I know this is coming from me, a morbid bitch, and I know we are talking about a world in which resurrection is possible and communication past death is as well. But that's still not an option for the vast majority of people in that world; even in Exandria most people die and they don't come back in any capacity. Indeed, one might say that a theme of this campaign is a people who either have been brought back - not always willingly - or people who lived past the point where they wanted to or expected to die. (this is also a theme of the Mighty Nein, but in a very different way.) Anyway, this is going to sound immensely cheesy but I do hope that a number of Bells Hells go check out Evontra'vir and spend some time hanging out in there, but also perhaps the fandom should, metaphorically, do so as well, because I think a lot of disagreement or weird takes could be improved by accepting that there will be death in these stories.

Death Saves and Character Deaths are a mechanic in the game. The players know this and have experienced this before. They have had past encounters in other games where they have faced an opponent too powerful for them and ran. This time they chose to fight.

It is NOT Matt's fault, nor his intention, for any PC deaths when his players— his friends, play D&D with him.

Everyone will handle things tonight in whatever best helps them. Please, don't forget to love each other and don't forget to love the players and DM.

I feel like your crush reacting to your romantic overture by going "Wow, there must be something medically wrong with you. Hold on while I fix this ASAP" is a bad sign.

I hope Keyleth isn't too upset when she uses up a 4th-level spell and Vax (I assume) does not retract his statement, indicating he's not just acting weird due to being clonked on the head by an animated suit of armor or something.

and my pipe dream is that he tells us in the wrap up. or. most ideally. we get some variation of it in-game when orym sees dorian again.
