There’s a lot I don’t miss about keeping gerbils. But oh my god, when you hold them and kiss one of their lil ears and it feels like a flower petal. I keep thinking about it I’m gonna cry. :’0

#gerbils #i don't miss the daily spot clean and the massive pile of STUFF they needed to live #and the worry about vet visits post my great vet's sad passing #which is how i had to find out every vet in the city stopped treating gerbils apparently!#but oh my god the little ears....they fold down when you kiss them and go crinkly #and i miss the little happy dance where they patter their paws and swish their tail and i never figured out why they did this #or the frantic alarm drumming for NO REASON but who even knows whats going on in their brain lol #probably they heard something really scary that i couldn't possibly understand #i love them and i miss them
