but yeah, while i've got macnamara on the brain, in the pokémon au i wanna try and do that thing that i tried (and wholeheartedly failed) to do in hohf where emma and mac were Buddies in the past and mac mentored her for a hot second.

like, instead of staying strictly in guatemala after leaving hatchetfield, emma actually traveled A Lot of places bc she was on a gym badge quest. and at some point she met not-yet-a-general macnamara and they traveled together for a while. idk why this concept of em and mac being old friends appeals to me so much, but it does, and i'm taking you all with me.
