I hate how unknown hematogen is outside Eastern Europe. It's a toffee/chocolate bar with actual blood in it. Meant for children (and enjoyed by adults as well) with low iron levels. It's a perfect halloween candy. Such a missed opportunity since eastern europe isn't big on halloween and west would freak out about blood candy from commie lands.

Hematogen is a sweet nutrition bar used to treat anaemic children. It was originally created in Switzerland and doesn't taste like raw blood at all. More like milky vanilla with a sugary iron aftertaste

Haha yes! It's not technically chocolate and it has more sugar than blood, but we do have it. It's very popular and you can get it in every farmacy. I sometimes buy it for a sweet snack.
