favourite line in les mis ?

oh goodness okay so i know the musical more than i know the brick but i’ll try

the musical

i fucking LOVE the part during epilogue right after “to love another person is to see the face of god” (thats a good line too ngl) where the ensemble comes in behind eponine, fantine, jvj, cosette and marius but thats more musical than lyrical lol

“even the darkest night will end and the sun will rise” very tattoo-able line there 👀

“rain will make the flowers grow” im not sure if its meant this way in context of the song but to me it sounds along the lines of like, good things will always happen even if you’re in bad times right now (in fact i have it in a mural on my bedroom wall!)

again, more of a musical thing than lyrical, but the musical parallels between jvj’s What Have I Done and javert’s s-icide make me go hnnnhhhh they are symbolically Nice

similarly, the lines right before permets-tu when grantaire is waking up are just really pretty in my translation, tho the gay is very lacking (’shook his hand’ my ass)
