. It actually went pretty decently until I got to the living trees part of my skybridge which didn't have enough space to dodge.

I wanted to get a bladetongue and some ichor so I bought some crimson seeds and tried to get some blocks for an artificial crimson.

It... took a while for me to get anywhere with that.

While waiting for that to happen, I fought the goblin army a couple times and finally got the warlock to drop a shadowflame knife instead of that dang hex doll! Now I could set my enemies on 4 kinds of fire at once >:)

I decided to give the twins another go with the knife, and died really fast. This happened a few more times.

Back on the grind I finally had enough crimson to set up a nice fishing spot.

I got a bunch of good stuff from it, but I still couldn't kill the dang twins.

Eventually I got annoyed and decided to restock on potions and summoning items from a free items server to save time. I actually killed spazmatism this time, but I'd run away so fast that retinazer had despawned. The next time I tried, however...

I got the mini twins first try too! I killed them again and got safeman's set!

I needed to kill them another time to get full hallowed armor, but that wasn't too much of an issue. I'm starting to run out of room for more trophies...

I decided to go look for some life fruit in the (hallowed) underground jungle. It took a while but I found some!

My first fight with the destroyer went decently, even though I just sat in the air in my pirate ship for most of it. I got it's health down really low before I was overwhelmed by lasers. Skeletron prime went a lot worse, so I was going to do destroyer first. I'd just need some bulkier armor and more health regeneration.

Before I killed the twins, I'd farmed the old one's army tier 1 to get the defender medals I'd need to afford full squire armor and a ballista cane asap. I'd then gone and completely forgot about that plan. I remembered it now, and went to buy all the stuff from the tavernkeep. Then I decided to give tier 2 old one's army a go. It was intense, but I was handling myself decently until wave 6. I tried to take on too many flying enemies at once and died. Surely it was over. I ran back to my arena as wave 7 began. I pelted the ogre with shadowflame knives. It got to the crystal and promptly died. Had I won? Not quite, apparently. I had another ogre to fight. I was sure the crystal would run out of health before I killed this ogre, but it hung in there and I won first try.

I realised the squire armor would be perfect for the destroyer. It had high defense, nice regeneration and I could back myself up with 4 piercing ballistas.

This probably would have been fine, but I wanted to give myself as much of a chance as possible. I built myself a nice sky platform with some blocks to shelter and plenty of honey pools.

The fight was trivial. My ballistas rained down bolts and I rained down shadowflame knives when I wasn't dealing with the probes as they flew up. I was even able to kill it twice in one night.

Now, I just needed to beat skeletron prime. But first, I wanted to farm the destroyer to get its master mode pet! Unfortunately the game said no, you're fighting skeletron prime tonight. With plenty of buffs and a lot of flying around, I took down the last mechanical boss with help from my destroyer arena's honey pools.

I had to start mining out a new row for trophies!

Fortunately, my life fruit jungle farm also served up a plantera bulb. Now it was just a matter of gearing up for that big fight.

Ok funny story

So I was fighting plantera (like you do) and I got caught in my farm trying to swap to my defense loadout and died. I spawned back in and went to go grab my money and I saw a tentacle coming up my mineshaft. It turns out my house is close enough to my plantera arena that I could just jump back into the fight and finish it off.

Got the hexxed branch and boooy it is fast. That thing is so speedy the whole screen blurs. It was great for fighting pumpkings. If I needed to get some distance between me and it I could just hop on the mount and run. I also finally got the witch's broom. I love this accessory so dang much. I use it all the time once I've got it. Even for boss fights sometimes! Come to think of it I can probably hover through the jungle temple without worrying about traps too. Hopefully I get the horseman's blade next time!

I've gone into a crimson world to try and farm for the key for the vampire knives. A moon stone and a psycho knife would be quite nice while I'm at it too.

So I beat plantera in terraria master mode melee (with a bit of help from a friend)

Okay, after this I'm gonna start just doing small posts. I can't keep this long post thing up.

Anyways, I had a plantera bulb ready in my farm. I just needed an arena. And some better gears.

I used my new souls to get a true night's edge. Then I went and used shimmer to reforge it to legendary without paying anything!

Now this thing can destroy enemies. It was great going back to the jungle and juggling turtles with it's beam until I could get the turtle shells and chlorophyte for turtle armor.

My NPCs are still idiots. I eventually had to mine out the floor to get her back in the house and out of the lava pit.

Then I had another solar eclipse and got two death sickles.

I spent ages reforging my fire gauntlet to lucky.

I then went to farm the destroyer to get the pet. Most of my town died but I got it so it was worth it!!

My brother's friend wanted to join me so I went and finished bombing out the arena while setting them up with some good mage gear. We fought plantera once with not too many buffs just to see if we were good enough yet, and we were pretty close to winning. So, I went and grabbed a bunch more potions and we went back to the jungle. I kept its attention with my turtle armor and beserker glove and pelted it with death sickles while my friend kept it debuffed with their cursed flames and golden shower. It chased me all around the arena many times, but we took it down pretty easily.

So, next up is the jungle temple!

I got a solar tablet before dying to traps, so I started a solar eclipse and got the broken hero sword!

I decided since I had the money I might as well be lazy and reforge it via goblin tinkerer. It didn't take too long to get legendary!

So I finally got the Night's Edge

A bunch of stuff happened since last time. With my new nightmare pickaxe and set of shadow armor, I headed down to hell and started mining hellstone. By the end of that I had a Volcano, a Flamarang and a full set of molten armor. I went to go fight Deerclops and it went pretty well. Took me a few deaths before I got back into the rhythm of running through its legs repeatedly though.

After that, I decided to take on the old one's army. I'd found the tavernkeep in the underworld so I picked up a ballista cane and a crystal stand and plonked it in my world without thinking to actually set up an arena. I was overwhelmed by the enemies and died to the dark mage.

Before my next attempt I set up a proper arena. I didn't realise platforms wouldn't make that ground count as flat, so it was a lot smaller than intended and I lost again. For my next try I properly blocked up all the holes and while I wasn't able to beat the army, I was able to flamarang the dark mage to death right before it despawned and it dropped its mount. The book mount's controls are a bit fiddly but it's pretty fast and good for getting across the world. It's also great for fighting deerclops.

Next I decided to have a go at Skeletron so I could get the night's edge. That went... less than well. I realised I would probably have to finally go about finding a beehive so I could kill the queen bee. It turned out there was one pretty close to my jungle base anyway. It was rather cramped so I started bombing out an arena. One misplaced sword swing later and the Queen Bee was on the attack. I'd got it down to abobut 100hp before it took me out. I came back with some food and made the arena a bit bigger and was able to kill it three times in a row.

Even with the hive five and a hive pack I still died to Skeletron right after taking down both hands. So back to the grind. I went down to the underground desert (finally) and grabbed a bast statue. I also famed the queen bee a few more times to get the Honeyed Goggles. I ended up a lot closer this time, but still couldn't finish it off before it killed me. So I went and got some potions. I headed back to the dungeon with a regeneration potion, endurance potion, ironskin potion, thorns potion, shine potion, swiftness potion and a burger. I'd also gotten the medicated bandage to protect myself against the bleeding debuff which had really been messing with me on my attempts.

I put down my two houdius shootiuses (?) and went to talk to the old man. Once again he exploded. The honeyed goggles allowed for much better mobility than just my terraspark boots and yellow horseshoe balloon. I kept my distance and pelted it with my flamarang. However, the bee mount gets slower over time when you don't have time to stop and recharge. I dropped the mount and went back to my boots and balloon. The potions helped me take a lot more hits than before, so I was still at good health when both hands went down. I swapped my medicated bandage out for a hive pack and pulled out my Hive Five. I'd spend most of the time it was firing skulls flying around to avoid them, before going in with the yoyo when it started spinning. Finally, it was defeated!

I still had some time left on my buffs so I dived right into the dungeon. I cleaved my way through hordes of skeletons until I opened a chest and found the murumasa. With all 4 ingredients, I headed down to a demon altar and crafted the Night's Edge.

...I was going to have to reforge it. Fortunately I had a lot of money stockpiled.

...Apparently it wasn't enough. Time to shred the EoW as many times as I can!

Doing it this way is really easy and pretty fun. It's a shame I have hardly any vile mushrooms. Eventually I was able to reforge it to Godly and I settled with that for now. Maybe once I get some more gold I can try for legendary.

Just need to do a million things to prepare for hardmode, but then wall of flesh here we come!

So I beat the eater of worlds on my first attempt

My terraria master mode melee challenge has been going pretty well. So after I beat the EoC in my last post, I finally went back and got the last few things I needed for an ivy whip and the blade of grass. It was bulky but it worked fine enough. I was also able to max out my health. I set up a proper base in that tree next to the jungle so I could start a pylon network out of it and also built a skybridge to the ocean. Still trying to find that shimmer biome.

I really wanted to fight king slime now, but I didn't have any rubies for making crowns. I was just looking up the odds for a slime rain to start when one started on its own. My blade of grass made quick work of the regular slimes and their king.

I decided I was going to try and get the goblin tinkerer so I could put together a bunch of my accessories. I jumped into the corruption chasm, smashed two orbs and ran away. Wasn't going to fight the EoW yet. The goblins came pretty soon after and many deaths later I beat them.

I found the Goblin tinkerer in the underground snow biome while I was waiting for the dye trader to move in so I could get the snow pylon. I got a tinkerer's workshop and a bit later reforged my blade of grass. I got legendary after a few tries!

So after that I decided I'd throw on an exquisitely stuffed buff and try and get as many shadow scales as possible before dying. I went back down the chasm, put down my spare eater of souls banners and bombed out a bit more of an arena. I also added a campfire and then chucked a bomb down to the last orb.

I was having some serious trouble hitting the worm with my sword for some reason, so I decided why not hop on my slime mount? So then I spent the next minute or so having an absolute blast boinging off the top of the ceiling onto various segments while swinging around my various weapons at it. I could regen my health faster than it could hurt me and I won easily. After going and opening my treasure bag I decided to go fight it again before my buffs wore off, so back to the chasm I went. The next fight went pretty similarly to the last one, except this time I had a Ball o' hurt and a shadow orb light pet. I opened the treasure bag to this one and got a lucky worm scarf! That should be useful for the rest of the game!

Hopefully sometime soon I'll actually get one of the master mode exclusive drops... I fought king slime like 7 times and didn't get any baby king slime pets :(
