A typical Chardham Yatra begins in the capital of Uttarakhand, Dehradun, and covers the four major pilgrimage sites. Here’s a brief overview of what you can expect from our Chardham tour packages from Hyderabad:
Yamunotri: The first stop on your Chardham Yatra is Yamunotri, the source of the Yamuna River and the seat of the Goddess Yamuna. It is the westernmost shrine in the Garhwal Himalayas and is a serene place for pilgrims to begin their spiritual journey.
Gangotri: Next, you will visit Gangotri, the source of the sacred Ganges River. The temple at Gangotri is dedicated to Goddess Ganga, and the site holds immense religious significance for Hindus. Pilgrims take a dip in the holy waters to purify their souls and receive the blessings of Goddess Ganga.
Kedarnath: One of the holiest shrines dedicated to Lord Shiva, Kedarnath is located in the majestic Garhwal Himalayas. The journey to Kedarnath is challenging but rewarding, with breathtaking views and a deeply spiritual atmosphere. What are the rituals and local beliefs of Badrinath Dham?
The most famous festival in that region is ‘Mata Murti Ka Mela’ which marks the descent of the river Ganges to several tributaries. On this day, the worship of Goddess Badrinath's mother takes place, and that's why it is the most significant ritual of Badrinath.

The Four Shrines of Uttarakhand
Gangotri Temple The Gangotri Temple is located in the Uttarkashi district and is situated at a height of 3,415 meters. Among the four temples, Gangotri holds a special position as it is the origin of one of the most important rivers in our country, the Ganga. It is, therefore evident that the Gangotri temple devoted itself to the Goddess Ganga. According to Hindu mythology, Gangotri is the place where the river Ganga descended from heaven when Lord Shiva released the mighty river from his luscious locks.
Yamunotri Temple The Yamunotri Temple is located in the Uttarkashi district and is situated at a height of 3,293 meters. This temple is dedicated to Goddess Yamuna. A bath in the sanctified waters of Yamuna is said to cleanse all sins and protect from an untimely or painful death. Such strong associations in Hindu mythology place Yamuna Devi in high ranks of divinity. The temple opens on Akshaya Tritiya and closes on Yama Dwitiya for the winter.
Badrinath Temple The Badrinath Temple is located in the Chamoli district and is situated at a height of 3,300 meters. Situated between the mighty Nar and Narayan peaks, the Badrinath Temple dedicates itself to Lord Vishnu. According to a Hindu Legend, the God Vishnu sat in meditation at this place. During his meditation, Vishnu was unaware of cold weather. Lakshmi, his consort, protected him in the form of the Badri tree (jujube or Indian date). Pleased by the devotion of Lakshmi, Vishnu named the place Badrika Ashram.
Kedarnath Temple The Kedarnath Temple is located in the Rudraprayag district and is situated at a height of 3,583 meters. It is also one of the significant temples of the sacred Char Dham Yatra in Uttarakhand, raising the glory of the place to further heights. This temple dedicates itself to Lord Shiva. According to a theological account, the god Shiva agreed to dwell here at the request of Nara-Narayana. After the Kurukshetra War, the Pandava brothers, came here to meet Shiva on the advice of the sage Vyasa, because they wanted to seek forgiveness for killing their kin during the war. However, Shiva did not want to forgive them: so, he turned into a bull and hid among the cattle on the hill. When the Pandavas managed to track him, he tried to disappear by sinking himself head-first into the ground. One of the brothers grabbed his tail, forcing him to appear before them and forgive them. The Pandavas brothers then built the first temple at Kedarnath.

Title: Map My Destination - Kedarnath – A Comprehensive Travel Guide
Introduction:
Kedarnath, nestled in the Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand, stands as a sacred Hindu settlement surrounded by the majestic Garhwal Himalayan ranges. This divine destination, situated at an elevation of 3584 meters, is renowned for its ancient temple dedicated to Lord Shiva and offers a captivating trekking experience in the Himalayan circuit.
About Kedarnath:
The name "Kedarnath" translates to the "Lord of the field," symbolizing the spiritual significance of the region where the "crop of liberation" supposedly grows. While the temple's construction remains uncertain, historical references date back to the 7th or 8th century, with legends connecting it to Adi Shankara's passing near the sanctuary.
History & Mythology:
According to mythology, after the battle of Kurukshetra, the Pandavas sought Lord Shiva's blessings in Banaras. However, Shiva, desiring solitude, hid in Guptakashi. The Pandavas persisted in their search, leading Shiva to transform into a buffalo, then become invisible, leaving behind his hump at Kedarnath. The cosmic energy at Kedarnath is believed to absolve the Pandavas of their sins.
Location:
Situated in the Rudraprayag district, Kedarnath is the most remote of the Char Dhams, surrounded by snow-capped peaks and near the Chorabari Glacier, the source of the Mandakini river. Despite suffering extensive damage in the 2013 flash floods, the temple remarkably withstood the calamity.
Weather:
Summer (April to June):
During the summer months, Kedarnath experiences cool and pleasant weather. Daytime temperatures range from 15 to 20 degrees Celsius, providing a comfortable environment for pilgrims and tourists alike. This period is considered the best time to visit Kedarnath, as the weather is conducive for trekking and exploring the breathtaking landscapes surrounding the town.
Monsoon (July to September):
The monsoon season in Kedarnath brings with it the challenge of heavy rainfall, often leading to landslides and difficult trekking conditions. Pilgrims and travelers need to exercise caution during this time. The risk of extreme rainfall poses a threat to safety, and it is advisable to stay updated on weather forecasts and travel advisories if planning a visit during the monsoon.
Autumn (October to November):
As the monsoon recedes, the post-monsoon period offers clear skies and stunning views of the surrounding Himalayan peaks. The weather starts getting colder, providing a preview of the upcoming winter. Pilgrims can still visit during this time, but it's important to be prepared for lower temperatures, especially as November approaches.
Winter (December to March):
Winter in Kedarnath is harsh, with temperatures dropping significantly, often reaching sub-zero levels. Heavy snowfall covers the region, making it challenging for any kind of travel. The Kedarnath Temple remains closed during the winter months (usually from November to April) due to the extreme weather conditions. The idols are shifted to Ukhimath, where worship continues during this period.
Chardham Yatra Season:
The Chardham Yatra, which includes Kedarnath, usually begins in April or May and concludes in October or November, depending on weather conditions. This pilgrimage attracts devotees from across the country.
How to Get There:
Kedarnath is well-connected by air, with the nearest airport being Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun. The closest railway station is Rishikesh, and the last motorable point is Gaurikund, from where a trek of 16 km leads to Kedarnath. Helicopter services are also available from various helipads.
