rereading all the Book of Jod chapters in order and can i just say this might be the most upsetting thing ever committed to paper
#it's awful it's so awful because it is so PLAUSIBLE#like YES this is how the people who run the world would be AND ARE reacting to this crisis#and everything goes wrong in a way that is so deeply believable#honestly jod's retelling of events could be an isolated short story and pack just as effective of a punch with minimal editing if that#hearing it out of his mouth is utterly entrancing#john had the best intentions confirmed. jod was scared and angry and had his back against the wall confirmed.#jod ALSO vindictive and angry confirmed. jod became entirely too comfortable holding the power of death and life in his palm confirmed#i cannot save them all so i will destroy them all and I will pick who comes back and I will get my revenge on the people who left me behind#you've wronged me so i will literally eat the souls of the planets JUST to keep you from escaping me#AND HE FAILED!
