dude it's absolutely bonkers when like. thai or korean actors/musicians take even the shortest of breaks from idol life and all their media in the interim they're like 4 shades darker
#obviously colorism means that naturally fairer people get more work too but like#genuinely it's bonkers how much people are clearly having maintaining a fair complexion managed#like obviously it's the same in india everyone is avoiding the sun and doing permanent skin lightening and and and etc etc etc#I think people just tend to forget that like. south/south east asians generally aren't as fair as they're represented#and paying attention to how that is very much deliberately curated and enforced is kinda whack
