yuuji didn’t know that you were coming along too so of course when he sees sukuna walking out of the building they stopped by with you, he rushes out of the car to greet you! you’re just as joyful as him as you hug him and place a gentle kiss on his cheek, making him smile widely. his uncle watches the scene silently, with adoration brimming in his eyez, coming to his senses a second later to bark at both of you to get in the car.

throughout the ride yuuji entertains you with various short stories including jin and some of little friends from the neighbourhood, which you intently listen to, completely ignoring sukuna’s huffing and puffing since you exchanged your usual spot at the passenger’s seat with yuuji’s on the backseat.

when you arrive at the zoo, yuuji tugs you out and just runs inside while sukuna parks the car. at that, he rolls his eyes and intentionally slows down his pace just to rile up itadori, who swings your hands around just to do something and puffs his cheeks at his uncle’s annoying tendencies.

yuuji is in so much awe when the three of you finally enter!! hands over his cheeks as he inhales sharply before running off to the first animal he sets his big eyes on; loudly calling you and sukuna to come see whilst sukuna takes the opportunity to hold your hand instead and lazily walk you both over to his nephew.

when it gets too crowded, sukuna sees the impatience on yuuji’s face, who tries to jump as high as he can to see the next animal, and lifts him to place him on his shoulders. of course, he’s cranky about it too, complaining about how heavy yuuji is and threatening to throw him down into the one of the exhibits, but in reality, hearing yuuji’s joyful laughter is one of his favourite things in the world so he lets him hang up there until the end.

you manage to capture that sweet moment in a picture: sukuna’s eyes looking up at his nephew, a small smile on his lips paired with a soft expression, while yuuji is holding up a piece sign and beaming brighter than the sun itself.

when you’re with yuuji it seems that sometimes you and the little guy share the same braincell which means that you’re no better than him when it comes to cute animals. cooing and awing at them along with the pink-haired boy, running around with him with no care for the world and being excited just like a little kid. sukuna gets all warm inside when he sees you two laughing together, his eyes projecting a pretty neat future onto the scene.

it’s just a very very nice day, y’know? very fulfilling and very peaceful.

I'm so massively proud of Forte!

He handled the Ren Faire really well, despite it being a far more chaotic environment than he usually works in. We spent the first twenty minutes just getting comfortable and I had him do a practice run of find my car.

We passed another team on the trail up to the entrance, both dogs looked at each and then moved on. I know there were handful of other teams there as well but didn't notice them.

Also had a little kid full on grab Forte's rear and all he did was sit down and look at me. Parent apologized and picked up the kid so I didn't say anything.

Inside the faire he did get startled by the big swinging dragon ride but immediately recovered. Other than that, nothing bothered him. Not the banging from some hammer game, crowds cheering, or the many many people who talked to him. He navigated through the crowds nicely with only the occasional verbal reminder to stay close. I normally don't mind if he walks with his shoulders ahead of me but it was too busy for that.

I had hoped the rain would make it a little less crowded but alas, my fellow nerds were out in full force if the costume to street clothes ratio was any indication. On the upside, it was fun to see so many awesome get ups.

I'm proud of both of us for not getting bothered by near constant attention. If I got a dollar for every direwolf comment, it would have paid for my ticket lol. A few staff politely asked about his breed, which I don't mind at all.

My favorite comment was from someone who saw the front of his harness and said "In training hero in time, that's cute" and then saw his vest and very excitedly turned to their friend and exclaimed "oh that's so clever, hero in time because Zelda!" If I were less awkward, I'd have stopped to talk to them because they are clearly my kind of people.

Forte did his head in my lap/body pressed against my legs substitute for DPT after alerting and I found a bench to sit on. It helped but wasn't as good as the real thing but at that point he was pretty muddy and I didn't want him in my lap. (Sorry buddy)

I browsed a few shops but didn't go to any shows because this was more for training purposes than actually attending for fun. Next time we go though I plan to at least catch the Washing Women show because it's my favorite.

After a bit over two hours the rain picked up and I could feel my brain getting static-y. So I picked up his pull strap and gave him the forward cue as I attempted to navigated us to the exit. He did such an amazing job with fmp despite moving against the main flow of the crowd. And once we exited the faire I told him to find the car.

Y'all this is where Forte impressed me the most. He led me through the preferred parking lot, through the trail in the woods, and successfully found my car in the giant field/general parking area.

He exceeded my expectations and I'm so proud of him. He really is my knight in fluffy armor.

At the beginning when the guys are just getting to know each other, Mike and Davy get into a fight (something silly and easily avoidable, but they don’t really know each other yet and they’re suddenly living in very close quarters, tensions are high). Mike notices this and is kinda like ‘oh shit’ and immediately calms down and is trying to apologise but it’s too late and Davy’s in tears. Mike has to comfort him and soothe him and from then on the rest is history.
