KOKIA in flashback - 2006

The year of 2006 is an exciting one for KOKIA. She has gone abroad to perform before, but now she makes it all the way to Europe for concerts in Paris, France and represents Japan at MIDEM 2006, the World Music Market, in Cannes. Her new album aigakikoeru ('listen for the love') even gets a French/European release in November, ahead of the Japanese release next year and with an exclusive track. It is not her first album this year; she has enough songs to compile her first best of-album, resulting in the release of Pearl and Jewel, collecting her best of songs and promotional videos respectively.

Although KOKIA has been creating music for games and (animated) series and movies since the beginning of her career, the start of 2006 puts the spotlight on her with the single Ai no melody/chouwa oto ('melody of love/sound of harmony'), the opening and ending song for the movie Origin: Spirits of the Past (Giniro no kami no Agito in Japanese). Especially Chouwa oto ~with reflection~ turns into a much-requested hit, with KOKIA still regularly performing this song almost 20 years later. It is a new version of Chouwa, the first song on her album trip trip from 2002, which incorporates KOKIA-go ('KOKIA-language') by reversing the syllables of the Japanese lyrics.

And last but most definitely not least, 2006 is the year KOKIA becomes independent. In May, she decides to start her own private office, anco&co, which she runs to this day, in order to more freely express herself as an artist rather than being tied to the Japanese music scene. Aigakikoeru is her first release after her independence.

She starts her 47 Stories concerts this year, intending to visit all 47 prefectures of Japan, although in the end doesn't manage to get to all 47.

Sementara Taman Angsoka menjadi salah satu spot foto yang kece, hingga banyak yang menjadikannya sebagai lokasi foto prewedding. ok its like 2am what better time than now to

hELLO!!!!

Forgive me for taking so long with this (and everything, let me perish)!

I’m Flora!!! Some of you may know me as Mod oo4, or now as Mod Lyra!

I have been around for many, many moons.... I hung out in UPM for a long while, and then ended up as one off the original mods of Citta! Which puts me as modding that group for like 7 years..... haha....ha........

But now I’m here!!! And I’m happy to have you all with me!!!!!!

Other than that stuff, though, Terezi is my main muse and has been for around 5 years now. I occasionally pick up others that last varying lengths of time (the most common being Mithos Yggdrasill, and the current being Kari from Digimon) but I never stray from tz for long.

And don’t talk to me about her or Mithos because I will never shut up ever.

uhhh. I’m 25 years old (aka old), have a degree in Sociology, got to spend a semester studying abroad in Japan, and now have a full time job testing software for medical facilities and such. I enjoy writing about characters taking long walks on the beach, cosplaying said characters and having photos of long walks on the beach (ok im not actually that into beaches it just seemed right), making everyone send me the eyes emoji, and coming up with terrible events and plots that make characters cry.

The city of Rimini, Italy is one that offers a varied scale of excitement to all who visit.

If your interests lie in historical sights or basking in the glory of the Adriatic coastline, Rimini has it all for those who want to explore at length.

1. Arch of Augustus

The Arch of Augustus stands tall at the end of Rimini’s main road, the Corso di Augusto. It dates back to 27 B.C. when it was built as part of the Via Flaminia, which were defensive walls that surrounded the city. It is the oldest of arch-like structures from the Roman era to still exist intact. When the wall was taken down in the 1930s, the arch remained as a captivating sight for tourists with a distinctive open gateway with no doors meant as a sign of peace.

2. Museo della Citta

The Museo della Citta or the City Museum is where Rimini houses a rich part of its history. The building is a former Jesuit monastery, and the exhibits are arranged and displayed in a chronological order that shows off history from the eyes of the nation and from Rimini itself. One major exhibit that can be found here is the Surgeon’s house, a Roman villa that was discovered down the road from where the museum is in 1989 along with all of the medical instruments of the time. There is also an extensive array of other artifacts like ancient coins and bronze items to be seen.

3. The Wheel of Rimini

Situated on the waterfront, the Wheel of Rimini has grown to become a way to take in the scenic vista of the city and the ocean beyond. The giant Ferris wheel was built in 2009, complete with self-enclosed booths at the end of a marina. After paying a fee, those riding the Wheel will be taken up to the top and for a few seconds, the attraction pauses in order for those to get prime snapshots of the entire area. Be advised that the operators do tend to close down at times to perform maintenance and repairs.

4. Ponte di Tiberio

Not too far from the Corso di Augusto lies the Ariminus River and the Ponte di Tiberio aka the Tiberius Bridge. It began under the reign of the Roman emperor Augustus, but was completed during the reign of Tiberius and then named in his honor somewhere around 21 A.D. Bearing original inscriptions from back then, the Ponte di Tiberio has remained largely untouched throughout the years.

KOKIA in flashback - 1999

The year of 1999 marks the first year KOKIA releases a full album by herself, and also the year of her first single that she wrote herself: Arigatou... ('thank you'), still one of her most famous songs, having received many new versions and releases over the past years.

It is her third single, and it ranks third in the Hong Kong International Popular Music Awards that year. Arigatou... is covered in Cantonese by Sammy Cheng, a famous singer from Hong Kong, and that version tops the Hong Kong music charts.

KOKIA's first album, songbird, is the first and last album she releases under the Ponyo Canyon label. Much later, in 2008, the album will be released again as a complete collection from her Ponyo Canyon years 1998 and 1999, including some extra songs from those years.
