Ova II - Time Travel
Haha, jokes on Barbatos, those three are still going for this time travel. He needs a raise, man, poor Barb.
Barbatos: Okay, one rule, don't meet yourselves, especially interacting with them.
Solomon: Got it!
With that, Barbatos moves them to the past where Simeon was not close with Haruka and still dating Satan. Of course, as we can see, they have a pretty beautiful relationship if we put aside Satan's anger. Now....to put the past selves to sleep.
Barbatos: [sigh and did what he can to cause the past selves to sleep]
Solomon: What about the body?
Barbatos: I'll handle it! Go!
The three humans go in different directions. Solomon enters the purgatory hall since that's where he's supposed to be. While Haruka and Ichigo go to the house of lamentation. On their way, unfortunately, they met a particular tall demon.
Ichigo, internally: Sht-
Beel: Oh, you're home already! Luke is looking for you.
Ichigo: Oh really? Where is he?
Beel: Well, he did go to our house, and he dropped these [shows a basket]
Ichigo: Oh! More desserts, alright then. You can have them if you want :D
Beel: Are you sure?
Ichigo: Yep, I'm still a little busy now, but I'm sure to join you!
Beel: oh..okay then :D
With that, Haruka and Ichigo finally escaped Beel. Now onto the mission. This was days before the exam where Ichigo, Haruka, Satan, and Solomon are supposed to be in the library taking books, and that's the exact moment Simeon keeps on texting Haruka to come to purgatory hall. So here they are, doing exactly what happened in that time frame, but this time Haruka shuts down her phone so Simeon won't be able to reach her.
Ichigo, internally: Good choice
Haruka: Right? This way, Simeon won't be able to contact me, and Satan wouldn't be annoyed.
Solomon: That's smart
Satan confusedly stares at these three humans in real life because they suddenly blanked out in the middle of the library.
Satan: Are you guys okay?
Ichigo: Yeah, yeah, we're fine!
Satan: Alright. Haruka, come this way [drags Haruka away by her hand]
Haruka: Eh? Why?
Satan: The history section is this way. Those are magical books. They're for Ichigo and Solomon.
Haruka: Ah... Alright^^
As Haruka gets dragged, she can hear Solomon and Ichigo cackling in her head.
Solomon: Okay, now imagine that but Simeon-
Ichigo: nooo [cackling hard]
Solomon: I think we'll see the day Simeon dragging her around like that.
Ichigo: It'd be too funny-
Haruka: Can yall stop;-;
Ichigo and Solomon: [still cackling]
Ichigo: Okay, I think we gotta stop. The librarian is staring at us
Solomon: Oh yea-
The two finally get out of the telepathic chatroom, leaving Haruka alone. In the history session of the library, Satan is, of course, collecting books for her and putting them into a trolley.
Haruka: That's a lot of books...
Satan: Oh, don't worry, you're only getting around 10% of those. The others are for me to read^^
Haruka: I see... [sweat drops]
After collecting the books, Haruka also finds some books exciting, but she can't reach them because of her height. She keeps jumping, trying to get that until she finds Satan behind her and goes for the book.
Satan: Here you go^^
Haruka: Thanks.... [realizes they're close] Uhm-
Haruka's heart is beating quite fast while the man behind her? He looks as smug as ever.
Satan: Well then, indeed. Didn't know you'd press back against me-
Haruka: What- no! No, I didn't! Can we just get a seat? Please?
Satan: Sure^^. Didn't know I'd seen you as red as a tomato. Adorable- [walks away like nothing happened]
Somewhere Solomon and Ichigo are cackling again. This is one hell of a funny time travel. Of course, they'll probably get punished by Barbatos for not doing the mission, but it's hilarious-
Haruka: Just shut up!
Ichigo: It's too funny, help-
Solomon: BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!
Haruka: Shut it, Solomon!
Solomon: I can't help it, it's too funny! I mean, it's more fun this way, isn't it? You have more thrill in your relationship-
Ichigo: Ah yes, the sexual tension-
Haruka: What-
Ichigo: What?
Solomon: I-
Suddenly Haruka hears footsteps and a concerned Satan in front of her.
Satan: Haruka, aren't you coming?
Haruka: Y-yeah! I am! I'm just getting this book-
Satan: Okay, come on, your exam is tomorrow, right?
Haruka: Y-yeah o///o
Somewhere, Simeon is trying his best to contact Haruka, but nothing is working until he finds Barbatos by his door.
Simeon: Barbatos?
Barbatos: Hello^^ Do you mind some tea?
Simeon: Oh sure, I'm free^^
Barbatos: Perfect, the Lord is inviting you for some tea today^^
Simeon: He is? Why hasn't he contacted me?
Barbatos: He sent me instead^^. Come along.
With that, Simeon and Barbatos go to the Demon Lord's castle to have tea together. Mission 1, done! Now back to the library, Haruka and Satan learn together, and there is no sign of Ichigo and Solomon.
Haruka:...Are Ichigo and Solomon coming with us?
Satan: Guess not. Perhaps they're on their own section. So, any questions besides that?
Haruka: So... Michael is the one who stabbed Lucifer, throwing him all the way here. What about the others?
Satan: I don't think it's stated here. Let's go find another book, maybe with more details, perhaps this.
Haruka: ...that's a bible-
Satan: I know-
Haruka: How are you not burned?!
Satan: Nah, Nah, I'm joking. It's a casual book. It does look a lot like those Christian bibles I see in the human world. They are pretty interesting, I must say.
Haruka: What do you mean?
Satan: They have interesting stories, but I hate that they view Lucifer and me as the same being. But anyway, that's not why we're here.
The day went on casually. Luckily Haruka and Simeon still don't end up together since Simeon is busy thanks to Barbatos or Solomon, perhaps Michael as well, but he's swamped. Haruka is, of course, still happily dating Satan even though he got offended a lot, but it's all good since he's trying his best to be better.
But now it's time to go back to the future. Once Barbatos and the humans are back, Haruka finds her ring turning into an emerald stone with a diamond surrounding it.
Haruka:...
Satan: Babe!! Dinner is ready!! [entering the room unannounced]
Haruka: Huh?
Satan: What's wrong?
Haruka: It's nothing, it's the ring...
Satan: What's wrong with it? Is it not your taste?
Haruka: N-no, it's fine. I just find it pretty as always^^
Satan: Aww, okay then^^
Lucifer: Is she up for dinner yet? It's Ichigo's turn today, so I'm sure the food is trusted-
Haruka: I am, I am! Hold on! [finally gets out of her room]
But once she's out, she doesn't find Simeon and the other angels. She looks around, trying to find the angels, but none of them are there.
Satan: What's wrong?
Haruka: Did we travel with the angels?
Satan: Oh, we did^^ They're just quite busy today since there is a lot of work up there. They'll be here soon.
Haruka: I see...
Satan: Come on, I think they're back already.
Haruka: Okay, let's go^^
As they walk to the dining room, the two pass by Barbatos, calling for Lord Diavolo. Barbatos gives her a code that they succeed with the mission. The two of them finally sit down at the dining table. The conversation starts with Asmo,
Asmo: So, Beel, when are you proposing to Ichigo-
Ichigo: Eh?!
Beel: What? [chokes on his food]
Lucifer: [tries not to laugh]
Belphie: pfft-
Solomon: Yeah, when?
Levi: She can't wait anytime longer. You guys have been dating for 1 year!
Mammon: I can help if yall need some jewelry advice!
Lucifer: I'd certainly not trust you with this kind of thing!
Mammon: Oh, come on!
Ichigo: [laughs nervously] I don't think we're ready for that...
Beel: You're not?
Ichigo; What- Uh- o///o I mean if you are...
Beel: We'll see^^
Ichigo: Shut it and just eat your food >///>
Suddenly the door was opened with the angels finally done with their work up there, including Luke.
Luke: We're baaaacck!!!
Haruka: Oh! You guys are back!
Simeon: We are ^^ Oh my, that's a lot of food, who cooked all this? :o
Diavolo: Ichigo and Barbatos, as always^^ Such an outstanding performance as always Barbatos.
Barbatos: All the best for you, M'lord ^^
Simeon: Well, if it's Barbatos and Ichigo, I'm sure it's delicious! Come on, Luke, let's dig in!
Luke: Yay!
That night ends with a peaceful dinner as everyone has fun. Luckily, Simeon has 0 feelings for Haruka and is now more focused on taking care of Luke and being a pure angel. Haruka and Satan are now happily engaged and are now planning their wedding soon.
Asmo: Wedding? I'm glad you asked. I've planned this since day one- [throws in a big binder]
Satan: What-
Haruka: oh my goodness!
Asmo: I know, come on, let's start discussing!
Yeah, that's pretty much the result of the time travel clownery. Guess, either way, Haruka gets her happiness, which is good for her. Also, kudos to Satan for making the relationship more thrilling.

Pandora - Forsake
"Whatever changes there are in the world I hope you will never forsake me and I shall be happy"
-Anne Somerset
By the time the charade with Yosuke ended, it was dark outside. Seeing her apartment building in the distance, Haruka let out a sigh of relief. She was even more exhausted than her normal work days. She always thought it was tiring working for someone like Eisuke but after just half a day with Yosuke, she already felt that it was the most energy draining experience of her life. Why did her life have to be so full of energy consuming humans?
As she was nearing her building, Haruka stopped in her tracks. Parked on the road just next to her building was a very familiar car. She let out an internal groan, preparing herself to deal with the storm that was to come as she walked up to the car. Knocking on the window, Haruka put on a smile as she greeted her boss.
"You're late," Eisuke stated. "How dare you make me wait?"
"Well, for one, I didn't know you were coming," Haruka said, straightening herself.
Getting out of the car, Eisuke thrust a plastic bag to Haruka. Confused, she took the bag and peeked inside to see takeaway containers with C'est La Vie printed on. That was the restaurant Eisuke went to with Yumi that afternoon to meet with Emmett Lawson. The atmosphere at the restaurant was perfect; casual yet still classy. The food was delicious, so much so that even Eisuke had complimented the chef once or twice. It was a restaurant that Haruka always thought was perfect for a casual lunch meeting; the client would let down their guard a little with the informal setting yet still able to enjoy themselves.
Without a word, Eisuke made his way up to Haruka's apartment ahead of her and waited by her door for her. Awkwardly unlocking the door, Haruka allowed Eisuke into the apartment first. Setting down her handbag, she rushed over to the kitchen and put the takeaway aside to make a cup of tea for Eisuke. As she served him the tea, Eisuke raised an eyebrow at the drink.
"I don't have a coffee machine," Haruka confessed. "Or coffee, actually. Have you eaten? Would you like some of the takeaway?"
"Why would I want leftovers? I only brought it over because I know you like that restaurant."
Nodding her head, Haruka kept her words to herself. She used to be hurt with Eisuke's comments but she grew immune over the years, and learned along the way that this was Eisuke's unique way of caring. Reminded by her growling stomach that she had yet to have dinner, Haruka left to get the takeaway. It was only when she was taking out the container did Haruka notice something.
It was warm.
Eisuke's meeting with Emmett Lawson was in the afternoon. If this was leftovers as Eisuke said, it would be cold. When she opened the containers, Haruka was met with yet another evidence that Eisuke lied. Three containers with her favourite appetiser, entrée, and dessert.
"Thank you, Mr. Ichinomiya," Haruka smiled, looking to the man who appeared nonchalant.
"For bringing you leftovers?"
"For bringing me leftovers."
Staring at the three set of suits laid out on his bed, Eisuke could not get rid of the frown plastered on his face. Undoubtedly, this was Haruka's routine. Every morning, she would pick out three different carefully matched set of suits for him to choose from. Somehow, the suits she picked out would always match Eisuke's mood for the day. This morning, however, was different. Very different. From just a single glance, Eisuke could tell that the suits were not chosen by Haruka but rather, Yumi. A trivial thing to most, yet it was enough to irritate Eisuke first thing in the morning.
Coming out from his bedroom, Eisuke was met with yet another irritating sight. Standing in his living room with a tablet in hand was Yumi, not Haruka. He had nothing against the young woman; she was good in her own way. She just was not good in the way Eisuke wanted her to be. Sitting on the sofa, Eisuke listened as Yumi reported his schedule for the day though his attention was focused on the cup of coffee in front of him.
"What is this?" Eisuke interrupted.
"I'm sorry, sir?"
"What is this?" Eisuke asked once more, pointing at the coffee.
"Um...coffee?"
Seeing Yumi, her arms wrapped around the tablet timidly while staring at Eisuke with fear and confusion, yet somehow still had a look of determination reminded Eisuke of a young Haruka when she first started working for him. She too, started bright-eyed but clueless. Haruka knew nothing when she was hired. She was just a girl with a high school graduate certificate. Yumi had a decent resumé at least, but Haruka did not. No one in their right mind would have hired her, but Eisuke did because he did not need someone who could do everything perfectly; Eisuke could do it himself. He only needed someone who could do one thing right and Haruka did so flawlessly.
"When Haruka gets here, tell her to make me a cup of coffee."
"Oh, but Mr. Ichinomiya- Mr Ichinomiya!"
Chasing after her new boss, Yumi started panicking. Her morning had been hectic since the moment she stepped out of her apartment. Everywhere, she saw news of Haruka; on phones, on the news, in the newspaper. Yumi always wondered what it would be like to know a celebrity, this was not how she imagined it to be. All morning, the men in the penthouse lounge had been bombarding her with questions, like she would know what was going on. Truth be told, although Haruka was a nice person, Yumi only knew her for a few days.
Then there was the fear of keeping it from Eisuke. From what she had been told (mostly by Baba), Haruka and Eisuke had a close relationship. Yumi could see for herself too, that their relationship was much more than just employer and employee. Just a look from Eisuke and Haruka would instantly know what he was thinking about. They were so in sync that it was rather scary in Yumi's opinion. Which was why she was afraid of how Eisuke would react to the news.
As soon as they caught sight of Eisuke, the commotion in the lounge seized though it only made Eisuke suspicious. After all the years they spent together, Eisuke knew better than to let it slide when they would act like so. The last time something like this happened, it was because Baba messed up an auction item that would have cost them a fortune to cover. One could only imagine what it was this time.
"Have you seen the news, Boss?" Baba asked, earning a smack to the stomach by Soryu.
"What news?"
"It's about the kid," Mamoru said. "She's got herself into quite a scandal."
There was only one person Mamoru would refer to as 'kid': Haruka. With a cheeky smirk and a nod from Baba, Yumi reluctantly handed over the tablet to Eisuke. Several tabs of articles were already opened in the browser but they all had the same title with the same picture. Haruka sitting next to the real estate tycoon Kozaki Taki in his very own hotel bar. The headline read: Ichinomiya Eisuke betrayed! Has the Golden Secretary finally found a better man?
The headline did not bother Eisuke. The fact that Haruka got herself into a scandal did not bother him either. What bothered him the photo. Haruka looked good sitting next to Kozaki Taki. The one particular article he clicked into talked about the potential of Kozaki Taki headhunting Haruka but all others were talking about potential wedding bells and that was bothering Eisuke the most. He never thought the day that Haruka would get involved romantically with someone else; he always assumed she would work for him until the day of his or her death.
"Where is Haruka now?" Eisuke asked, tossing the tablet.
"She took a half day leave," Yumi said, catching the tablet in her arms and breathed a sigh of relief. "She said she had some important matters to deal with and I'm pretty sure she said she was going to...kill someone."
~.~
To say she was furious was an understatement.
She never should have accepted Yosuke's invitation but curiosity got the best of her. She thought that curiosity did not kill the cat this time but she was wrong. Curiosity would always get the cat. After taking a half day leave, Haruka found herself standing at the apartment building that she visited just the day before. As she approached the building, the doorman opened the door and greeted her as if he had been expecting her. Then again, he probably did.
Taking the same elevator Taki took her on last night, Haruka soon found herself on the top floor. And just like last night, the residents of the top floor were all gathered by the pool but Haruka only had eyes for one. As she walked up to the group of men, Yosuke was the first to notice and stood up to greet her. Without warning, Haruka raised her hand and swung at Yosuke's face though he managed to dodge the slap by just a few inches.
"Feisty," Shun smirked, taking a sip of his drink while enjoying the show.
"It's nice to see you too, Haruka," Yosuke smiled, composing himself though he kept a distance between them just in case Haruka swung at him once more. "I see you've seen the news this morning?"
"You did it on purpose. You invited me out and put me in the hotel bar with Mr. Kozaki on purpose. You are despicable."
"Well, that wouldn't be a new word to describe Yosuke," Taki commented.
"You spoke so highly of Ichinomiya Eisuke that I got curious. What if his goody-two-shoes secretary betrayed him? How would the high and mighty Eisuke react?" Yosuke picked up an empty glass and poured some wine before handing it to Haruka. "Don't worry, it's not drugged or poisoned. I never imagined that you would be the one marching up here, to be honest. I was expecting the man himself. You didn't struck me as the violent type, not from your file."
Holding his hand out, Yosuke was handed a folder by Taki which he then presented to Haruka. Opening the folder, Haruka was met with information concerning her. The first page was a basic detailed profile of her; name, date of birth, height and weight, and even the hospital she was born in. The pages following was filled with information relating to her, including her family and some details that even Haruka herself did not know of. Yosuke ran a background check on her. Not even Eisuke did so and he had a shady underground auction she was involved in.
"Matsuoka Haruka, born on May 20, 1988 to Matsuoka Hanae at Tokyo General Hospital. You have two younger sisters, Haruko and Haruna. They are much younger also. Both of whom, however, living at a different address to the one you listed on your work application form. Your mother, unfortunately, passed away when you were sixteen and you started working part time in order to support your family at a maid café. Most popular maid, might I add. As soon as you graduated, you applied for several jobs but were rejected from all.
"That's when you met Ichinomiya Eisuke. Odd that of all those who interviewed, he picked the most unqualified one. Not as odd, however, as the fact that there is absolutely no information on who your father is. Either your mother did not know who your father was or, which is the theory I'm leaning towards, your father is a very powerful man. More so than all four of us plus Ichinomiya Eisuke combined. And from the face you are making right now, I think you know who he is. So here's the million dollar question, who is your father?"
"That's enough," Haruka said, her tone neither angry nor upset. There was no emotion attached to it. It was so cold that even Yosuke felt intimidated for a split second. "You think I would be afraid of you just because you ran a background check on me? Well, let me tell you something, Mr. Sagara. I've met scarier men than you and I've stared each and every one of them in the eyes without blinking. So no, I won't tell you who my father is."
Whenever Baba discovered something new about her, Haruka always said the same thing to him. 'It was not a secret'. She never mentioned her mother at work because it was not necessary. She never mentioned her sisters either because why would a man of Eisuke's caliber be interested in knowing her sisters? But all her life, Haruka had kept one secret. The only secret that she was hoping to bring to the grave just as her mother did.
She was not keeping the secret to protect him, however. Her father was an abusive man with no redeeming features whatsoever. She was keeping the secret because she did not want others to know that she was related to such a man. She was keeping the secret because he played no part in their lives and she wanted to keep it that way. Her life without him was not the best but at least she was happy.
As she finished her little outburst, Yosuke reached out with his hand and gently wiped away the tears that had been rolling down her cheeks. Slapping his hand away, Haruka turned her back to him and wiped her own tears. At the same time, her phone started ringing, saving Haruka from facing Yosuke.
"Matsuoka Haruka speaking. Alright, I'll be right there."
Arriving at the hotel and seeing the familiar setting washed relief all over Haruka. It felt comforting to be here. The buzzing of conversations, the squealing of playing children, all of it. Haruka could not help the smile as she looked from one corner to another at sights that were so familiar to her over the years as she walked over to the elevator, heading up to the penthouse.
As she pushed open the door to the lounge, Baba was the first to greet her as usual. "There you are! I've missed you, my ang-" Getting up from the sofa, Baba spread his arms as he always would and walked in her direction. Today, however, Haruka walked right into his arm instead of evading his hug. "Well, this is different." The moment she hugged him, Baba knew something was not quite right. "Are you...alright?"
Haruka was not sure whether it was the three words Baba asked, or because she was finally hugging someone she knew, but the tears from before returned. Her arms tightened around Baba as he did the same when he realised that she was crying. He was shocked, to say the least. The only time he ever saw her crying, it was at a party where a woman slapped Haruka out of jealousy but even then, her tears were so the woman would be kicked out of the party and her father would lose a business deal that Eisuke never wanted in the first place. These were real tears, and Baba was lost as to what he should do.
Coming down the stairs from his suite, Eisuke froze in the middle when he saw Haruka and Baba. His secretary had always been clear on boundaries, especially with Baba. The first time they met, Baba went for a hug and Haruka took a step to the side, resulting in Baba tripping and falling over a coffee table. Eisuke knew then that Haruka could deal with anyone and everyone.
"Haruka."
"Mr. Ichinomiya."
Pulling away from Baba, Haruka wiped away as many tears as she could before turning to face Eisuke. Her red eyes and nose, however, was evident of her crying and Eisuke instantly glared at Baba who already had his hands up in the air in defense. Eisuke knew Baba as well as Baba knew him. Baba would never do anything to hurt Haruka, not intentionally anyway. Forgetting what he called Haruka back for, Eisuke wiped away the few rogue tears left on her cheeks and took Haruka by her hand, leading her out of the penthouse.
Many times over the years, Haruka had been swept off by Eisuke to places without ever knowing where they were heading or what they were going to do. All these times, she would keep quiet in the car and try to figure it out for herself. This time was different, except Eisuke was driving himself. Sat in the passenger seat, Haruka stared out of the window on her side, not wanting to face Eisuke when her emotions were still boiling over and tears were still streaming down her cheeks.
In the first few months of working for Eisuke, Haruka was a crybaby. She cried during her interview, begging Eisuke to hire her. She cried on her first day of work, thanking Eisuke for hiring her. She would cry over spilled coffee or because Eisuke found a mistake in her draft documents. She cried when the bill allowing for casinos in Japan passed and Eisuke was able to go ahead with his plan for a casino hotel. That was the last time she cried in front of her boss because he told her that in order to make decisions when it came down to business, she would have to push her emotions aside. Was that why Haruka decided she had enough of him? Because Eisuke told her to suppress her emotions for all those years?
"Mr. Ichinomiya, I don't think I'm in the right condition for a meeting right now," Haruka said softly.
"What makes you think we're here for a meeting?"
"This is Mr. Nakano's mall. His office is on the top floor."
"We're not here to see Mr. Nakano."
"Then what are we here for?"
"We are here to watch a movie."

The S, M and T kids are playing happily together and their dads react to the scene?
This is so cute. I want to cry.
SAKAMAKI
Shu: Shu would watch Kazumi from the distance, only bothering to move if his child was hurt or doing something uncalled for to the other kids. He generally wants to leave his child alone and have him/her interact with the other kids to develop proper social skills. It’s only when it’s time to go home that he will reach out to his child and inform her that they must take their leave now.
Reiji: Never in a hundred years did Reiji imagine that his child would play with the children hailing from the Mukami and Tsukinami families. He’s a little particular with who Satomi interacts with, but he knows better than to control who his child can and cannot be friends with. Sometimes when someone gets an ouchie, he’s the one taking care of them and giving them first aid.
Ayato: Ayato is more than likely playing with the kids too and being rowdy with them. They all think Uncle Ayato is super cool, and Ayato thrives off of hearing their compliments. Seeing all of the kids play with each other sometimes reminds Ayato of his childhood days with Kanato and Laito. He secretly hopes that Mizuki will have better relationships with her friends than what he had.
Kanato: Kanato also keeps his distance and can be found sitting under a shaded tree at a table with Teddy eating dessert. Of course, sometimes the kids will come and pester Kanato for a bite and he hates it when they burst into tears when he says “no”, so he usually has extra plates if they ever want to sample his desserts. Otherwise, he doesn’t interact with them and chooses to watch silently.
Laito: Laito is playful with the children, but chooses to admire and watch their friendships develop from the distance as well. Sometimes Ayato will have him join in on games or sports, but other than that, Laito likes to cheer on the kids and gossip among his brothers and the other dads about their kids. This is a much better future for this generation, and he’s thankful for it too.
Subaru: In the back of Subaru’s mind, he’s glad Hikari has friends that she can rely on. Subaru recalls how lonely it was to have no one to interact with, so a small smile always makes its way to his lips when he sees his child laughing and playing with the other kids. He’s very protective of his child though, and is a worry-wart whenever he sees his child fall down or trip over an object.
MUKAMI
Ruki: Ruki’s Fuyumi tends to hang out more with the Sakamaki family’s children and Ruki doesn’t mind it, but he wishes his kid would hang out more with the Mukami kids. He’s the uncle that all the kids come to when they have disagreements or fight over toys because of Ruki’s ability to make things fair. Sometimes Ruki will read them stories as well, and the kids absolutely love it.
Kou: Kou can be found horsing around with the kids too, and all of the kids would think it’s awesome that he sings as an idol. He’s quite popular among this young crowd, but that’s also because he’s great at entertaining them and grabbing their full attention at any moment. He’s rivals with Ayato when it comes to who is the “best uncle” though, and they always compete for the spot.
Yuma: Yuma always has this satisfied look on his face, and his brothers speculate that it’s because the kids put him in a good mood. The kids admire Yuma for his height, and while he’s reluctant to give them piggy back rides, he always gives in when he sees a pout. In a way, he’s glad that his kid has new friends to hang out with. He wants Haruka to know how great friends are.
Azusa: Azusa is another silent watcher, but unlike Kanato, he doesn’t mind talking to the kids and helping them when they need it. Azusa secretly wonders if all of the kids will stay as friends forever, and he hopes that they each will be close enough to live in one brotherhood. He wants Akiyo to be happy and excited like this always, so he enjoys going to these play dates often.
TSUKINAMI
Carla: At first, Carla wasn’t fond of the idea of having his children play with the lowly vampire race, but they were the closest in terms of family to Carla since the Founder bloodline only lasted up to him and his brother. It takes him awhile to warm up to the idea of taking his kids to play with the others, but he relaxes after seeing how happy his children are when they hang out with the other kids.
Shin: Like Carla, Shin was also hesitant in letting his children play with the Sakamaki and Mukami kids. He grimaces at the thought of it but after some persuasion from his spouse, he decides to take his kids out to meet the others. It doesn’t take long for Shin to see how ecstatic his children are to have new friends, and he becomes more lenient in letting them attend these play dates.

Valentine's prompt: HaruMichi "Well, Mina helped. Do you like it?"
I wasn’t gonna put this on the main blog cause it’s AU of Mystery and Shadow but Jet talked me into it. 1300 words AND WITH THAT I’M DONE FOR TODAY HAPPY 5k WORDS VALENTINE’S
Michiru considered ‘I have a surprise for you’ to be among the most terrifying phrases that Haruka was capable of uttering. Even after all these years, Haruka’s enthusiasm for the love between them had not dimmed,  and sometimes her overebulliance dabbled on the side of the extreme, and it was rather a white-knuckle flight through their love.
The girls were getting older now, and in need of less care, and this freed Haruka and Michiru for a few more date nights than there had been. Foolishly, Michiru thought this meant she might assign less importance to Valentine’s Day, but she had discovered just how wrong she was when she saw the grin spread across her face that morning.
“I have a surprise for you tonight.” She’d put heart shaped pancakes out for the girls’ breakfast.
“Oh?” Michiru looked down at the fruit salad, thoughtfully prepared with little heart shaped strawberries. Haruka was a dear, and the years had only made her more of an open marshmallow, her hard chocolate shell broken. “I thought we might go to dinner.”
“We can do that if you really want.” She set Michiru’s tea in front of her, “but first, my surprise.”
Michiru smiled coyly and put her hand on Haruka’s. “So long as I get to select dessert.”
“God, gross,” MA picked at her pancakes, “and Pop, tell me you didn’t cut our lunch into hearts, please.”
“It’s Valentine’s Day!” Haruka wheeled over to the counter and picked up their lunchboxes. “You can’t expect me not to do a little something.”
She gave a long sigh. “Pop, you’re humiliating.”
“MA.” Michiru looked over at the table. “You will treat your Papa with kindness and respect.”
Kimi took her lunch and nodded quietly at Haruka. “Papa, I like the hearts.”
“Thank you, Kimi.” She kissed her on the cheek. “You two need to go pretty soon.”
“I do, as well.” Michiru finished her tea with one last sip and leaned over to give Haruka a kiss. “I promise I shan’t be late. Would you like to make the reservations for this evening, or should I?”
“You can,” Haruka nodded, still grinning as the girls gathered their coats, “I’ve still got my surprise.”
___
Michiru could not imagine what Haruka could possibly be so cagey about, that would not stall them for dinner. Just as she felt she knew Haruka’s every move, she could still be surprised. That was one of the things that delighted Michiru most, Haruka’s mix of surety and surprise.
She walked in the door, and the lights were dimmed, LED candles on the stairs leading up. Michiru wondered, for a moment, how she managed that, and also how she managed to get the children out of the house, and momentarily she thought there might, in fact, be a very romantic mass murderer upstairs in bedroom.
These thoughts were quickly brushed aside with the call of a low and familiar voice.
“Michi, come on up!” it rang down the stairs, and Michiru followed its beckon, siren now the called.
She swung open the door, and her bedroom was dark, save of the lights shone on each of her paintings, spread around the room on walls and in easels, each with a little placard beside it. It was a fairly large selection of her most recent work, spanning the last few years, the loose ideas formed of color and of suggestion, letting go of a precision she could no longer manage.
“I titled them.” Haruka looked around the room along with her, already dressed for an evening out. “Probably badly, but, I tried. You can always rename them, we’ve got plenty of time.”
She paused a moment, and then gazed softly at Haruka. “How did you do all this?”
“Well Mina helped. She grumbled about it too, but, she knew,” Haruka shrugged, “Anyway, do you like it?”
Michiru was, as she often was at Haruka’s grand gestures, a touch confused. “You’ve put so much effort into this, Haruka, and it’s displayed so nicely.”
Haruka laughed. “I know, it seems dumb right now, but,” she drew a piece of paper from her inside jacket pocket, “This is your real surprise.”
She recognized the letterpress from her parents’ acquisitions, a well regarded gallery that had not even existed back when she used to show her work. She had seen several shows there, and had always been impressed by the quality of art they selected. Haruka was mostly impressed with the dessert plates they supplied for openings
She opened the envelope, her hand rising to her face as she read.
“I didn’t negotiate the percentage of sales or anything, I don’t know anything about that.”  Haruka nervously fiddled with her wheels, “ut I know you haven’t really tried to show anything since we had the kids, and, I thought…”
Since we had the kids. It was so sweet of her to put it that way. Her fingers moved unconsciously to her scar, feeling where the nerves and tendons were ripped through, where the violin and art had been taken from her in one moment.
“They loved your stuff, Michiru.” Haruka rolled toward her and touched her hip. “I mean, they just loved it, they went nuts.”
And she could see all of that on the paper, in the generous offer, in the words about how her work suggested fluidity and movement and the value of perception on behalf of the viewer. How she recalled some of the great primitives. They wanted her to speak at her opening, of course. Her opening. Michiru found herself unable to read the letter any longer, her eyes blurred by tears.
She sat down on the bed, laying the letter in her lap. “How did you..”
“I just went in there and showed them some pictures of your stuff, and then snuck them into your studio when you were gone. Mina helped,” she nodded, “she pretended to be your agent, and just made up a bunch of stuff.”
Michiru sniffled. “So she enjoyed herself, as well.”
“Don’t cry, Michi.” Haruka wheeled over and stroked her cheek, “You don’t have to do it, I just think you’re so talented, and they do too.”
“No,” she shook her head, “It isn’t that. I haven’t sold a painting in fifteen years. I thought…” she looked up at Haruka, seeing the love reflected in her grey eyes. “I thought that part of my life was over. I certainly never expected to headline a show. Though I suppose, it’s quite the sensation, the broken socialite making good, and trying, some sort of inspirational tale.”
“Oh, they don’t know.”
“Whatever do you mean?”
Haruka indicated to the top of the letter where it said Michiru Tenoh. “They don’t know you’re a Kaioh, or you used to sell, or anything. Or about your arm.” She smiled. “They just see how beautiful your stuff is. How beautiful you are. I didn’t think you’d want it out of pity, so I lied. And Mina lied. Mina lied better.”
“Haruka,” she took a deep breath, trying to collect herself. Her sweet, thoughtful, perfect wife looked back at her, waiting. “I am going to cancel our reservations for this evening.”
“But I’m hungry.” Haruka said, with a touch of regret.
“I know. I am taking you to the Olive Garden.”
