MAN I think putting Mishio into his mafia bsd verse without changing his timeline is a little fucky and it's stressing me out.
Mishio's default timeline has him being taken in by his mentor at 12, and beginning to get into doing work with him at 15 which is already ten years into his past. Translating that into BSD would put him at doing work for the Port Mafia while the previous boss was in charge. If I have the BSD timeline right, He would be 17 when Mori takes over.
He's not IN the mafia, he and his mentor are just affiliated with them. Supplying organs and drugs and such. So it's not as if he would really know many people in the mafia, and certainly not the bosses. Just people he would meet up with or talk to about business or doing exchanges. He probably keeps himself distanced from all that drama as much as he can, not really caring. BUT the idea of him being affiliated with them for 10 years is stressing me out for no other reason than inserting my OC's into canon that deep makes me anxious (he is 25 in current times).

SHITTY AUs ABSOLUTELY NO ONE ASKED FOR
DC Verse - What We Make, We Make For Ourselves
They grew up fast and they grew up young; trapped in a home with no allies, in a town with no promise. When their parents died it seemed like life would never change for the Barton boys. Yet the night Haly’s came to town, everything changed.
Growing up in the circus circuit, Barney and Clint worked as roustabouts for a year or two until after the accident with the Flying Graysons. A new act was introduced shortly after in the form of a swordsman/trick archery duo, Jacques and Buck. The two took an immediate interest in the Barton brothers. While Clint was taught the finer parts of the actual act, Barney found himself drawn more into Jacques and Buck’s side hustle: racketeering. As the brothers were pulled apart, the two began to find themselves fighting more and more often as competing interests began to rise.
Realizing what life held if he didn’t leave, Barney wanted more, whether Clint was involved or not. When he was 18, Barney signed up and left to join the Army, leaving Haly’s behind for good. While Clint and Barney exchanged occasional texts, the two fell out of contact after Barney’s first deployment. Barney, unable to find him again, has yet to reconnect to his brother...
Barney served and served well in the army for 12 years, obtaining the rank of staff sergeant and also becoming a member of the Army Special Forces. Deployed countless times, Barney found that each mission seemed to get darker and darker. No matter how good he was at his role, the world seemed to be changing and each threat grew more and more monstrous. As super heroes became more prominent and powerful so did the threats. And Barney found himself beginning to grow disillusioned with how much of a difference he could truly do with where he was, particularly as his division seemed to draw the attention of more than one corrupt official over and over and over...
After a particularly rough mission, Barney found himself with a new option on the table. Barney’s record and history with Jacques and Buck had caught the eye of the FBI. Currently working on taking down the crime ring Barney’s two former mentors had been part of, the FBI made an offer: recruitment into their fold. With a building case of PTSD and disillusionment in the military’s effectiveness, Barney finally agreed to retire to take a position within the FBI.
Currently, Barney is back stateside living on his own and finally, finally getting to use his G.I. Bill to go to college. He has every intent on finishing his degree and working with the FBI full time until he decides what to do next. While not a full agent with the FBI, he is in good standing and is backed by the FBI as an agent-in-training.
Currently, his cases involve hunting and busting crime rings in Bludhaven, Gotham, Metropolis, NYC, and the rest of the East Coast. You will often find him in one of those areas working, or will find him in Metropolis attending classes both online and in person at the community college there.
IMPORTANT NOTES
This verse was made mostly with @asterbatics! It can be adjusted to fit other’s canon, however, and can be altered entirely to eliminate the connection to Dick Grayson / Nightwing. For the most part, Barney and Clint’s backstory stays the same.
Please note, Barney is 32 years old in this verse, which is much younger than he normally is. Why is that? Because Barney is just starting his FBI career here and has yet to meet the accident that kills him...
Do I have this whole idea of Barney coming across some elaborate conspiracy, getting killed, then kept alive as an experiment or something of some sort? Yes! Does that mean you have to take part in it? Not at all.
One thing’s for sure. Barney has a date with destiny. How he comes back to life? Well, that’s for him to find out (and for us to plot).
BONUS
BONUS: Barney is exceptionally proud of his military service, despite his own jaded attitude toward the larger military complex, and meets up with friends regularly to visit and chat. While most of his missions are classified, and many of them left deep scars in him, Barney credits most of his survival skills to his Green Beret training.
EXTRA BONUS: A quiet soul, Barney often takes classes in the community in different self-defense or martial arts. He isn’t good at all of them; a few old injuries make flexibility not particularly his strong point. But he enjoys the challenge and will often try just about anything once.
EXTRA EXTRA BONUS: Barney has had a truly awful relationship with almost every male role model in his life. He tends to come off as cocky and a bit arrogant to those he meets initially, particularly those male presenting. Rest assured, most of it is an act. Though he will not stand for people boasting they can out shoot him. Most of the time, they cannot. (With a few exceptions of course!)
EXTRA EXTRA EXTRA BONUS: Yes, Barney has a favorite superhero. (Hint: he’s named after a Greek God.) No, he probably won’t tell it to you and Clint has been threatened with painful death if he ever revealed it. But yes, Barney absolutely had a poster of him when he was young...
