This is the final concert Queen would ever play in North America. The tour was ultimately not nearly as successful as previous outings. Four nights at the LA Forum had become two. In a 1999 interview with Mojo magazine Roger Taylor recalled, "I remember suddenly realising that we weren't packing them in quite as much as we used to."
According to this review, Staying Power was played on the last night.

Billy Squier, who has opened for Queen at every show on this tour, joins them in the encore during a one-off version of Jailhouse Rock, adding vocals. Saturday Night's Alright For Fighting is also played before Bohemian Rhapsody for the last night's sake.
A bit of video from this show exists. The band are seen going through the corridor to the stage to begin the concert, and Michael Jackson is with them (thanks to Julien Cohen for the link).
Currently, recordings commonly labelled as being from one or both of these Los Angeles dates are from one of the umpteen bootlegs of the Fukuoka '82 shows. Genuine audience tapes and even an 8mm film are rumoured to exist (most likely due to the historic nature of this show), but have never been confirmed.
The concert pictures, snapped by Robert Matheu, are from Phil Sutcliffe's excellent book, The Ultimate Illustrated History of the Crown Kings of Rock.

Reflecting on this tour, Squier had some kind things to say about Freddie Mercury. "He loved to perform. I think all the words about how great a performer he was have been used up. I just used to stand and watch him every night thinking, 'How do you do that? Just how do you get away with it?' It was the onstage Freddie that was most fearless. He believed in what he and the band were doing so much. He never projected the slightest fear or self-doubt and that just swept the audience along with him. He just knew that the show was going to work. He was made for the stage. His sense of theatricality was the key, and it was a key which so very few other rock performers have at their disposal."
About a week after this show, Brian May was interviewed for the January 1983 issue of Guitar Player magazine. Here are some excerpts:
"We used to do the song 'Son and Daughter' on stage, and the solo section in the middle of that became what was in 'Brighton Rock'. After 'Brighton Rock' was recorded, that solo evolved a lot more. One facet of it was the way it is on the live album, but it's changed a lot since then. Sometimes we've dropped it because I felt I got stale. I don't like to do exactly the same thing two nights running. That should be a time when you can do something different. Now we don't do "Brighton Rock" anymore, so it's gone full circle. In the beginning, the solo was there and the song was around it. And now the song's gone and the solo's there.
"It's just a delay machine set on one delay rather than a multiple, so it's not a sort of echo effect. It's one line coming back at you. I have two delay machines, so I can do three-part harmonies with that: I can play alone - maybe two or three notes - and then it comes back and I can play along with it. And then it comes back again and there are three parts. The delays are mostly about one and a half seconds. A lot of things can happen: You can play in synch with what comes back and make the harmonies, or you can play chords and then single notes on top to get a playing-in-rhythm effect. You can also do various kind of counterpoints. Sometimes they work. It all depends on whether I can hear myself well. If it's a good night and I can really hear well, I can do things that demand very close timing. On this tour I've been experimenting with steps which are not exactly on the beat: so when it comes back at you, they are in a different place each time. I found I could do all sorts of strange things with that, just making them mesh in a different way.
"I've thought it was obsolete many times. We've thrown it out. We haven't done it every night on this tour. But somehow it seems to creep back in there. It's weird. I did it for years, and nobody would talk about it. And then when I threw it out, people said, "Hey! How could you do that?" On this tour we did some special things with the lights. We had t hose pods which can fly about, and I used to do a little battle with those. That gave it a new lease on life. People would tend to notice that. As opposed to not saying anything, they would say, "I like the lights in the solo [laughs]." I've found that people seem to appreciate long solos more on this tour than they did before. I think a lot of people thought our material was veering too far away from the heavy side, and they thought the solo stuff redressed the balance to a certain extent.
"I didn't feel that this tour was making me very happy. I've often felt that in the studio, but that's the first time I felt it on tour. I didn't feel happy until the last concert. The last night in L.A. I felt quite cheered up. I was prepared to think, "Well, I don't really want to do this anymore." Somehow when it got to the last one, Freddie was really on form and giving a million precent, and I felt that it was going well. So the end of the tour finished on a good note for me. I felt like I did want to be out there doing it again sometime. But we are going to have a long rest." [Of course, after the six shows in Japan next month.]
Back in 1977 Brian was quoted saying, "We've always thought it was wrong to regard a tour purely as a promotional exercise, because some people have done that, and gone out and slogged away at the hits and the new album, and I don't think that makes for good touring." Maybe that's at least partly the reason why he didn't enjoy himself this time around.

Amanda Kloots, the widow of Broadway star Nick Cordero, is continuing to memorialize her husband on social media – this time sharing photos and videos from his phone after unlocking it for the first time since his death on Sunday.
On Tuesday, the fitness instructor uploaded a montage of heart-warming photos and amusing videos to her Instagram story that were captured by Cordero in the final months of his life. 
‘I just looked at Nick’s phone today [for the first time] and I’ll share some of the gems I found with you,’ Kloots told her 533,000 followers.
The slideshow of images she shared begins with a selfie of a smiling Cordero and his son, one-year-old Elvis, who is also beaming towards the camera.
Dated March 16, the image was taken just over two weeks before Cordero would be admitted to the intensive care unit at Los Angeles’ Cedars-Sinai Hospital amid his battle with coronavirus.

On Monday, Kloots thanked her followers for helping to make her husband’s dream of becoming a rock star a reality after joining her each day at 3pm during Cordero’s health battle to sing his original song, ‘Live Your Life’, in a bid to will him to recovery.
And in her posts Tuesday, Cordero’s love for song writing is made abundantly clear. 
In a succession of videos, the 41-year-old riffs the blues on an orange electric guitar, crooning ‘You only love me when I say goodbye. Only the heavens above me know the reasons why’, improvising as he plays.
Cordero, who starred as Sonny in A Bronx Tale, is also seen performing an acapella version of ‘One of the Great Ones’ from the Broadway smash-hit show in a birthday tribute to one of his friends.
In another musical video, the performer amusingly improvises a song as he stands on a New York sidewalk.
‘You can make a song about anything,’ Cordero sings, proceeding to list and rhyme the objects and sights he can see around him.
The actor even makes himself laugh on a number of occasions. In one instance, he attempts to incorporate his dog, Freddie, who he is holding, into the song but the pooch is being ‘camera shy’, he chuckles.

Another shows a family picnic in a California park from earlier this year, with Cordero sprawled out on a blanket next to Kloots, who has Elvis nestled into her shoulder.
Throughout his battle for life, Kloots maintained a constant presence on social media, updating her followers on his ailing health since his hospitalization in March, until tragically confirming his death Sunday.
And in the days since she has continued to share memories of the Broadway star in celebration of the time they spent together.
Kloots’ Instagram story was preceded by a video montage she uploaded to her page earlier Tuesday, chronicling her five-year relationship with the Broadway star.
The video, compiled by Kloots’ sister Anna, features a variety of photos from 2015 to 2020.
‘Another video from [Anna Kloots] documenting Nick and I from day 1 till now,’ Kloots wrote on Instagram. ‘Nick always said we were completely different people that normally would never be together. We challenged each other and in doing so caused each other to grow and change.’
The montage, focusing on the years before Cordero’s sickness, is full of videos of the pair dancing together, enjoying date nights, vacations, Broadway shows, and even includes celebrity cameos from the likes of Zach Braff, whom he and Kloots starred alongside in Bullets and Broadway.

Kloots and baby Elvis feature in a number of the photos and videos. In one clip (right), baby Elvis is heard chuckling as his mom sings ‘Jump Around’ to him, as  Nick watches on, just days before being hospitalized
It also includes sweet photos of the couple enjoying their engagement, wedding and caring for Elvis.
 Kloots and Cordero began dating shortly after meeting one another while appearing in Bullets on Broadway. They became engaged in March 2017 and married in September the same year.
‘We pushed each other’s buttons in the best of ways,’ Kloots wrote. ‘He would always look at me and say, “I’m the luckiest.” Well darling, I was the luckiest to get to spend five years with you and to share a son that will always remind me of you.’
Kloots took to Instagram live Monday to perform a heart-breaking rendition of Cordero’s original song, Live Your Life’, for a final time.
As part of Monday’s broadcast, she also thanked her followers for their support during Cordero’s months-long hospitalization, crediting them for helping to make his ultimate dream of becoming a rock star a reality.
‘We played this song a lot yesterday in Nick’s room with him and we were singing to him and I kept telling him that he had the whole world singing his song and knowing who he was and what kind of an amazing person he was,’ a tearful Kloots said, wiping away tears beneath her sunglasses.
‘I just wanted him to know that his dream of becoming a rock star happened. And sometimes your dreams happen and you don’t get to fully embrace them, but Nick’s dream of becoming a rock star definitely happened and it was because of you guys.’

She added that the daily tradition ‘always’ provided her with a sense of comfort too, helping her through her darkest of times.
‘There were days when I did not think I could get on social media and sing but I always felt better after I did. … It always made me feel better. Singing and dancing is an amazing way to have some therapy in your life,’ she said.
Less than 24 hours earlier, Kloots announced the tragic passing of Cordero on Instagram.
In her emotional statement, she said she was still in a state of ‘disbelief’ and called Cordero a bright light who she couldn’t believe who no longer be in her or Elvis’ life.
‘Life throws so many things at you,’ Kloots reflected Monday. ‘It could be this awful virus like Nick had, you could lose your job, you could fight with a family member … all these things in your life that could give you hell. … Keep fighting, keep singing, keep dancing, keep living.
‘Thank you so much for all your support. I really, really, really appreciate it,’ Kloots concluded, struggling to hold back tears.
‘Nick left this earth with people around him that he loved, listening to music. I don’t think he would have wanted anything else, so I think we gave him a good send-off. I’ll miss him every day of my life, that’s for sure.’

Somos varias generaciones que hemos disfrutado de las inmejorables producciones de televisión nacional de este canal: Buenaventura, Caras Vemos, La Pensión, El Show de la Media Docena; entre otras que cada noche de viernes nos sacaba carcajadas; para de esta manera liberar el estrés de la semana laboral.
Programas diversos como: Fantástico, las Estrellas se reúnen, Hola Juventud, Sábado Feliz, Buen Día, En Vivo, 7 Estrellas, Nace una Estrella, El Chinamo, Así es la Vida, 7 Días, Las Paredes Oyen, + que noticias, Planeta Azul; producciones tan buenas como bien elaboradas; que atrapaban a los televidentes; unos permanecen aún a pesar del tiempo y otros han desaparecido.
Teletica; es el REY de los formatos; entre los más destacados Dancing with the Stars, Bailando por un Sueño, Cantando por un Sueño, Tu Cara me Suena, Quien quiere ser Millonario, Cuidado con la Pared; entre otros; formatos que han enamorado al pueblo costarricense; al nivel de que se haya solicitado el cambio de horario de uno que otro para el disfrute del mismo en medio del entorno familiar.

Identidad de la Televisora en la actualidad
También; nos hizo soñar con su Recreo Grande; con la más que querida y recordada Tía Flory; quien siempre nos hacía creer en el cumplimiento de los sueños vestida de hada. En Recreo Grande aprendimos que aprender es igual a disfrutar y divertirse; que no tiene nada de malo estudiar y jugar; y con esa visión crecimos varias generaciones. Es de Recreo Grande donde salen figuras que siguen vigentes hasta el día de hoy; como es el caso de Rodrigo Villalobos.
De Teletica han salido personalidades periodísticas de alto rango: Freddy Serrano, Wendy Cruz, Lilliana Carranza, Glenda Umaña, Mishelle Mitchell, Edgar Silva, Adriana Durán, Ginnés Rodríguez, Gerardo Zamora; figuras respetadas y queridas por el costarricense y que se han desenvuelto de manera extraordinaria fuera de la televisión nacional.
Es si ninguna duda, la televisora que mayores inversiones ha hecho para traer al costarricense las mejores programaciones que gusten a toda la familia de manera integral; con programas en todos los formatos y géneros. Sesenta años de llenar los hogares de emociones.
A la familia Cozza – Picado y a todos los colaboradores: ¡Muchas Felicidades! Y por supuesto, que el Trencito siga por las vías del entretenimiento por muchísimos años más.
