very funny when someone who tries to tell you porn addiction is real is already marked with shinigami eyes. like oh really? i never would have guessed a transphobe would buy multiple strains of fundamentalist christian propaganda. anyway

like i cannot stress enough that porn addiction is a fake thing made up by fundamentalists to make you demonize sex. it is not a real thing. you can have all manner of compulsions, sure, but a porn compulsion is no more harmful than a compulsion to doomscrolling or washing your hands or brushing your teeth. which is to say, it's not great to have a compulsion at all, but a compulsion to pornography is not uniquely concerning in and off itself.

research on this subject is very clear that porn and porn consumption itself is not the issue. what causes distress and shame is the culture surrounding porn and the way our society demonizes people for normal sexual feelings.

porn is morally neutral. you are not a bad person for enjoying porn. the real-life porn industry is a shitshow, but there are many ways to enjoy pornography that are entirely harmless. support your favorite independent porn producers.

yeah so in case ur wondering whats going on at the brazilian congress rn well they’re trying to qualify abortion as homicide. thing is abortion is already illegal here except in cases of rape, anencephalic fetuses or if the pregnancy presents a threat to one’s life; this essentially means that if the modification of the law goes through someone could get sentenced to up to 20 years for aborting a fetus whereas their rapist could maybe get 6 years.

idk if the internet is uniquely conducive of this but i hate the inability to like hold to certain moral stances even when it requires u to hold two things as true at once. for example you can hold true that support for political zionism is immoral and no one should engage with people who look a genocide in the eye and choose to defend it AND also idk just. not reach the point where ur making a list of 300 jewish names without going "maybe making a list of hundreds of jewish names to call for their exclusion from society like isn't cool just in general". even if all of them did do something bad you might have to simply figure out literally any other way to respond to that fact. we keep doing this over n over when someone from a minority group does something wrong & someone who only unlearned their bigotry towards that group by putting them on a weird pedestal is like phew so they were terrible all along. and then starts making a list

The biggest lie in American evangelical Christianity is how they tell their kids “if you grow up our way with our principles and do all these things, you will live a better more fulfilling life and be a better person than all those sinners.”

And then you grow up and the sinners are the ones with community and family and slightly more stable mental health, and then they start to teach you what it means to have your boundaries respected and be loved unconditionally.

I’ve subjected my coworkers to this before, but the way indoctrination works, especially into extreme high control religious groups and cults, fascinates me.

You’re not immune to it. No one is truly immune to it. Successful indoctrination, especially regarding cults, finds the smallest little insecurity and magnifies it. And to hold you in until you’re passed the point of easy escape, they keep you focused on that insecurity, and add new, seemingly connected insecurities, while simultaneously convincing you that they have the answers, they alone have the solution to your insecurities.

They set up and manipulate experiences and interactions with outsiders that deepen the belief that they alone understand, they alone love you and want the best for you. The outsiders are cruel and unsympathetic and why would you ever want to go into the greater outside world when it doesn’t have it’s best intentions for you at heart.

They manipulate and love bomb and overwhelm every argument and uncertainty you have until you think exactly as they want. And you will never be immune. Because everyone will have a low point, will be insecure, will be desperate for faith, will feel like an outsider no one understands or loves. Everyone is vulnerable, maybe not at all points in their life, maybe some less so than others, but everyone is. And claiming you can’t be manipulated or tricked by propaganda actually lowers your subconscious watch for it and makes you that much more susceptible.

Israel has cut water, electricity and food to Palestinians in Gaza. They are buying 10.000 M16 rifles and plan to distribute to civilian settlers in the West Bank to hunt down Palestinians. They're bombing the only way out of Gaza through Egypt, after telling refugees to flee through it, and have threatened the Egyptian government in case they let aid trucks pass through. Entire families, generations, are being wiped out and left to wander the streets hoping they don't get bombed.

Palestinians are using their last minutes of battery to let the world know about their genocide and are being met with a wall of "What about Hamas? What about the beheaded babies? Killing children on either side is bad!" even though the propaganda claims have been debunked over and over again. How cruel is it to ask somebody to condemn themselves before their last words? Or before grieving the loss of their entire families? When there's no such disclaimer to Israelis even though their government has shown over and over genocidal intent? Like who are you even trying to appease? What will your wishy washy statement do against decades of zionist thought infiltrating evangelical and Jewish stablishmemts?

Take action. Israel will fall back if public opinion turns its tide. The UK fell back on its bloody decision to cut aid to Palestine under public scrutiny. The USAmerican empire spends $3.8 billion dollars annually solely on this proxy war while its people suffer under a progressively military regime as well. News outlets are canceling last minute on Palestinian speakers while letting Israelis tell lies unchecked. Palestinian refugees are being targeted in ICE establishments and mosques are already being hounded by the FBI. France and Germany have banned pro-Palestine protests, while Netherlands and the UK have placed restrictions . You have the chance to stop this from turning into repeat of the Iraq war.

I want to do something but there's hardly anything for me to do from Brasil besides spreading the word and not letting these testimonies fall on deaf ears. I'm asking you to do this same ant work from wherever you are.
