anyway as someone who was gonna go into game design i do have thoughts and feelings on the matter of the push to photorealism alongside the crunch and terrible working conditions of most developers but nobody is here for that

#leoposting #i actually steered /away/ from game design and went to computer engineering as my major of choice BECAUSE of how shitty the industry is!#devs are overworked and underpaid and appreciated; there are good companies YES #but so many of the big ones suffer from massive crunch and unhealthy practices or are just all around toxic #and making it as an indie developer? good luck. you gotta get REAL lucky there.#like yes; there ARE companies and places that have good working conditions! some studios are properly staffed/run/etc!#but you hear way more horror stories than anything. and to me? i'd rather not turn my passion into something i'd burn out doing #so comp engineering! i'd rather build PCs than spend hours writing code I myself don't understand #i'm a shitty programmer but a half-decent IT person #anyway in summary leo hates big game devs but still consumes their games like the filthy hypocrite they are
