dude i was feeling so great before a pathetic cis man once again questioned my intelligence
#and then 2 days later i see his project so far and its so sad and pathetic#dude went on a trip to nyc with his coworkers and was lonely so he wrote an 8 minute song about it and out it over sad clips of nyc#so WHY DO I STILL FEEL STUPID???#this dude assumed i didn't know what secondary action in animation is#on the day of our workshop on the 12 principles of animation#for which i made the whole animation demo#after be had presumably seen the animations I'd posted in the class discord server#this dude is so lame and im letting him make me feel like shit#he's repeatedly spoken to me like he assumes I'm the stupidest person in the room#i think it's cause im so clockable#misogynist cis men who usually treat women this way also treat trans men this way if we dont pass enough#idk man that's gotta be it#cause i may be stupid but im a little smarter than average i think#im as smart as an art student with adhd (and the other one that i dont wanna name bc of recent usa events) can be#but dude he ruined my whole fucking week with that#my spirit was crushed#i even complemented his powerpoint even though it was bare bones and ripped from wikipedia#and he didn't complement my demo or even comment on it#other than during it he did it along with the other students and when i encouraged him he was all#yeah gonna see if this actually works#HUH??#buddy it's just a pendulum exercise it's not rocket science#do you doubt my ability to animate a pendulum?#fuck you dude#the way he talks to me is like those men who ask women wearing band tees to name 1 song by the band#no wonder your coworkers didn't wanna hang out with you dog you suck#when he 2nd guessed if i knew what 2ndary animation is#i like shared a glance with a classmate and she seemed just as incredulous abt that comment as i was#so at least i know im not crazy

speaking of catholicism and forgetting all the words… remember when they changed “and also with you” to “and with your spirit” … my school literally took a half day off lessons so the local priest could visit all our classes to inform us of this and make us practice. i was 8 and i think that’s when i became radicalised against religion in the irish education system
#do you know how much valuable class time you lose at aged 8 in ireland#because SO MUCH of that year in 2nd class is devoted to communion prep#scrap the whole lot and ALL of that time needs to be devoted to history geography and science#if parents want their kids to have their sacraments so bad they should do it themselves#‘oh but you attended a catholic school what did you expect??’#girl i began school in my small town in 2006 it was a catholic school or nothing

vital part of the Kids Cant Read discourse thats KILLING ME is that the only opinions we see are from english teachers. this is fine when the discussion is ostensibly about literacy but i think we should pass the phone to math teachers and computer science teachers. because im a little suspicious that the focus on stem for the past 20+ years could be a contributing factor
#'kids dont even get spelling tests anymore because their teachers just expect theyll have spellcheck 😥😥'#1. they will (said as someone coming up on 8 years of school spelling competitions)#2. which generations fault is that 🤨#3. if spelling is being phased out but we all know block coding what does this say about how our 'stem first' values are working out#not sure how well i articulated this but the answer you should be at rn is 'they arent'#english class has been devalued to where people on this site think 'media literacy' means 'agreeing with my take'#people irl say computer science is the only way to make money#theres huge misconceptions about simple shit youd learn in a humanities class#the concept of cultural diffusion. which religion believes what. history of different countries.#things ive had to tell grown adults: africa is not a country. or a barren wasteland. neither is the arctic circle.#the amazon ALSO has people in it. the us DOES have something to do w the philippines actually#is this how we get the james somertons of the world#nah jk he didnt know how to code. did yall see the process of him privatinf his videos lmfao

I can cross "threw up over the side of a boat" off my bucket list now :D

#I was out trawling today w/ my marine invert class#for like 8 hours today trying to fish up inverts. Squids and crabs and stuff like that#which we found a lot of!!! But we also got a shark on accident and that was really funny#not just bc It's A Whole Shark but bc they're like really hard to find this time of year in this area#bro was just chilling too#we put him back tho don't worry we just checked him for parasites first#anyways like 6 hours into the trip the water got like. Suuuuper choppy#and this dumb ass did NOT take his dramamine#thank god the wind was strong enough it didn't get all over me. That boat needs a clean tho#OH OH WE ALSO GOT A HUGE ASS JELLYFISH MID-DIGESTION#you could see the fish whole trapped inside the jelly. We got to watch it get digested :3#science is Pretty Cool#crane-talk

#this was an 8:30am class and one day it was raining and 15 minutes in still only 5 people had showed up and he went over to the window and#said 'i hate this' to himself but loud enough that we could hear#my post#adventures in science

Okay so I put this in tags but I need to say this in a reblog. This is a perfectly sensible way to write this for any math class above, like, middle school math. I won't argue with the last two sentences but if you're going into anything even remotely STEM-related, pemdas is the most basic thing to know. And i understand plenty of people don't use it day-to-day but please don't say "no sensible person" because that's just not true.
wanna see exactly HOW bad tumblr is at math so tell me
#no sensible person would write it that way#like okay i'm a second year computer science major/math minor so i understand i have personal/knowledge-based biases with this#but that really rubbed me the wrong way#(also to me the original feels wayyyy more natural than the rewritten version)#but yeah. order of operations is very important to know so don't act like it's just some gotcha#it's like saying that english classes test basic reading comprehension at threat of failing a class. that's the point. it's that important.#<- that one is a very opinionated statement and i acknowledge that#edit: i've received word that op meant to put 8-5 instead of 8-3. doesnt really matter to this reblog but yeah

heard a song that reminded me of a video i watched when i was 12 and then that reminded me of being 12 which reminded me of being 13 and then i listened to music i liked when i was 13 which reminded me of one of the biggest things that happened to me when i was 13 which was that i was in love with marvin the martian and tbh 12 years later not much has changed
#year 8 was truly the school year ever#year 7 was too ''i'm new and have no idea what's going on'' and also#there weren't any defined friendship groups yet bc no one properly knew each other so like if there was drama in the class it somehow#involved everyone. or was that just my class. idek 12 year old drama is so funny#but yeah then year 9 had the looming gcse threats from teachers (dgmw i loved year 9 though)#and then year 10 and 11 were like. the serious years (again though i actually loved year 11 lol. year 10 was the worst though)#but year 8 is just. fucking around. nothing matters in year 8#the whole purpose of year 8 is to see how many dicks you can draw on the table and in your school pplanner. nothing else#ugh why am i romanticising school. it's fine though year 8 is different#i remember once a golden retriever managed to get into the school and was just running around the field#and we were all in a science lesson and no one was listening bc like????? there was a happy dog outside??#and one of the pe teachers was holding him from running away and he was just smiling#literally the best thing that has ever happened. this is unrelated i just wanted to talk about a golden retriever#although tbf it did happen when i was in year 8 so it's relevant#anyway i need to go rb pics of marvin the martian and wish i could stay 13 forever#ramble

How NCERT Simplifies Complex Concepts for Students

The NCERT (National Council of Educational Research and Training) books have long been hailed as a cornerstone of India’s educational system. Renowned for their simplicity, depth, and alignment with the school curriculum, NCERT books cater to students of all grades. Their ability to distill intricate topics into easily understandable formats is one of the primary reasons they are preferred by students, teachers, and parents alike. With the rise of digital learning, the availability of NCERT book PDFs has further enhanced accessibility, enabling students to learn on the go.
In this article, we delve into the various ways NCERT books simplify complex concepts for students and explore why their PDF versions are becoming an indispensable resource for modern learners.
1. Clear and Concise Language
One of the standout features of NCERT books is their use of straightforward and concise language. The content is designed to cater to students from diverse linguistic backgrounds, ensuring inclusivity. Technical terms are clearly explained, and complex concepts are broken down into smaller, manageable sections.
For instance, in subjects like science or mathematics, NCERT books often introduce a concept with simple examples before diving into the theoretical or technical aspects. This step-by-step approach ensures that students grasp the fundamentals without feeling overwhelmed.
2. Visual Aids and Illustrations
NCERT books extensively use diagrams, charts, and illustrations to simplify topics. These visual aids not only enhance understanding but also make learning more engaging. For example, in biology, diagrams of plant cells or the human digestive system provide students with a clear visual representation, aiding memory retention.
In NCERT book PDFs, these illustrations are of high quality, allowing students to zoom in for a closer look and study the details. This feature proves particularly helpful for subjects that rely heavily on diagrams, such as physics, chemistry, and biology.
3. Systematic Presentation of Content
The content in NCERT books is meticulously organized, following a logical sequence. Each chapter begins with an introduction, followed by the main content divided into sections, and concludes with a summary. This structure ensures that students can navigate through the material with ease.
Additionally, chapters often include “Did You Know?” sections and real-world applications of the concepts being taught. These elements not only pique students’ curiosity but also help them connect theoretical knowledge with practical scenarios.
4. Comprehensive Exercises and Activities
NCERT books include a variety of exercises at the end of each chapter, ranging from objective questions to descriptive ones. These exercises are designed to test students’ understanding of the topic comprehensively.
Furthermore, NCERT books often include hands-on activities and experiments, particularly in science subjects, encouraging experiential learning. By conducting these activities, students gain a deeper understanding of concepts through practical application.
5. Aligned with Examination Patterns
NCERT books are closely aligned with the syllabus prescribed by CBSE and other state boards. The content is curated to meet the requirements of school examinations as well as competitive exams like JEE, NEET, and UPSC. This alignment ensures that students do not need to rely heavily on supplementary materials.
For students preparing for these exams, the NCERT book PDFs are a boon. They can easily search for specific topics, bookmark important sections, and revise efficiently.
6. Incorporation of Real-Life Examples
Another way NCERT simplifies complex concepts is by incorporating real-life examples into the narrative. For instance, in social science subjects, historical events are explained through stories and anecdotes, making them more relatable. Similarly, in mathematics, problems often revolve around everyday scenarios, such as calculating distances, areas, or financial transactions.
This contextual approach helps students understand the practical applications of what they learn, making education more meaningful.
7. Focus on Conceptual Clarity
Rather than encouraging rote learning, NCERT books emphasize conceptual clarity. The questions and exercises are framed to test understanding rather than memorization. For example, higher-order thinking questions challenge students to apply their knowledge in novel ways.
By studying NCERT books, students build a strong foundation, which is crucial for tackling advanced concepts in higher studies.
8. Free Availability of NCERT Book PDFs
The availability of NCERT book PDFs has revolutionized the way students access educational material. These PDFs are freely available on the official NCERT website, making quality education accessible to all.
Students can download these PDFs on their devices and study anytime, anywhere. This is particularly beneficial for those in remote areas or those who cannot afford physical textbooks. The digital format also allows for interactive learning, with students using tools like highlighting, annotations, and hyperlinks for better comprehension.
Conclusion
NCERT books have successfully simplified the process of learning by presenting complex concepts in an accessible and engaging manner. Their clear language, use of visuals, systematic presentation, and focus on conceptual clarity make them an ideal resource for students of all grades.
With the added convenience of NCERT book PDFs, these textbooks have become even more versatile, catering to the needs of modern learners. By leveraging these resources, students can not only excel academically but also develop a deeper understanding of the world around them.
In a world where education is increasingly digital, NCERT books and their PDF versions stand as a testament to the power of simplicity and accessibility in learning.
