NOTES: "Japanese" "Italian" 'Thinking' 'Tsuna's eye speak' [Messages]
DISCLAIMER: I do not own Katekyo Hitman Reborn. Amano Akira does. I just own this story.
Hayato, soon, realized that while Tsuna could talk, the smaller teen simply preferred to not talk unless it is necessary (when is it necessary anyways? He doesn't talks when he gets bullied and such?!). For others, this would infuriate them and take it as a sign for disrespect. But Hayato was okay with it. In fact he somehow could understand his friend/boss even without words.
After all, for somebody who didn't speak much, Tsuna could convey a lot, merely through his body language and eyes. Hayato also noticed Tsuna would often not scratch that, always, go to the roof for lunch. He said that he liked high places and loved the sky for some reason. That was not all though, Tsuna would act confident and like himself in front of him but in front of others, especially Ienari... he would revert back to that no-good side of his.
Another thing that Hayato had noticed was the amount of stupid bastards that came after Tsuna. They tried to hurt, take his belongings and food for no reason at all, especially his brother. Tsuna didn't like to use violence so he pretends to be weak even though Hayato knows that Tsuna isn't. After all, if you are training with Hibari and winning then you can't be weak.
So instead of Tsuna teaching them a lesson. Hayato did. It didn't take that long for him to convince them that this was a very bad idea. Hayato had to restrict himself by not blowing up the bullies into smithereens since Tsuna will be really mad and Hayato doesn't wants that. Nope, he doesn't. If this voice in his head says so and how he planned that lesson for Ienari without said person knowing... Yup, he doesn't wants to feel his wrath.
At the moment, Hayato was heading over the Sawada household because Tsuna had invited him for lunch and dinner.  Not being able to refuse those puppy dog eyes, he conceded. The only problem was that bastard of the clone there.
Fortunately, when Hayato rang the doorbell, Tsuna and Reborn on top of his head, opened the door.
Tsuna smiled at him and waved him in. Gokudera scrunched his eyebrows. If Tsuna wasn't talking... then that means that bastard of a copy is here.
"Back again?" Ienari sneered, appearing from behind. "I already told you, I'm not going to accept a trash like you. So leave!"
Hayato snorted, "I'm not here for you, clone. I'm here for Tsuna-sama." It was very hard for Gokudera to hold himself back without blasting the arrogant teen. After all, he didn't want to make Tsuna mad. At all. (Seeing Tsuna fighting with Hibari and winning? Yup, no way. Even Reborn was clearly surprised. Not that he could see it but still...)
However, he was deeply amused with the clone's reaction. Openly gaping at him. "'Tsuna-sama?' Hah, you actually decided to follow Dame-Tsuna?!"
Hayato twitched and was about to reach for his dynamites when he caught sight of Tsuna shaking his head in disappointment.
A bullet resounded through the room and it had barely missed Ienari. "Oi, Dame-Nari, are you done your homework I gave you? You do remember you need to get above 85%"
Ienari paled at that and ran away. Tsuna laughed at that softly.
"Hmm, this is the first time I've heard you make a sound, Dame-Tsuna," Reborn commented from top of his head.
Tsuna gave the hitman an unbelievable look. "Do you mean to say you did not hear a thing between Gokudera-kun and I a few days ago? Or did you not hear the sound I made this morning as you came barging in while firing unnecessary shots?" asked the brunet in his melodious voice.
Reborn smirked. "Wait, what do you mean by  'came barging in while firing unnecessary shots?'" asked Gokudera startled.
"Well, this morning..." started the brunet.

At 4 in the morning, Reborn burst into the room and started firing. With not reason whatsoever, he shot bullets near the brunet.
He was satisfied as he watched the brunet awoke with a start and let out a yelp. For Reborn, this was a step forward. After all, a sound is better than not talking at all. After hearing the brunet speak to Gokudera, Reborn had decided to double his efforts in making the brunet speak.
Though, it wasn't working as much since he was near Ienari most of the times. Reborn noticed it too; Tsuna would clam up whenever Ienari was nearby. But when alone, he would actually hum or reply with sounds.
Tsuna with bleary eyes, looked at Reborn clearly asking, 'Why did you wake me up? I still have an hour left.'
This is what annoyed Reborn the most. The way his indifference was to the assorted weapons he used to make him talk. It was like he was used to it! Was his previous life filled with these kind of things?! (you have no idea how correct you are, Reborn)

Gokudera looked at Reborn and Tsuna back and forth. He himself had decided to get Tsuna to speak more and smile more often too. After all, Tsuna's smile were far too precious to be lost.
"Gokudera-kun?" the voice snapped Gokudera out of his thoughts.
"Nandemonai, Tsuna-sama. What should we do now?" he asked. Instead of replying, Tsuna just went and got out a game controller. It seemed that his boss had used up his quota of words for the hour.

[The next day - in school]
Tsuna was stuck cleaning up after gym class again. In gym, his team had lost (unsurprisingly) and had asked him and his brothers to clean up. Lately, his brother was building up in his frustrations and hadn't released it yet. And Gokudera was busy too...
"Hey guys! Mind if I help?!" Yamamoto Takeshi, his previous ex-guardian and the school's baseball star, asked. He smiled and nodded while his brother scowled.
'Ah that's right, he wants more popularity... this won't end well.'
They worked for a while, when Yamamoto asked his brother, "Hey Ienari?"
"What?" clearly irritated
"Well, you see, no matter how much I practice, my average has been dropping and no matter what I do, I can't seem to get out of it. What do you think I should do?"
"Easy, if you can't do anything right, just die." His brother said, leaving the two alone. Tsuna clutched on the broom he was holding while Yamamoto had lost his smile and was looking downwards.
He didn't look upwards until he heard a snap. Looking up, he saw the older twin's face shadowed by his bangs and was holding a snapped broom.
"...Uhh Sawada?" Yamamoto asked uncertainly. He could certainly feel KI coming from him right now. But he didn't know why...
"Don't you dare... listen to his advice otherwise I'll make you suffer," the brunet said icily. Yamamoto was surprised. He was always wondering why the brunet never spoke much and up until now, he didn't have the courage to go up to him.
"Eh?" he asked clearly surprised. He felt the KI radiating from the older twin recede. He then looked at Yamamoto and gave him a soft, concerned look. The words were stuck in Yamamoto. After all, who could convey a lot with just an expression. 'Are you okay?' he swore he could hear the brunet speak but he hadn't moved him mouth at all.
"I'm fine. I'll just practice more," he said laughing off his surprise.
"Don't," he heard the brunet talk, "Don't listen to him. He has no right to say that. Don't waste your life."
He could see the brunet trembling and the way his expression had melted into a very concerned expression. "It's fine. I'll just put more effort into it."
"Not too much... otherwise you will break..." he heard the brunet mumble.
XX..XX
Tsuna felt sick, listening to what his brother said. But more than sickness, he felt true anger. How could he just say someone to die that easily?! Yamamoto was already in a fragile state and his brother had to... Ugh?!
Throughout the way going home, he couldn't stop the feeling that something bad was going to happen. This time, it might be worse than what happened in the parallel world.
And he was very right. The next day in class, someone rushed in class and screamed, "YAMAMOTO IS GOING T JUMP FROM THE ROOF!"
Half the class ran away while Gokudera looked at Tsuna in worry, who's expression had become unreadable.
Running towards the roof, Tsuna muttered strings of curses under his breath. 'Why did Ienari do this?!'
Reaching the roof, he heard people yelling, "Don't jump, Yamamoto!"
"Yeah, Yamamoto. Talk to us!"
People yelled in the crowds however no-one wanted to get close. He laughed mirthfully inside. From the corner of his eyes, he could see his brother watching in amusement. He could feel his anger rising again.
"Sorry guys, the baseball gods have forsaken me. I have no need to live anymore," the heartbroken voice of his ex-rain guardian pierced through his anger. Without thinking much, he went towards the baseball player, crossing the imaginary line that people had drawn.
"Yamamoto-kun, stop," he said. The said person's back stiffened. He didn't speak loud enough for everyone to hear but enough for Yamamoto to hear.
"Tsuna, are you thinking of stopping me again..?" he asked uncertainly as he saw the brunet walk over towards him and stood next to him. "I'm sorry for what my brother has said but like I told you before, you don't need to waste you life."
"Why are you sorry? It was his fault," the baseball player snorted.
"Are you sure about leaving your father behind?" Yamamoto stiffened more and widened his eyes. "Also, Yamamoto-kun," Tsuna said, gaining the player's attention, "If you jump, I'll jump with you and then curse you in the afterlife." He said seriously.
He gasped when he heard those words. Abruptly, he turned back and climbed over the fence. He wasn't going to jump today, not when it would kill another person. "And if you try this again next time... I'll jump along with you. And I'll make you aware of who you killed along with yourself" His eyes widened more if possible. No, he wasn't going to jump ever. No, he didn't want to be reminded of this.
Tsuna sighed and almost collapsed. If it wasn't for Gokudera hoisting him upwards, "Great job, Boss."
Now that the danger had passed, everyone who had been silent when Tsuna crossed over to Yamamoto, erupted into conversation again. Surrounding Yamamoto as they confessed their relief and asked what was wrong with him.
While, this happened, Gokudera took his boss away from the crowd and inside the building. Tsuna did not fail to notice the look of disgust and disapproval on Ienari's face.
While Gokudera lead him backwards, Tsuna could only feel anger and sadness. His brother had driven Yamamoto to think about suicide and he was happy about it?!
"Boss, it's not your fault," Gokudera said while squeezing the brunet's hand. Hearing nor seeing no form of reply got the bomber worried. "Tsuna-sama, please talk to me," he pleaded.
Tsuna felt sick, "...Ienari... drove Yamamoto to suicide... It was my fault... for not stopping him when I co-"
He was enveloped in a hug from Gokudera. Normally, Gokudera wouldn't do such disrespectful things to his boss, but right now he needed it. He always knew that his boss would blame himself for anything wrong his brother did. It has always been like this for as long he could remember.
"It's not your fault, Tsuna. It's his and the baseball player's fault. Your brother's for saying something like that and the player's for listening to it. So, don't blame yourself for something that you haven't done. Really, I hate this habit of yours. Always like this even with that melon-head," Gokudera said the last part subconsciously. Tsuna's eyes widened. He was right, they were getting flashbacks of their parallel self memories. Even Yamamoto when he said, 'are you thinking of stopping me again?'
Tsuna, shaking of his shock, nodded. When Gokudera did let go, he nodded profusely and banged his head repeatedly while asking for forgiveness. Tsuna chuckled feeling nostalgic at his storm's behavior.
