fontaine doesn't deserve wrio i swear to god.

half the reason is me blaming the government (yes i love neuvifuri yes i can shittalk abt the way they rule fontaine these statements can co-exist) because how are they not aware a crime such as human trafficking was happening right under their noses. only god knows how long had this issue been going until the victim himself had to take matters into his own hands. and what was his solution? to kill the foster parents, AND MIND YOU he was no older than a teenager when he did this. how Bad was the situation that he thought the only way to save his "siblings", the best way to put an end to all this, is to kill his "parents"—not report to the gardes or whatsoever.

and because of this decision he made, the sacrifice he made, he ended up in prison, and he was still a kid back then. and i think this entire segment of his life is what shaped the personality he has today. it's like he's repenting his crime for life by shackling himself down in meropide, kilometers below the surface. even though he's technically a free man since he finished serving his sentence, he chose to become the new administrator to make that prison a better place for "exiles" like him.

his character story says that he isn't prohibited from going to the surface, yet neuvillette says he never leaves the fortress. one can say it is because he is the administrator so he has to be there at all times to keep unruly prisoners in check, but seeing him on the surface for "fresh air" or "taking a break" is as rare as the blue moon.

and this is me overthinking that wrio thinks he doesn't deserve all that—you know, going up at the sun to reward himself, let alone a fucking VACATION. it's just so tragic. even i as a wrio main using him to explore the world makes me so so sad because he would've loved to see this place or that, try this village's specialty and bring home a souvenir or two. it feels unfair even the ever so busy neuvillette stepped out of fontaine once, and clorinde, navia, and furina even went out sightseeing, but knowing wrio, he'd turn down the invitation and stay in the fortress because—it is where he belongs, or maybe he thinks he doesn't deserve to go up the surface and enjoy because he's repenting, or he'd say something like "crimes don't suddenly stop one day, so there should be someone who needs to stay behind and keep an eye out." BRO I JUST WANT YOU TO GO ON A TRIP AND UNWIND. YOU DID SO MUCH FOR YOUR SHITTY COUNTRY. YOU DESERVE MORE THAN A PAT ON THE BACK. BRO CAN I JUST STUFF YOU IN MY BACKPACK AND SHOW YOU HOW PRETTY THE WORLD CAN BE. WHY DO YOU HAVE TO BE SO TRAGIC FOR MY POOR FRAGILE HEART OH MY GOD

oh, and the other half reason is he should've been in a manhwa. he deserves what a manhwa duke has—duchy, power, money and all. imagine how good he would look in such outfits. gods i want to spoil him so bad.
