we also watched tng 3x10 the defector last night, which was VERY good in that it had good moments for almost every crewmember. picard and data perform shakespeare together, apparently?? i love it.

it was fascinating to watch this right after tos 2x06, which is so focused on the chain of command and who can give orders. in tng, riker just casually gives orders while picard is on the bridge and no one says anything. because it's fine! this is the USS NPR and the bridge crew meditates together :)
