“Lenya called from Paris...” He had not expected something like this to be sprung on him. “Yurivič knows about Katya.” He had been so busy making sure Milena remained cool and rational, that he had not had time to truly process what the information meant. What it really meant. He should have spent an hour alone and altered his schedule for the day instead of holding the scheduled meeting with his inner circle. “The French too. Staying in the meeting room once the meeting had wrapped up had never been something she did. they’d been holed up in her room for HOURS at this point, examining the issues of ukrainian occupation from every angle. it’s rather telling when anya is the one to request a break and pull the dark chocolate truffles she kept hidden in her desk. the fine cocoa melts on her tongue as she holds the bag out in offer. ❝ if only we could direct vitya’s machinations towards yurivič. TWO BIRDS, one stone, ❞ she sighs. ❝ we should never have been here in the first place. ❞ but this was meant to be a break, so anya offers a nicety in place of her speculations. ❝ what do you think of the program so far? ❞
