thinking abt the horrors of immortality btw. if u even care
#opal.txt#specifically from the pov of someone who is not#your best friend is the sweetest person in the world and defends you even though you're offputting#you're both trying to be the best warriors you can be not even realizing the maw you're walking willingly into#you're always exemplary#and then one day during training that goes awry you accidentally kill him. but he doesn't die#he gets back up again#it makes no sense he's aging just like everyone else. but no matter how badly the enemy harms him he will not stay dead#everyone sings his praises but you watch as he is sent on more and more ridiculous solo missions#smashing himself to paste against the rocks all for the people of the village who HATE him for being a beast#he keeps dying but he's not mortal. and you are you're so very fragile and you're getting worry lines where his face is smooth#he's splintering and fracturing but he can't End ever and his eyes are so tired#you are mortal and limited and you WILL abandon him whether you like it or not thanks to the march of time#so you make the only choice you can - to try to make yourself into a shadow of what he is. just enough to stay by him#you will make yourself into a monster just to hold his hand again#yes this is about one of my naruto ocs how could you tell
