📺 Last tv series you binged

I said before, it was Control Z. A teen drama/mystery show which is only 24 long chapter divided in 3 seasons. It's very good and keep you on your toes with many plot changes

It's silly but yesterday. I was watching a Naruto film and it made me cry. In my defence, when my period is coming small stuff makes me cry. Before that one was with the film Dumplin'

I think it was when I was in my 2 years studies between Highschool and University (it's a course required in Spain). I send a short story to my schools 'Jocs Florals/Sant Jordi' (which are a prose and poem competitions held around April/23th of April) and I just won for the Spanish prose contest. At the time I was mad because I won it. I was made go up to a stage and read it.

I'm thinking about Bryce Dallas Howard in Argylle. And how the whole movie, I kept thinking, "she looks like me." Elly Conway/Rachel Kylle is midsize. I'm midsize. I kept being struck by seeing a character who looked like me on screen, and god, if I was so surprised by it, I can't imagine what it's like to be fat and never see positive fat representation. Even just neutral fat representation. Elly's body is never discussed in the film (in contrast to a movie like Love Actually, for example, where Natalie's body is a constant topic of conversation for the other characters, to the point that they treat it as her defining trait). How many characters are out there, especially female characters, who get to be fat and not have it be the focus of their story?

The only one I can think of that comes close is Dumplin. And even in that movie, her weight isn't the primary conflict (it's not a weight loss story or anything like that), but her insecurity about it is still a source of tension that causes conflict between her and several other characters (Ellie, her mother, Bo).

I don't really know where I'm going with this. I like to think the body positivity and body neutrality movements have made a lot of progress since the heroin-chic days of the 90s and early 00s. But if it's still notable to me to see a midsize character in a major motion picture, maybe we haven't come as far as we think.

WIP Wednesday (1/3) | Arsonist Neil / Firefighter Andrew AU (Part 86)

Without another word, Aaron pulls out a DVD and heads for the TV stand. Andrew blinks. What… Did Aaron get a movie on the way over here? What the hell? Andrew curses himself. He should’ve done something. It’s their fucking birthday and Aaron is doing all the work. Funny isn’t it, how things change? It was the opposite for so long, Andrew trying his best to connect in a way that mattered and Aaron refusing to meet him halfway.

Andrew supposes it’s better late than never to attempt some sort of bonding. Only took Andrew’s hypothetical death to get the ball rolling. If he’d known that… Andrew shakes his head. Aaron did all of this because of the fire last night? Huh. It seems like Andrew’s got a certain arsonist to thank for this strange visit. How annoying.

“Are you coming or not?” Aaron asks as he flops onto the sofa. 

“Yeah.” Andrew hops down off his bar stool and goes to grab each of them a fresh bottle of beer. And… These are his last two. Damn. He passes one to Aaron as he goes to sit down and adds alcohol to his mental grocery list.

Once again watching dumplin' and watching Will stuggle with her self-destructive behaviors and pitting everyone against her because without Lucy she feels unworthy of love because of her body and poor relationship with her mother while also loved so fiercely by her best friends, and this guy that she views as unattainable(even though hes not!!! Hes very attainable!!) hits so hard its not even funny
