GEE ANON I’M SO GLAD YOU ASKED! so i actually have waaaaay too many baccano! muses to talk about all of them so i have selected five baccanos to talk about and then if you’re really interested feel free to ask about MORE of them.

maria barcelito: an absolute icon. she’s a mexican assassin who wields her grandfather’s katanas and has an incredible fixation on slashing things up. she believes that she can cut through anything if she’s strong enough. she’s also VERY hyperactive and impulsive and definitely has ADHD. she gets bored pretty easily and tends to go completely overboard when she hasn’t had something to do in a while (i.e. destroying like half a fucking casino while apprehending one guy). she’s also one of the stronger characters in baccano!; i believe claire has commented on how she has the potential to be a lot stronger than she is now. she also gets really discouraged when she gets beat by someone who she perceives as “weaker than her”. overall rating: 10/10 because she’s my favorite and an absolute angel and i just love her.

jacuzzi splot: a crybaby and a gang leader, jacuzzi is a pretty complicated kid who, despite appearing pretty weak and emotionally fragile, is Not someone to be messed with. it’s true that a lot of really little things make him cry, and he gets scared at pretty much everything that could potentially be even a little bit frightening, but he’s absolutely not a pushover and will fight tooth and nail for his gang and for what he believes is right. he tries to give people second chances if he thinks they deserve them, though, even if they’ve done some pretty terrible things. basically he’s just out here doing his best and accidentally has a bunch of people who are willing to do anything for him because he’s just got that vibe where people just automatically want to give him the world. also he got his sword tattoo because his (girl)friend nice holystone was almost completely blinded in a bomb-related accident and he wanted to make sure she could always recognize him no matter what. overall rating: also 10/10 he deserves the world and i would give it to him right now if i could.

ronny schiatto: a demon who somehow manages to be dramatic, cryptic, and unassuming at the same time. he’s actually a homunculus who can basically do anything and everything except see or travel forward or backward in time. he was actually created in a jar in ancient egypt and USED to be able to see into the past and future, but gave that up in order to experience the world himself. he can be summoned through a ritual but he also just exists in the room when someone thinks about him. because he kind of just likes to see what happens when he does things, he’s perfectly willing to give anyone who summons him a wish (which is usually the grand panacea/the liquor of immortality). ronny actually writes the rules of immortality himself and can change them in a heartbeat! he has a bunch of other fun abilities too but basically he’s tied for most powerful baccano! character. also he gets unreasonably upset when people he’s met before don’t recognize him. overall rating: 8/10 because his presence as a muse is very cryptic and foreboding half the time and i hate his sense of humor.

sonja bake: she likes guns! she grew up in a very crazy household with parents who were very crazy about guns. in fact, they took her out of school so she would have more time to shoot guns and presumably had her shoot their bodies on multiple occasions. this influenced her a lot, along with one other figure from her childhood: her best friend nader, who would always say he wanted to be a hero when he grew up. even now, years down the line, sonja believes wholeheartedly in his dream. currently, she’s part of a trio of thief girls known as the vanishing bunny, and acts as sort of the peacemaker of the group. she’s very oblivious and bubbly and is generally used as the “threat” when the girls are committing robberies because of her guns. when the girls manage to get out of unsafe situations, she always thinks it’s because nader was there to save them. despite her thinking nader can save her for anything, she wants to be stronger by herself too so that she can make nader proud when she sees him again! also she reminds me of that 1 text post that’s like “i have perfect aim you just don’t know what i’m aiming at”. overall rating: 11/10 she’s so baby.

huey laforet: BAD DAD BAD DAD BAD DAD. he’s a researcher who was born in the late 1600′s and moved to italy as a child after his mom was drowned because of witch hunts and all that jazz. he’s very indifferent to most people and views them as means to an end, with the exception of two people: elmer c. albatross and monica campanella. his relationship with monica is essentially what motivates him to do what he does; he says everything is for the purpose of research and it’s his job as a researcher to see what happens in any given situation, but actually he kind of wants a way to see monica again (because, you know, she’s dead). he has two daughters named leeza and chane and boy are they fucked up entirely because of him! he manipulated chane into wholeheartedly wanting to give her voice up for the sake of protecting his secret and leeza’s consciousness isn’t actually that of “leeza laforet” at all but don’t worry about it. anyway he is the kind of person who manipulates people into doing and thinking certain things so he can get his way. overall rating: -5/10 i hate him so much.
