idk how harem series are supposed to go, but I don't think the right play after stringing along your fans over the last decade is to make a sidestory about your protag getting together with one of the fan-popular girls and then shitting all over their relationship (along with every other ship indirectly) because the entire setting will blow up if the protag isn't simping for One Specific Girl
